Skinny Margarita & Cheese Enchilada a La Carta
    Mari B.

Pleasantly surprised on our first visit to Casa Jose! Staff was nice and it was during dinner time and not too busy. Place was well organized and clean. Chips were good and so was their salsa (not watery) - we also asked for their spicy salsa and it was good. Our kiddo was happy with his food choice and we opted for Molcajete and a la carte cheese enchilada. The Molcajete was fantastic and so happy to see nopales in it with Mexican cheese. Very generous portion that fed two of us. Also preferred their corn tortilla vs flour here. The beans that came with it on the side were great too! The enchilada was good and liked their sauce. You just need to eat that first, since it gets cold quickly. All in all a good experience and will go back again.

Cinco de Mayo calls for eating some Mexican food! The food is pretty good, but when I got the mixed fajitas, I was hoping for a little more flavor. I wish the tortilla chips were warm and a little thinner. I was happy with the portion size and feel it was a great price! The margarita was good! The churro and chocolate chimichanga were good desserts!

We had lunch here today and it was good. Husband had the Molcajete Special for $15.99 that was served in a huge bowl. He only ate half and brought home the rest. It consisted of grilled steak, sautéed with onions, tomatoes and poblano pepper, topped with with ranchero sauce. Garnished with cambray onions, cactus leaf and slice of chihuahua cheese and served with whole beans and tortillas on the side. I had the Burrito Real with ground beef for $7.99. We will be back again. A complimentary basket of chips and salsa was also served.

We are from New Mexico and we are use to authentic Mexican food and this is awesome with the margaritas and the food and the dessert is five star to us.

I tried a flight of margaritas (4) which included traditional (lime), peach, blackberry, and mango. I am a traditional guy, but the peach won! My wife tried a traditional on the rocks and really liked it. The chili lime seasoning on the rim was a great addition. I ordered the fajitas Texanas which had shrimp, chicken, and steak. It was awesome, but way too much food. My wife had the cheese dip appetizer, fried avocado appetizer, and grazed off of my plate. Everything was fabulous. Our bartender and server were great. The restaurant was busy and it had a wait, but hanging out in the bar was a great choice. The wall leading to the restroom had autographed photos of celebrities that had been there. If you are in Franklin, Tennessee, Pueblo Real is well worth giving a try. We will stop in again when we are back.

We really like…read moreJalisco Taqueria (very authentic and not commercial), as well as Cinco De Mayo and Pueblo Real. That said, our favorite remains Garcia's Mexican Restaurant. Garcia's stands out for its depth of menu, daily specials, and overall value. There's a range of traditional Mexican dishes, but what really sets it apart is the rotating chalkboard specials that go beyond the standard menu offerings. On our last visit, we ordered a chalkboard special: chipotle chicken. It's not listed on the regular menu, but it should be. The dish featured tender, skinless chicken coated in a rich, creamy chipotle sauce, smoky, with just the right level of heat and excellent balance. It was served over sautéed peppers and onions, adding both texture and a subtle sweetness that complemented the sauce perfectly. The execution was excellent, restaurant-quality flavor without being overly heavy. Service was another highlight. Angel took care of us and was attentive, efficient, and genuinely personable, exactly what you want in a busy local spot. One more thing worth noting: Garcia's offers some of the best tequila values in the area. The selection is solid, and the pricing is noticeably more reasonable than many comparable restaurants, especially given the quality. Overall, if you're comparing Mexican restaurants in Franklin, Garcia's delivers where it matters most, flavor, service, and value. It's the kind of place that keeps you coming back, just be prepared for a wait, as it's always busy.
