I ordered the Macho Nacho with Spanish rice and found what looked like a burnt piece or possibly even a bug in my food. I used my flashlight to confirm that it was actually a bug and that's just what it looked like. I sent pictures and I reached out to the restaurant, and instead of taking it seriously, I was told it was just "burnt rice from the bottom of the pan." I didn't feel like my concern was handled with care, instead of that u can't justify anything why serve me burnt rice or anything like that in that matter. As a life long Illinois QC resident, I always enjoyed Mexican cuisine on the east side of the river. And there are many good places over here. Then I heard about Ganzo's and I don't know how I missed it for so long! We had a really good server (Dalton) and the restaurant is very clean. Margaritas we're as good as I've ever had. I had the Mexican tacos, my wife had the Chicken Enchiladas...fantastic! But the menu is so extensive...I gotta go back for the Fajitas! The food is an American take on Mexican food, but it's tasty. The portion sizes have decreased over the years, as the prices have increased. Mistakes are often made on carry out orders. My last order I received ground beef enchiladas (I ordered cheese enchiladas) & what was supposed to be a Ganzo's Nacho (menu states it has beans & no meat), I received a nacho with ground beef & no beans. Being semi-vegetarian, neither dishes were acceptable. Our orders have been incorrect more times than I care to count. I'm sure I'll return, as their cheese enchiladas are very good. We ordered dinner for carry out from Ganzo's for the first time tonight, and it was super delicious! I tried the flautas dinner and hubby had the arroz con pollo. Both were hot, fresh, and flavorful. Service was also speedy and friendly. We look forward to going back soon! read more

Very upset with the service today. Ordered just One enchilada and a soda to go. The said it would be 25 minutes which I should canceled then. When I got there I had to go in and it took another 5 minutes to get waited on. Another 5 minutes to get my order with no social distancing going on or no masks being used. Left and found that left my soda out. Went back and called them to bring it out to my car as I was afraid to go in again. Took another 5 minutes to get my soda. This family-owned business has been at it for years in several locations with this being the newest. They have also operated a taco-wagon that has been a regular sight at many fairs and events over the years. Ganzo's sells your usual "Americanized" mexican items;tacos, burritos, fajitas, etc. Quality is consistently high but the service can sometimes be a little slow. Complimentary chips and salsa (the best in town!) are brought out before your meal. I can't comment too much on the various kinds of food as I usually get the all you can eat taco bar when I go so things are made just how I like them. Just wish they had a little finer shred on the lettuce. Chunky lettuce doesn't do good in tacos. Ganzo's is also a great spot for Cinco de Mayo celebrations as they close down the street out front for a huge party. If you're looking for some decent Mexican food that is much better than Tacos' Bell and John's you can't go wrong with Ganzo's. Now...are they better than Rudy's? read more

Been going to ganzos for 40 years. Gone down hill. Screwed up our order for the 5th-6th time tonight then just try scraping off their fuck up and adding cheese to cover it up. I told them I wanted it fresh the way I ordered it. By the time I got my food my family was finished with theirs. Not to mention people came in after us and received their food before us ? This used to be one of my husband and I's favorite places to go. Over the past year the service has gone downhill. People don't greet you when you come in, even though there's usually people rolling silverware at the first booth in view. The taste of the food is good, but the amount of meat in tacos is almost non existent. I've sent them a message on their Facebook page about concerns and it's never been answered. I rarely write a bad review, but save your money because the pricing has gone up quite a bit, for less food and poor service. There's also never a manager around to even address. The server turnover is so bad we rarely see the same one twice. Sad because I like the flavor. read more

Definitely the best Mexican food in the Quad Cities. The menu is huge and there is something for everybody. Ganzos even has a paleo menu which features healthier options. The staff is always on their toes and it is always clean. The stuffed peppers and el Plato are my go to, but the tacos cannot be beat. Ordered lunch to go 3 separate times and managed to get the wrong thing all 3 times. I even had the gal repeat my order of flour shell tacos with no beans to make sure she got it correct and I get home there's corn shell tacos with what seems like extra beans. I understand mistakes happen that is why I returned a few more times. I'm better off dining in next time that way I can be sure my order is correct. read more

This restaurant had always been my favorite place to eat. However when I bought 3 gift cards for Christmas gifts in August total of $60, I found out they do not care about their customers! I should have know in hindsight when the waitress didn't give me a receipt that it was a little fishy! She gave me paper gift certificates saying they were out of the plastic ones! When my family recently used them, they found out if they didn't use the whole amount on the certificate they would lose the balance. I grew up eating Ganzos. They have shown a nice presence in the community and have developed a loyal following. Sadly, they have gone down hill in terms of food quality and service. It's not bad food, its just basic Mexican American food. Uninspired. Prices have become quite high as well outside of happy hour which offers half price apps. The margaritas are some of the worst I've ever had. I don't get how a Mexican joint screws up margaritas but they did. Possibly the worst margaritas on the face of the planet. They should be ashamed to call themselves a "Mexican restaurant". I understand this is the Quad cities and most Mexican restaurants are going to serve fake margaritas with sour mix instead of real lime juice, but this place has bred an entire different type of margarita. Went there today for lunch. Stood at the door for 5-7 min before anyone even asked me if I've been helped. Then sat down and watched other customers being helped in larger groups. Things seem to have really gone downhill here lately. Poor customer service-the waitress forgot the sour cream, never offered or brought taco sauce, no refills on drinks, and finally asked if everything was okay AFTER we were done eating. The taco bar was messy with spilled ingredients, but no one wiped it off the entire time we were there. Portions seem smaller and prices have gone up. The restaurant seemed rather disorganized-the woman who seated us brought us chips and salsa and said our waiter would be "right with you." He never came, and when she came back by she asked if our order had been taken. When we said no, she actually said, "Well, maybe he went to the bathroom or something." I went tonight and I thought I would try something different, the fish tacos and they were terrible. 3 pieces of "fish stick" cod in a flour shell with big chunks of nasty cabbage and a very avg. sauce.
