I ordered 2 Chilli Relleno plate $18.75 because it's something I wouldn't make for myself at home. Bland, 2 stars. I added quite a bit of salt. Overall my entree was unremarkable Service was good enough. She poured more water, asked us if everything was OK. But when I asked for more sauce, she didn't tell me it cost $2.50 extra. Before starting my day buying minerals I needed some breakfast. I arrived at Taco Mio at 9 am, when they open. A young lady opened up the door and let me in. Looking over the menu I decided on a machaca and egg burrito. I asked for beans to be added, because it came with potatoes and I did not want potatoes. She asked if I wanted some salsa and I said yes. My order did not take long, about 10 minutes and I got it to go. My dog was in my vehicle so that's why I got it to go. When I pulled back the paper wrap I was surprised to find that the flour tortilla was orange but that sure did not take away from the burritos flavor. The meat, eggs, beans, cheese and that hot sauce was absolutely great. One of the best machaca burritos I have eaten. The total cost of my burrito was $13.91 and well worth it. read more

Omg! Holy cow! Wow!! This was, hands down, one of the best machaca breakfast burritos I've ever had. It was sooo good and fresh. The tortilla was on point. I was in heaven and so impressed with the quality. This burrito had potatoes in it which is unusual for a Machaca burrito but I loved it! So glad I stopped in. Very cute decor inside and they also have outside seating. The hostess/ waitress greeted me with a big smile. Very friendly & welcoming. I'd love to go back and try other items. Came in to have some Mexican food in Quartzsite amd found a cute little place. There are multiple booths to sit & 2 Tvs with football which was great. Menu has a variety and I ordered the chili relleno & enchilada combo. Both were good but enchilada was shredded beef rolled in a tortilla and sauce over. It could use most sauce and some cheese inside. The rice was good but the beans seem dry. Refillable soda. Pay by a machine brought to table with optional google or apple pay too. Possible family business & staff was really nice. Overall - I would recommend- priced reasonably good & to support them. read more

We were hungry for Mexican food so this is where we stopped. We were seated right away and got our menus. We both ordered the enchilada dinner. Normally chips and dip are brought to the table at most Mexican restaurants. We were surprised why we didn't receive any so asked. They have them but there is a charge. Well, it is Quartzsite. There were two servers. I think one was getting trained but they both sure seemed to be having their own party. It was a little difficult to break thru their playing around to get our check but eventually they did see us motioning for it. The place wasn't packed so all was good. Restaurant was fine. Enchiladas were good. No complaints on the food. Not sure we'd make a point to go back unless needed another enchilada fix! read more

I was surprised to see the relatively poor other reviews for this place. I have a soft spot for this restaurant because they stayed open and friendly during COVID, which I greatly appreciated. I mean, it's just your basic Mexican restaurant, nothing fancy or outstanding. But the food is good and reasonably priced for Quartzsite, it's clean, and I've always received fast, friendly service. Mexican food is one of the lowest cost ingredients to make a meal, but, this is The most overpriced restaurant in Quartzite, IMHO! No complimentary chips and salsa before (or with) your meal! This restaurant is definitely worth a stop if you are driving between Arizona and California. The food was just delicious! I had the combination with shredded beef tacos, rice and beans and I completely cleaned my plate. My dining companion had the breakfast burrito and it was huge. She could not finish it. Stopped by to grab a couple of breakfast burritos for the drive to our next stop. Food - I had a standard breakfast burrito and wife had a machaca burrito which was surprisingly good. We actually saw the chef cutting the fresh peppers for the cachaca. Unfortunately while getting into our truck, our dog grabbed the machaca burrito and started to eat it! LOL! She liked it too! Small Mom & Pop with nice people. They were practicing all of the Covid guidelines so we weren't worried. We'll be in Quartzsite again in a few weeks, and will return to try something else. read more

I'm not sure how you can mess up a chicken burrito, but the one I had was not very good. Just a plain burrito no sauce no cheese added to the top. The chicken was tasteless unfortunately. The burrito was dry inside and hard to cut. This was the burrito supreme. My daughter had a chimichanga and sadly it was similar. Usually a restaurant serving Mexican food in the Southwest is of much better quality. Service was great everybody was happy and helpful you didn't have to want for anything. They were exceptional at least our server was. The restaurant seemed clean and the ambience was good. Just the food was not so great. My poblano happened to be one of the very spicy ones, which happens, I happen to like that. Taco tortilla was flash-griddle-fried with just a tiny bit of crisp at the edges. We discovered we had to purchase chips and salsa to go with our Negra Modelas. We shared a shredded beef burrito and a carnitas taco. Both were tasty. The prices seemed a bit high, but there are not a lot of choices in Quartzite. Our server said it was her second day. She was sweet but could use more training. She did not come to check on us until we were finished eating, and I saw her just standing by the counter playing with her hair which is really unsanitary. Hopefully she gets it together and they have her tie up her hair. We still gave her a good tip. read more

This is my second time in here and it would be good Mexican food in any town not just a spot off the highway in the desert. They have three different homemade sauces. Whoever owns this place really cares and has authentic homemade tasting Mexican food. I had the #7 ( $12.45) chili verde plate. Outstanding slow cooked pork, peppers, and onions and a delicious great sauce. Haters will say they want more meat but with rice and beans and a tortilla too it's definitely enough for a meal. Let's start with what I really appreciated: 1) They were open during the pandemic and you could order takeout. In smaller towns it can definitely be hit-or-miss when it comes to food. It was later in the evening when I was finished with my business project in Quartzite and I was getting hungry. Most of the "restaurants" in the area had already closed due to limited hours during the pandemic. So, I definitely APPRECIATE that this place was open and still taking orders. The only other options would have been fast food which, eh. 2) The place was very clean when I entered. I was immediately greeted. It was very clear where people for pick up were supposed to stand. All in all, I felt comfortable that they were taking the pandemic seriously. 3) Super customer service. I placed the order over the phone and the woman that took the order was very nice. I believe she was the same person I dealt with when I picked up my food. She was lovely. Very nice, very sweet, made sure I had napkins and plastic utensils to return to my hotel room with. So -- when it comes to deciding if I'd rather support a small business or fast food it is always LOCAL and FAMILY OWNED because they're definitely friendly. What I Was Less a Fan Of: 1) I ordered an enchilada and a chile relleno, which came with rice and beans. I found the beans to be cold, despite the fact that I'd called just minutes before picking up and the hotel was less than 3 minutes away from the restaurant. So, I feel as if the beans were cold and were going to be cold despite the pick up. Unfortunately, they also lacked much flavor. The rice was also "meh". Rather than serve someone two staples that are 'just okay' it would have been better to leave them off my plate. They just were not great sides. 2) Enchilada was 'ok' but left a lot to be desired. It was more of a tortilla sitting on top of the meat (not folded or wrapped around the meat as I'm used to). Meat had a lot of sauce on it but the meat was a little tough -- not too bad, yet again I was faced with just a 'meh' enchilada. I've had a lot of Mexican food so I'd have to say that by this point... 3 out of 4 items in the take out container were all just average. I'm by no means saying anything was 'bad' or that it wasn't worth eating. I am merely saying that it was just an average experience and that if I had to decide between coming here again and trying another spot... I may try another spot. But Wait... What About the Relleno? 3) The Relleno was actually the star of the evening. The chile itself and the cheese was delicious. The casing was delicious. It was warm. I really liked the relleno but... it was drowning in sauce. Too much sauce. The problem with the sauce was that it wasn't 'great' sauce and it was fighting with the relleno flavor. I would have preferred less sauce actually, and since everything was swimming in sauce, this brought down the relleno a bit. My plastic fork also broke, but I'm not holding that against anyone. I just don't know how it happened and still have questions about what I did to ruin a fork. Summary... The food is "ok" but the people are "great". I may browse other places in Quartzite the next time I'm in town versus eating here. But mad props to businesses that are open during the pandemic. read more

Tourist Chile! Old school diner looking place. Brightly painted and clean. We came here because it looked like the only Mexican food in Quartzsite. No free chips and salsa, had to pay for it. And it was just kind of OK. Ordered the chicken taco plate. It came with beans and rice. 3 Stars. Cheese enchiladas, also came with beans and rice. 1 Star. Like my intro said, "tourist chile". Chili was not very hot or spicy. Except for the three side bottles of salsa that made the tacos edible. If you look at my other reviews, you'll see many, many from Mexican restaurants all over New Mexico, Colorado & Southern California. I've had some of the best, and some pretty sad ones too. Been there, done that. No need to return. Charged $7.50 for a tiny little saucer of guacamole, $4.99 for a basket of chips with a small plastic condiment cup of salsa. Service was okay.
