I stopped by one day to get a quick chop!!! The moment I arrived I was seated! The style that I typically have is messy spikes!! The lady said she didn't feel comfortable doing it; I said I understand it's hair it will grow back I mentioned it's kinda like a Mohawk!! The owner Gappy went on to say it's a Mohawk he's trusting you! I emphasized don't worry it will grow back! She was doing an awesome job everything was looking great!! I was thinking to myself, finally a barbers that can give me what I want!!! Or so I thought!!! Up chimes Gappy!! I've come here or at least attempted to get a cut here twice... Each time I would wait as instructed. With both visits people would just walk in and take a chair without waiting or even losing stride. After my second visit and 10 people walking in and getting seated right away, I almost snapped and made a scene but kept my cool and just left. I asked for a light trim on top that was about 4" in length and # 2 on sides. What i got was a buzz cut and now i need to wait a a couple of months to get my hair back. Its so short that i cant even gel it. The woman didn't listen to me at all. First time and last time here. I wish i went elsewhere. 0 stars as far as im concerned!! I'm not going to give this review more than 2 because I hate coming in here and having the price change each and every time. I'm usually charged $8. Today was 10. Gappys keeps changing the price and does not have a set price. Each time Gappys raises the price, the tip goes down. (Sorry to the barbers ) Although the guy who did my hair today was very nice, he was also very talkative. Tried me to talk to him like we were best friends. I usually don't like to talk to those I do not know. He got too personal (asking my age, marital status, where I work and what I do). I've been coming here since they opened there is always about 10 barbers working. You can choose which barber you would like or you can use the next available. I always get a good haircut and a very price. This place also sells lotto. The parking lot always has spots so it's easy getting in and getting out. Like everyone said below me, it's a cheap, quick cut. My boyfriend has been coming here for a year or so and only got cuts with Robert. If Robert and Suren never left to Division Avenue, I would give Gappy 6 stars if I could, but sadly I can't. Robert and Suren did give him a quick, cheap cut but it was a cut worth having. They would always make sure to keep him looking sharp, and always knows whats right. He actually cares for the customers as opposed to the other barber whose name I didn't even bother finding out because he literally chopped his hair off and called NEXT.... i didn't feel welcome at all, as if he only wanted to get the job done. This barber shop is filthy. It may be the dirtiest shop that I have seen. Do not expect to get a great haircut there. Many of the barbers barely speak English and their work is passable at best. I wish I could give this God forsaken hell hole zero stars. However, I can't so I suppose one star will suffice. Seriously, these people don't know how to cut hair. Like at all. They only know how to give you a buzz cut. I came with hair that wasn't necessarily long, but on the long side (kind of like the way Justin Bieber used to have it but even shorter than that). First off, I was shuffled around like three times because most barbers refused to work on "long hair". Then finally one guy would take me. I asked for the same style, just a trim and to keep it on the long side. 5-8 minutes later, I practically have a buzz cut. I asked him to put gel in it and it still looked awful. I look utterly ridiculous now and my confidence is completely destroyed. I feel like an ugly piece of garbage. I will say my barber was a pretty nice guy though, despite completely ruining my hair/confidence. Also I find it hilarious that they offer "ladies cuts". Like seriously what girl in her right mind would come to this place. It's absurdly filthy and it doesn't look like anyone there knows their way around a woman's hair. Plus I don't see any beauty products, just gel. In conclusion, this place may be cheap and quick but it is not worth it! I used to go to Pats but ive been going here for a few months. Place is grimey and is in need of some new paint and some Mr clean. Seems Isak is the most thorough when giving a cut and seems to be considerate about blowing the hair off of your face. George is good as well, Lenny is super slow,Donna butchered my hair and i was an easy cut .# 3 on top and 1 on side not hard to do but hey live and learn.Over all a decent place make sure to get the card at the end of the cut i think your 11th cut is free. read more

I got a ticket and went next door for a coffee but when I came back, the old man (Gappy) who owns the place told me I had 5 people ahead of me and that I shouldn't have left. I hate this place. Only gone out of convenience and it seems like every time I go it gets worse. There are a few good barbers but the rest suck. After today's I'm done. I asked for something very simple, clean it up. Guy stared at my head and then started talking to the person next to him. Finally he said he doesn't know what to do. So they move me to another chair. I go to the gym right around here so it's an easy stop after the gym before I go to work, I've been here 3 times, first time the guy didn't even pay attention to me, he was checking stocks on his iPad took a total of 3 phone calls in the middle of my haircut, literally stopped what he was doing to take a phone call in another language, second time was OK nothing crazy but this time I got some old dude with a lazy eye that was literally done in 8 minutes , I could tell he didn't even want to take me, I asked for #2 on the side and scissors on top, I have very straight hair so buzzer on top gives me a weird sticking out fro and I hate it but he proceeded to argue with me to do the buzzer on top and I had to tell him 3 times to go shorter and shorter, defiantly not going again, now my hair is uneven and I have an absurd amount of hair all over me, only reason giving this 2 stars instead of one is because the 2nd time wasn't horrible read more

This is the worst place you can ever get a hair cut at in Nassau county,I been to really great barbers in Queens,BK,Bronx,and Manhattan so once I moved to L.I. It was becoming a hassle going back and forth from Levittown to Queens and sometimes Manhattan about twice a month for a cut so I decided to try this place called Gappy's by the Nassau mall next to the five guys,Long story short,haircut and shave was so bad that the owner said come in two weeks or a month from now and will get someone to give you a free cut cause they did such a bad job,I felt bad cause this time the guy that did my hair actually did a good job a 7 out of 10 but still that was Gappy's best guy named Ivan,so as I walked out Gappy's try to charge me lol,scumbag try to charge me twice when he promised a free cut so I left and never went back Thankgod I found a good shop a week later,still not as good as the boro's but compared to Gappy's the new place is like a Vidal Sassoon salon lol.theres a reason why there are always seats available at Gappy's lol word is definitely spreading as this is the worst shop in L.I. read more
