Ordered through door dash I am a nurse and had been working long hours with no time to get lunch. I literally received a bag with taco no salsa no napkin then I ordered tortilla soup $12.00 for literally chicken and broth no cheese no avocado no strips no napkin no spoon. I thought I had eaten at all locations of this small chain, but I was wrong ring. This one opened about 7 months ago, and I just found out about it. This location is off the beaten path about a mile from all the activity. It's in a small strip center and is an end spot so parking is rather easy. When we walked in, it kind of reminded me of their original location. It even has some of those covered booths, which is where we got to sit. They are better in this location as the tables are bigger and the sitting area is larger. The menu is a little different than what we are familiar with. Also, they have made my favorite order unavailable to make any substitutions. Our waitress was friendly but had some issues. She was able to get my wife's taco fixed (it came out with only lettuce and tomato), but she failed to bring us the sauce that she went on and on about. When we said something about it, she brought it out after we were done eating. My food was tasty, but it could have been hotter. Also, we like spicy food, but the queso was "HOT". We just needed extra drinks in order to handle the spiciness:) Will I return? Unfortunately not as my wife was really upset with the service and food. read more

My wife and I went to college in San Marcos and Garcia's was our place. We live in new Braunfels and we're so excited when it opened here. At first the food was awesome just like we remembered it. But the last few visits have been very, very bad. We got some to go plates of beef enchiladas, and a few Carne guisada tacos. The enchiladas were watery I mean really watery. And the carne guisada was so salty we couldn't even eat it I mean very very salty. Not sure what's going on with this place. read more

New location but the quality of food isn't consistent with any of the other Garcia's restaurants in NB or SM. Taco meat was very bland. Imagine cooked ground hamburger meat without any of the traditional seasoning. Cheese enchiladas weren't melted. Had unmelted shredded cheese inside. Tasted okay but wasn't expecting them to not be thoroughly heated as the Cheese on top of the enchilada. Chalupas dinner were refried beans Only... Kind of odd. Meat is an additional charge. Chips were Great. But Very Weak "hot" sauce!! Sad. Doubt if had any peppers in it. If ya like it very very mild, well this IS your place to get it. Service was Great. The worst customer service ever, a girl comes out with all different colored hair gets our order, that's the only time she came to our table. My order comes out from another guy and I ask for salsa and the tortillas that did not come out with my fajitas. My food was getting cold after 7 min, and I got up asked the guy infront for tortillas and salsa it finally comes out. Then my tea is empty and I call the restaurant refuse to get up again, ask for the manager on the telephone and say can I get a refill on my tea he comes over no I'm sorry or any apologies it was a white guy manager did not get his name. Food is great! Service is also great! However, I've got a few complaints. #1 Winter, Fall, or Summer the place is so downright cold all I want to do is rush to get done and out of there. And they do not do take out so there's no way to pick it up and take it home. Also, there are no acoustics in this place so it's very loud and not real conducive to table conversation, ambiance. Finally. I had quite a few "Local $$$" and they discontinued the Local app but didn't give regular customers a chance to use their accumulated $$$ off my bill. This was NOT good customer service. Last time we were here, 11/29/2025 we were able to eat outdoors to avoid the cold and the noise. That works well when the weather is nice. So turn up the thermostat and save some electricity. Took friends to eat here a while back and they kept saying their teeth were chattering even though they had jackets on. Put in better acoustics to deaden the noise. And think twice b4 taking away a customer's $$ off with any app, in my case the "Local" app, when deciding to discontinue it. I wouldn't have cared if I'd been told that we would not longer earn points towards $$ off as long as I was still allowed to use the $$'s I'd akready accumulated. read more

Ate here last night; literally no complaints. Chips and salsa were good. Margaritas were very good. The place was comfortable and our booth felt private which was nice. The beef fajitas were amazing and plenty of food. Our server was Adam and he was the man. We walked in as a party of 5 less than an hour before close and he couldn't have been friendlier. Gave us helpful advice and was very attentive. All in all, we will definitely come back the next time we're here. read more

The service was very slow due to the waitress not familiar with the computer she was inputting the order into, especially the alcoholic drinks on the menu she couldn't find them on her gadget then telling us they didn't sell them.... She seemed a little lost, forgetting to bring items like tortillas, refill on the salsa, no water refills. The owner made his way round, introducing himself seemed nice. The food and margarita tasted good. The Michelada needed alot of improvement. The restaurant looks pretty. Service was great, Jacob took good care of us to a point. One glass of water with margarita never offered refill once it was empty. Food came out Luke warm at best, which is a concern as safe food temp is above 140. Never receive tortillas, which is a standard for any good Mexican food resturaunt. Now for the really bad part my wife found a pice that looked like part of a food handlers glove in her food. When we were seated at first there was a party in side room with one table left unoccupied, with numerous other tables and booths empty what inspired Lucas to do this is beyond reasoning. read more

Came here for the first time this week for my birthday and left full and happy. I had the combination plate with a cheese enchilada and it was SO good. It came with a ground beef taco that was stuffed with so much meat and other fillings. The tea was delicious, the queso is just standard queso which is delicious. Food - awesome Tex-Mex Service - friendly and helpful it was pretty busy but no one at our table had to wait long for anything Price - very reasonable I didn't use the restroom but the restaurant was clean and looked well maintained. The ONLY negative I'd give is that if you are disabled, you may struggle to get up the ramp out front as it it very steep. I was using a walker and the walk up was a little difficult but going down was scary because it is really steep. I really don't think it is ADA compliant. In any event, I'll scale that concrete slope anytime for those cheese enchiladas. The complimentary chips are pretty dang good too. We will be returning. read more

Came to eat here with my husband. We have been to several of their other locations and have always enjoyed the food. This was our first time to this new location though. The waitstaff and hostess were kind and attentive. Despite being busy when we were there, our waitress(Abby) made sure we had everything we needed. We usually love the salsa, but the first dish they brought us was a bit watered down. When they refilled it, it was a thicker consistency and delicious. I had the chile relleno and it did not disappoint. However, there was quite a bit of cheese! I really love the flavor of their rice as well. I did not try the fried burrito, but my husband has ordered the same dish from here for over a decade, so it must be amazing! We definitely plan to come back again (and again!) read more

We went for breakfast shortly after they opened and a few days later for dinner. Their breakfast tacos were delish! Barbacoa was not greasy and very flavorful. Yummy beans in the bean and cheese tacos. Flour tortillas were great. Husband had migas and said they were okay. Dinner was not horrible but not amazing. We both had various combo plates. Cheese enchilada wasn't great but the chicken was wonderful. Service was slow but they seem to be working out their kinks. Ordered two of their specialty drinks. Husband's came out quickly and mine got lost and I didn't get it until after my food came. Love the look of the restaurant inside. One of our favorite Tex mex spots in NB. Chips and salsa are great. The loaded queso is one of our favorites! We've eaten here a few times and have gotten a variety of things and haven't had a bad dish yet so don't be scared to venture from your normal cheese enchiladas. Service is always quick and we never have to wait too long. Always a pretty busy spot so it's sometimes difficult to find parking, but that's the hardest part of the trip. I don't live in New Braunfels. My son and I came here for dinner after a day playing in the rivers around town. We picked it after rolling through options on yelp. We wanted straight up Tex-Mex and Garcia's was great. I had the beef enchiladas and they were great and the price was good too. We got sat quick and never wanted anything while we waited for our food. The service was excellent. The restaurant is clean and everything nice. Seems like a new family restaurant. The ambiance is minor millennial bougie nor is it 40year old beat up building with a crowded parking lot either. We came back for breakfast and it was the same great food and great service. Waited 20 minutes to sit, which wasn't bad, until we waited another 20 minutes at the table and decided to leave when the people next to us got sat and served right away. It really doesn't make sense because there were a few open tables in the place. I ate at this establishment for the first time with a friend yesterday and was blown away by both the quality and flavor of my food as well as the service. I currently live in Boerne and though there are several Tex-mex places around me, very few are worth a second visit. Garcia was special. Their enchiladas with chili and cheese gravy are a phenomenal entree. Both of us were so pleasantly surprised with the taste, texture, and the wonderful tortillas they used to make them. Their refried beans and rice were also very good. Some of the best I've eaten around here. Everything was hot and fresh. The chips they bring to the table are unique and fantastically light and crispy. The salsa was very good as well. Good enough that we ate three bowls of it. Aside from all of that good food, I wanted to mention in particular, our server, Miranda. She was one of the finest restaurant servers I have ever come across. Never once did we wait or want for anything. She checked on us just exactly the right amount; enough that all our needs were addressed in a timely manner, but not enough to be intrusive in our conversation.
