Terrible bland greasy Mexican food. All of the meat, beans, rice, and salsa were very bland. The tacos were so soggy and dripped with red grease. The pollo bandido was supposed to be chicken and rice with cheese sauce. The cheese was about a teaspoon drizzle. The fajitas had potential but unfortunately the onions were scorched on the bottom and everything had a burnt taste from sitting on the grill plate. The tacos locos were disastrous. I'm from San Diego where Mexico is part of our culture. I was warned that there is no good Mexican food in Franklin but there were good reviews for this place and I thought, "How can someone F up fajitas?!?" Oh, I was wrong. So wrong. The tortillas were Taco Bell quality. Definitely not homemade. The chicken seemed like it was pre-cooked. It was disappointing. Put it this way, it was the first time in my life I did not ask for a to go box for my left overs. It was bad and I left so sad. This is not Mexican. I don't know what it is. My husband and I moved to Franklin in December 2019. I was craving mexican food and he took me here for a special lunch. What a surprise this gem of a restaurant was, so good! I grew up in San Antonio, TX and I love good mexican food. We ordered beef fagita's and I got refried beans instead of black beans. The meal was plentiful, the meat was tender and very tasty. The riced, beans and salsa were very good and authentic. The only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5, was the chips. I like my chips thin & crispy. Their chips are thicker but not bad. Since our first visit we have ordered take out 4 or 5 times and have never been disappointed. They also have excellent service. read more

Went to Garcias because it was recommended to me. Food and server were good. Margaritas weren't the best and very expensive. What really upset us was the treatment we received at 9pm when it was closing time. We got to the restaurant around 8pm. We ordered food and got margaritas to celebrate a birthday. When it got close to closing, they turned off the music, turned up the lights, started mopping... we were still drinking our margaritas and felt very uncomfortable (obviously meant to on purpose). We left around 9:20. A decent place will not make you feel unwelcome, even if it's a few minutes after closing. Will never go back. That's not how you treat guests. read more

One of our favorites in Franklin, usually select from the Comida Del Mar section of the menu. Anything that has the creamy white wine sauce and shrimp, just try it. Chips and salsa are always great. Top it off with a large margarita and we are all set for a great experience. Pick your own go to dish or venture out, that's how we found our new favorites. DO NOT EAT HERE! Just are there and we found not one but two ants in both of my girls meals. We told our server and he seemed not to care. The second time, I grab the ant off of my daughter's lip. the manager came over and was asking me where it came from. I said from both their meals. He was questioning me about the ants like I put them there. Instead of taking both kids meals off the bill he just took $3 off for the French fries. Not sure why he did it that way. I am a die hard fan of Mexican food. Originally from NY, I've been to many good restaurants there and in other states. Garcia's is in the top 3. Never disappointed. Excellent, friendly service. The food is always fresh, hot and absolutely delicious. The Queso fundido is a must for all queso lovers who are looking for something a little different. The carne asada- perfection! This has been my family's favorite Mexican restaurant for over a decade. Quality food. Amazing steak! Get the taco loco or any of the specials and you won't be sorry. They also carry incredible banana pudding for dessert. They used to grow their own produce not sure if they still do. We have two favorite Mexican restaurants in Franklin, depending on what kind of mood we're in. This is our "go to" for the best salsa anywhere, great quesadillas, and has a great "feel" to it. Check out the flaming cheese appetizer, yummy and the beginning of any great celebration dinner. They are not known for exceptional service - sometimes the waiters are good, sometimes not. Best Mexican restaurant in middle Tennessee in my opinion. You can tell all the food is made fresh and it all does not all taste the same like some other Mexican restaurants. Tacos Vampiros is the best thing on the menu in my opinion. Drinks are a little pricey but that's the only criticism I can think of. You will not be disappointed at either location. read more

Looked up a Mexican restaurant nearby and thought this would be a great find but I was let down. At first the salsa was great, tasted homemade and all, but once I received my food it wasn't the best. The rice kinda tasted like it had those Mexican seasoning packets from the grocery store in them. Then the beef tacos were not drained. Or they were just super greasy. I dunno, but as we got our check it turned out to be $41 for 6 tacos, 2 sides of rice, salsa and the queso is $5 for a small bowl! Will not be going back :/ read more

Went there for dinner last Thursday night, and when we got there, we got chips and salsa almost immediately. As a native Californian, I eat Mexican food a lot and their food was good. Unfortunately, when my father and I each got our Enchiladas, they were luke warm and were forced to send them back. Garcias to me, is more of a Texi-Cali Mexican restaurant over authentic Mexican food. With that being, if you claim Mexican food and don't make good salsa, than what kind of restaurant are you really?!? LOL. Garcias gets salsa among many other things completely right. In fact, they have some of the best salsa around I think (I like actually tasting cilantro in my salsa). Their fajitas, chicken chimichangas, and taco salad, are spectacular. Those are the items I tend to frequent, but I have never been disappointed with any other items I've tried there. Give them a shot.
