Came in with very high hopes. Shared inspiration pics and matched with Gina who told me what I wanted was easy. It's not even in the same realm. I had my appointment rescheduled and really worked with the salon. Came in and felt as if I was not listened to, stylist was too busy juggling someone else before their water turned off for some reason. I'm not interested in getting it fixed for free. A refund would be appreciated because now I have to find someone i trust to fix this mess. I will not come back to a place who promised me what I wanted the first time. The front desk receptionist understood and acknowledged why I felt why I did and even acknowledged it was not even close to what I wanted. If you cannot do what the client wants don't do it and disappoint them. I came in for a pick me up after a really tough time and came out feeling worse. I was recommended to y'all and even went through the process to be matched with a stylist. This was a terrible experience, will not come back or recommend. I want my money back so I can get it fixed by someone who can promise my results. I've had events this weekend I have cancelled because I'm Embarrassed and calling me constantly to come in and get it fixed isn't going to help. You lost my trust and my business. You lost me my hard earned money. Needless to say I am angrier than hell. I'd like my money back and to part ways with this salon forever. Not worth $400+ read more

The staff was very friendly and professional. Called ahead to see if they did mens haircuts and they said yes but when I got in the chair the stylist, who was very nice, said they couldn't do a fade. Recently relocated from Florida, I discovered this salon on Yelp. Prior to my move, I filled out a form on their website. Gina reached out weeks before my appointment to discuss my hair goals. On the appointment day, the salon was welcoming and tidy. I love that the washing station is in a separate room. Gina, incredibly skilled, provided me with the best haircut I've ever had in addition to helping me cover up my grays. She was well-versed not only in Aveda products but also in others I mentioned. Do not go to Jenna with curly hair. My haircut looks like a mushroom and completely not what I asked for or described in the 2 seconds she took to ask me questions. She must have blacked out while talking to me, because this is awful and the complete opposite of what I asked for. She cut my hair wet, so when she dried it it was literal inches shorter than when she cut it and she then had to retrim everything once the curls were shaped. I asked her why she was cutting my hair wet and she assured me it was fine. Turns out, that was wrong. She also hardly said 5 words to me the entire hour I was in her chair. Never again. The salon itself is welcoming! The individuals at reception always are attentive and appear interested in you once you walk in. Just on a whim, needed a place to call mine since moving to Austin and the salon was recommended. From our first appointment I knew I would be coming back. Not only does she take the time to get to know her clients personally, she gets to know your hair (weird right?) She's open to brain storming with you - I wanted to die my hair, do something new, we spent a half hour (you can book complimentary consultations for this type of thing) and we discussed 1) pricing 2) expectations (what I wanted was a lot of maintenance, which I hadn't known before) 3)time investment. Needless to say after 30 minutes she was patient and understanding when I decided to back track and say "yeah no". And was more than excited to do the alternative option I asked her about. She's patient but also always ready to do something different on a whim if I ask (you know shave part of your head or chop all your hair off). Not to mention the scalp massages ‍. She's professional and makes you feel like your her top priority- I've never had an instance where I felt rushed out and that she was just cutting and blow drying to get me out of the chair. I've been going to Garbo salon for about 1 1/2 years now and my last visit prompted this review because I am so pleased with the haircut I received by Brittany! So, the stylist I had been seeing moved on elsewhere. I wanted to stay with Garbo because they use Aveda products. I had heard from another Garbo patron that Jasmine was the "curl whisperer." She lived up to every bit of her name. She freely shared all tips and tricks to make sure I was getting the most out of my curls, and the attention to detail was sublime (pretty much down to the individual curl level.) I am beyond pleased and can confidently say that this is one of the best haircuts I've ever had in my life. Jenna is the only person i have been to that can handle my crazy thick hair. I have found my new person! I went to Garbo for just a blowout after my original appointment had to get cancelled but I got so much more than that. The blowout was awesome and my hair was smoother than it had ever been, that's when Jenna mentioned I get a keratin treatment (which many stylists have been pressuring me to do) but I trusted her. Recently, Garbo has opened up a new hair salon on Riverside, which is conveniently closer to me. I really wanted to do something different with my hair this time around and ended up booking a cut with Nicole at the east location. I went from long hair to real short, and could not be more happy with how it turned out. Do yourself a favor and book an appt with Kayla at Garbo. She is mainly at this location but does 1 day a week at the North location. She is hands down amazing. She listens to what you want but makes smart recommendations based on your lifestyle and hair type. I'm not a "regular" salon goer technically, I'm more of a "mess with my hair for a few months" and then when I need a more drastic cut or color I come to see Kayla. She is NEVER judgmental about my own experimentation and always has me leaving with runway hair. She does book up sort of quickly because she's so good but you can book online so its easy.
