I was informed of a price around $200-300 for single or both springs, plus labor (which many places would not provide unless I had them come out first). It seems like the price could vary depending on the garage door style, size, and weight. Also, another place had quoted me $485 right off the bat therefore this was the best option so far. They let me know that the technician would have all the necessary parts and tools for whatever option I go with (very convenient). Technician Sam called me to notify he was on the way and when he arrived outside. Upon arrival, he inspected our garage and said it would be more than quoted since I had a heavy door (~$400-500). He provided us with two different priced options, differing in expected lifespan and labor (~$100) warranties. The job was estimated to take around 30 mins, depending on if there was complications with the existing parts. Sam was very professional and knowledgeable with all the mechanics and components. He let us know more about what we had installed and what could potentially fail or cause us issues in the future. He also gave us recommendations on how to properly maintain the garage door to prolong it's functionality and life. After we made our choice, he began working right away. During this time, he came to get our attention and let us know that the bearings needed to be replaced soon and we just asked him to do them since it was already disassembled and the labor cost was flat rate. It all ended up taking closer to an hour, and despite the higher than anticipated expense... we felt very assured and satisfied with the outcome we received. After comparing reviews I decided to hire Palms Garage Doors. I provided all of the pertinent information regarding my garage door issue. Then they proceeded to set up a time slot based off my preference. I requested for the 1-3pm slot. The technician, Geva, arrived close to 230pm which met the 1-3pm slot I requested for. After meeting w/Geva who I learned was also a veteran of the armed forces like myself ...but from another country which was impressive after sharing his combat experience w/me. He proceeded to troubleshoot & diagnose the issue after I advised him of the issue (not opening/closing). After he was done...he advised me that the driver belt & motor were bad...he even showed me the worn out driver belt. The motor we currently have didn't have a backup battery(outdated system) & wasn't properly working even after Geva adjusted the setting. So after discussing my options w/Geva I decided to have the motor & driver belt replaced. So I opted for the standard smart lift master w/the driver belt as opposed to the chain linked one. He then proceeded to work (disassembly & installation). After Geva completed w/the installation he went on & started testing the garage. As soon as he closed it using the opener I was impressed w/the slower speed & closed smoothly. He then opened it & it was the same result. He then proceeded to instruct me to download the app which will enable me to control the garage door ...which I've never done before. It's definitely advanced from what I'm use to since now it not only allows me to open it from my phone but there's a built in video camera which will sense anyone in the garage while the garage opens & closes. Overall, I was impressed with everything that Geva provided w/his outstanding service. It feels like a brand new garage door even though the motor, drive belt, & track were the only ones replaced. Literally 10-20 seconds later about 7 companies tried contacting me. Its was a bit overwhelming but reassuring at the same time. I began engaging with these companies through text. Sent the pictures of damage, gave garage details, and requested a quote. There was a lot of run around but 1 company stood out. Palms Garage Doors. They were able to provide a solid quote and got a technician out to the house in about 2 hours. To our surprise a 6'10 technician Illiya pulls up. Sorry if I butchered the spelling of your name.
