I got a veggie burrito. It was pretty good. Pretty much veggie fajitas in a tortilla with avocado and beans. It's juicy so you pretty much have to eat it with a fork and knife. Service was good. It was a bit busy which I guess is a good sign. We only had to wait for a few minutes. My wife got a beef taco and enjoyed it. My son got a quesadilla and fries and he was happy. read more

This looks to be a local favorite. We had combos. First loved the creamy refined bean and the moist and tasty rice. Since it was our first time, we both had red chili/sauce...aka Colorado. Their red is very fresh if that makes any sense. Tasty for sure. What was also wonderful was their salsa! Fresh and spicy also. I included photos of the menu as of early May 2023. Waited 2 hours to be seated yes it was a little busy but not that busy then waited almost an hour for food. They apologized for it taking so long and said we were getting a 30% discount but failed to mention that meant 10% discount for each of the 3 families that were with us. Garcia's was recommended to me by the concierge at my hotel and I was not disappointed. I ordered the #9 combination (2 chile rellenos and a shrimp taco with rice and beans) as well as horchata. The portions are gigantic and would easily serve two. The chiles were tender and flavorful, falling apart with the touch of a fork. The taco was chock full of flavorful grilled shrimp and perfectly seasoned. And the horchata was fantastic as well. The complimentary chips and salsa were outstanding, fresh and delicious. Looks like they serve beer and margaritas. Garcia's is currently offering indoor and outside dining, as well as take-out. Judging from the number of huge orders I saw walking out the door, Garcia's is well-loved by the locals and deservedly so. In case you were wondering.... Service still sucks. If you want a refill, get up and get it yourself. Also, be prepared to basically track down the waitress before you get your food and after you get your food. MIA. And you can forget about any smiles or happy waitress. Any tipping you do is out of shear obligation. Maybe if people didn't tip they would get the idea of how poor their customer service is. And by the way, this is how it always is. Stopped by here (in Blythe, CA) on the way home from a trip to AZ. Wanted some real food as opposed to the regular fast food restaurants off the freeway. When we stopped here, the first thing that we were greeted with was the delicious smell of food wafting down the street. It smells like some authentic homemade Mexican food is being made at someone's home kitchen! I came inside placed an order in the small inside dining room where there was only space for 3-4 tables. Thankfully they have more space to dine on the patio outside (as long as it's not too hot...remember in the summer months the temperatures in Blythe stay in the triple digits!). The food was fresh, delicious, and tasted authentically homemade. I had chicken soup and a quesadilla and a taco. Every was the bomb.com! My only complaint was it took a long time to get my food. I think I waited 40 minutes! It's OK though... everything was super fresh and hot...(I can't stand ordering food and getting it and it's not hot, that's just me) when I got the soup it was so hot that it literally melted the top of the container that they gave me in! And there was a big old piece of chicken on the bone in my soup! It was just like something you would get at home...that's the best way I can describe it. We will definitely eat here again when we are traveling through the area. Make sure you give yourself plenty of time and that you're not in a hurry. This is a great alternative to eating all that junky fast food that we often get while we're traveling from CA to AZ. read more

Googled nearby restaurants passing through Blythe from SoCal to Phoenix. Cruised down Hobsonway and saw Garcia's. Nothing to look at from the outside, huge dirt parking lot and old building. A little apprehensive walking in to find a very cheerful attentive staff, clean, and pretty darn good Mexican food (and this is coming from a Mexican-American). Good portions. Yummy chile rellenos, tacos, enchiladas, and I'm sure the rest as authentic as it gets. This now is a must stop for us while traveling through this area. FYI: Garcia's is planning a move down the street less than a mile. Says this location will remain open and be turned into a taco stand. read more

There were many of us waiting, with plenty of seats available. The waitstaff isn't able to multi-task. Once seated it took another 30-minutes before an order was taken. The salsa was way too hot. Again, I like spicy food but not that hot. Which is a shame because the chips were good. The enchiladas (green) were way too salty. There's a reasonable amount of salt, this was like sea water levels of brine. Other dishes ordered by my table were too hot (habanero levels of hot), and too salty (like they used Salton Sea water to cook in). It took over 2+ hours to be seated and served. Well, Another work day in California with a co-worker Allen, Allen heard me talking about this place back in Phoenix and when he found out he was coming along with me for work he wanted to go have dinner at Garcia's and I wasn't gonna argue with him ( love my Mexican food ) it was a hit 3 for 3 for me and his first. The food was great and very tasteful we both had the same plate, Carne Asada w/ Shrimp, Refried Beans, Fried Rice, Guacamole and pico w/ Flour Tortillas. Been seated 15 minutes just took our order still no chips and salsa ask at that time she said yes we still serve them that was 15 minutes ago. Totally unable to handle the customer stream. Can't hire a busboy to bring chips water. Manager from old location could hand the room but doesn't know how to handle a bigger more popular location apparently. Got so excited for meal I forgot to get picture before. Authentic Mexican compared to most restaurants. More like my Grandma's food I grew up with in So Cal. Fresh homemade tortilla chips and salsa served promptly. Large iced waters! Coffee was nice & hot. Full menu available at 10am. My husband got breakfast - Chilaquiles had 3 fried eggs on top and same delicious enchilada sauce. He loved it. Large portion. My daughter and I got combo meals. Enchiladas are largely stuffed w/ Shredded chicken. Sauce great. Refried beans great and crunchy shredded beef taco too. We will definitely be back next time we pass through town!! One additional comment. Service was quick, attentive and acceptable. Greeted promptly, drinks served quickly, refills offered, checked on meal, etc. But both my daughter & husband commented afterwards that she didn't seem to like us. We were likely the only table there that weren't local and/or speaking Spanish. We didn't ask or demand of anything special & directly off menu, etc. She was not outwardly rude in any way & provided acceptable service but she did not give the same attention and friendliness she offered to the other tables. Inside is very small so the difference was noticeable. I did not let this affect my rating as the service she provided was completely acceptable and food was great. Being fair, always clean with friendly service. This family put out really authentic delicious comida. The best from Havasu down to Yuma, since Amapola Cafe closed 20 years ago. Here's the rub. Rellenos are now the real big dominant over beaten egg white style with dried out Long Horn cheese hard plastered on the top. Cheese enchilada was now dry with average red sauce. Instead of the previous creamy smooth frijoles they were heavy and lumpy. Mexican rice was very good. Honestly the food was average. I am very curious as to how or why the extreme style of food has changed so much at Casa Garcia. My old favorite there was Bisteak Ranchero. Has anyone recently tried it. Ed M. read more
