Excellent food and huge burritos! Staff was very friendly as well! Can't wait to go back next time I'm in town.

My issue isn't directly with the restaurant portion of the business, but rather with the grocery side. While there is nothing wrong with the quality of the products, the pricing practices are highly frustrating. The Issues: No Listed Prices: Almost none of the items have price tags. The only way to find out how much something costs is when you are ringing it up at the register. Inconsistent Cashier Charges: The cashier appears to make up prices on the spot without scanning or checking for accuracy. If you don't watch closely, you will easily be overcharged. Outrageously High Markup: Some of the produce prices are completely unreasonable. For example: 1 lb of frozen Spanish plums: $12.99 Small papaya (1.5 lbs): Almost $20.00 Medium chayote: $2.00 each Final Verdict: Keep a very close eye on your total if you shop here. If you question the cashier about these erratic prices, be prepared for a defensive response or a poor attitude. I hope management addresses this lack of pricing transparency soon. read more

Always great authentic Mexican food and groceries. The steak tacos are great. They also have a wide selection of groceries.

So, i was trying to be all discerning and give this 4 stars because it was good, but not our absolute favorite. But seriously, those were the best asada tacos we've had in a minute. Also, we tried an abodabo burrito and it was. so. dang. TASTY! FOR REAL THOUGH; this is a fat guy telling you to get the SMALL if you are having anything else with it! Had a chicken quesadilla and it worked -especially with the salsa. Love the roasted jalapeños in each box. It also been a minute since we've been to a real taquiera, I think. We got it all to go and they had it ready so fast! Topped it off with a couple Jarritos and went to have a late lunch by the river just a couple blocks down! Alot of folks really like this place, however I was not fond of the food at all. It seems it was from a region I was not familiar with and I really did not care for it. The little grocery store connected to it was great though. They have many great treats and things to enjoy. I really enjoyed the cactus pears. read more

What an awesome little Mexican Restaurant! We met some friends for dinner here on our way to a night out and everything was fantastic. It's inside a Mexican grocery store and you can smell the food from the street. I got the Big Burrito and it's easily a 2 meal'er they have one size bigger in the Mega burrito which I am going to attempt on my next visit as there will be many more after this. Pricing is super reasonable. 4 of us ate extremely well for 41 bucks including adult beverages. You can't go wrong in the place. read more

Was in Iowa visiting friends and have tried to go to this place several times but they had been closed due to a fire. I finally made it in and tried several items such as carne asada-sopes, refried beans and a huarache. I was not disappointed! The different salsas had good flavor- tasted fresh and homemade. The big Burrito is very flavourful, best burrito I've ever had! My boyfriend had the asada tacos, I tried one of his and it was delicious as well. My Sister order the Huarache and she said it was good too. You get a good amount of food for the price. The store/restaurant is very clean and organized. It was my first time so I walked down every aisle lol. We also ordered 2 horchata and agua de Jamaica. We got queso and chips as a side, the queso is the best! The queso didn't get hard/thick like others I've had which was a relief. I live out of state and can't wait to come back to try more! Staff is attentive, friendly, and professional. read more

GREAT Authentic Mexican food - serves food everyday but Wednesday i think, more food & meat options on the weekend also. In the back of a very nice and full mexican grocery store. great prices - large portions - $1.50 chorizo taco had the most meat ive seen around here and was great. the $6 steak huaraches may be the biggest single meal item in any restaurant of any food type i have ever seen. it comes with a ton of meat, giant homemade tortilla, onions, cliantro and like an avocado crema. PLUS a side of 4-5 grilled large green onions and 4-5 grilled jalapenos and 4-5 lime wedges. Unbelievable. the salsas are a standard good salsa verde, and there was a red salsa that was probably the spiciest thing i have ever eaten in my entire life - so if you like spicy salsa this is your spot. i think this is the first review of this place - everyone in the area should check it out for sure, i am anxious to go back and try different items & meats!! read more
