Our $31.00 Large Cheese and Mushroom Pizza left us with severe heartburn and upset stomachs. And, $31.00? That's just ridiculous for a pizza. This place is just uncool. The "music" was some horrible, hardcore rap that was blasting so loud we had to yell to have a conversation. The decor was ugly. The tables were dirty. And, the place is clearly anti Law Enforcement with their anti ICE posters in their windows and anti Police stickers on their wall. Certainly not a family establishment. I wouldn't bring my children here, and I definitely will never go back. I don't understand how they are still in business. read more

Finally!!! A fabulous pizza joint close to home! The hubby and I tried Super Slice for the first time and fell in love. Not only was delivery quick, the pizza was hot, and every bite was amazing! We tried a plain cheese, necessary for new pizza places in my opinion and the caramelized onion and linguica. The way the pizza was cooked was perfect. Slight char on the bottom and bits of the crust. Both pizzas had zero flop, but, thin crust. Decent crust around the edge though, a nice chew with a crunch. Their sauce is really good. It has enough of a punch that you taste the sweetness, the garlickyness and the tang on the tomato. They do go a little light on the cheese, so if you crave that major cheesy slice, you might want to go for extra cheese. Overall this is a hands down 5/5. After living in NJ for many years then moving up to Mass, haven't found a pizza place. This place is kind of a big deal, especially for Salem! This is now my go to pizza place in Mass. Food: 5/5 have already gone here twice. Pizza is fantastic. Got the meatball pizza and eggplant pizza. Both fantastic. Great undercarriage thin and crispy, doughy but not too doughy. Everything you want in a pizza. I also got the cakes to go, ate them before I got a picture. I had been a bitter Betty since these guys closed down my favorite sandwich place Chez Casa. They were around the corner from me and I craved their chicken sandwich. Today I got over myself and ordered from their new store Super Slice. Wowza! Did not disappoint. Weirdly, I'll start off with their homemade French fries that were cooked perfectly, seasoned, and still hot upon delivery. Pepperoni pizza is the best I've had in the north shore. My husband had the fried chicken sandwich and loved it. I was too full to try it, so next time. Still wish Chez Casa would come back. But if my Chicken Casa ever makes an appearance on the menu, I better know about it! Yummy. read more

Get here now before there's a line around the block. I came in around 1PM and there were other customers, but only a short wait. The kitchen came over and asked what we were getting so they could get them started in the oven. This place is definitely set up to handle the lunch rush. I ordered a slice of cheese and a slice of eggplant. They had just sold the final slice of the eggplant, so it would be 8-10 mins for a fresh pie. I decided to switch to a slice of mushroom to keep things moving. The cheese slice was really good. I always start with cheese when I try a new pizza (especially NY style). This one definitely passed the test. (And while I'm not a grated cheese and red pepper on pizza guy, I think this might be a slice that can stand up to that rather than being muted.) The mushroom pizza was absolutely bonkers. I knew from the cheese slice that the dough was already great. This slice also added maitake mushrooms (which were a very nice change from button/portabella) and garlic fudge. What's garlic fudge? Well, your eyes tell you it's probably balsamic, but your nose and mouth will confirm it's a dark reduction(?) with a very nice garlic flavor. Underneath all of that is a porcini crema, which really put the umami sky high but within reasonable balance. And balance is the big deal here, IMO. You can wander into this place, say "a slice of mushroom, please" and the food you're getting has all of the flavor and balance you'd get if you went to a formal restaurant and paid $32 for the exact same thing served as a pasta dish. This slice was $6 (the cheese was only $3.50!). Garcon's super slice has some of the best food in the entire area (Boston included) and it is very approachable and affordable. Today a lunch special was two slices of cheese and a large fountain drink for $10. I wanted to rip down that sign and stand at a McDonald's drive thru in protest of people spending $12 on a Big Mac meal. Come to Super Slice. Meanwhile, Trump might win and the earth is in a death spiral so I am gonna hammer pizza from this place while the world goes mad. I wish it had different sausage - that's my only negative pants comment - this is superior pizza to anything you will find in 13 miles. There's a spot in Gloucester I like, but the toppings here are gourmet . Garcon for the win. Love the "garlic fudge" concept. I love everything about this place. Edit to add that the staff is friendly and helpful, and the ambience is fun and laid-back with plenty of seating. Garcon Pizza was the perfect stop for a rest and delicious pizza after walking around Salem the weekend before Halloween. Although it was a busy night we were greeted when we entered. It was bright, and clean, and had an upbeat pizza parlor vibe. We were impressed with the ceramic plates and stainless steel forks and knives instead of plasticware. The Margherita pizza had a nice crispy thin crust with tomato, fresh mozzarella, and basil. Meatball and ricotta pizza was unique and the hot honey added a sweet spiciness. The kids loved the "jello" brains for dessert. Great way to end our day in Salem! read more

This is the best pizza on the shore. I drive 45 minutes for their eggplant and olive pizza. I don't visit Salem without stopping here. The crust is perfect, the quality unwavering. The staff are the absolute best. Great layout and a variety of beers/seltzers. If you having tried this place you are missing out! We stopped in for a slice during the weekend before Halloween. We were told that the restaurants get packed so it's better to grab a slice and escape the crowd. I'm so glad we did! Not only did we get to escape the maddened for a few minutes but we also got an eat some great pizza! We got the linguica & onion + meatball & ricotta. We loved it with their house made ranch, hot honey and chili oil. The last thing I will mention was how kind the staff were. We were welcomed with enthusiasm and kindness. Can't speak highly enough. If I was Dave Portnoy I'd be coming here to rate this Super Pizza! I have to give the owner credit where it is due. He really amped it up for downtown Salem. I was waiting for something like this for a while. I'm from the north shore area and have eaten a large quantity of pizza. Love all the styles of slices, favorite is linguiça with caramelized onion, and the mushroom is amazing too, as well as the meatball and pepperoni. Tried the pizza here a couple of times and both times I was disappointed. I don't mind paying for a good slice but I ordered 2 slices of cheese and the total with tax was $9.56 at $4.50 a slice. That's pretty pricey considering the slices were not very big and were just average. The slices seemed pretty dried out after they were reheated so who knows how long they were sitting there. Also, it was around dinner time when I stopped in (around 6pm) and the place was totally empty. That should've been a warning sign. I also didn't get the friendliest vibe from the server as he barely said a word to me when I came in and ordered both times I was there. Not a good look. There are way better options for pizza in the area and I won't be returning. read more

Stopped by on 6/1. A few slices or a pie? Glad I chose slices (pepper and onion.) The slices are huge. The pizza is very crunchy and flavorful. Cooked well but not burnt. First slice was a little floppy but next two were not. Each slice was not overwhelmed by the toppings. So, nothing slid off (hate when that happens.) The young blonde haired woman at the counter was patient, helpful and friendly. Having beer on hand would be icing on the cake. Strongly recommend. I was looking for a late lunch yesterday and got a slice of mushroom pizza at Garcon. I had high expectations since I'm a long time fan of Chez Casa. Wow! My high expectations were blown away. I'm a Jersey gal who's been eating pizza for over 70 years. If it wasn't the best slice I've ever had, and I really think it probably was, it was definitely in the top 3. An absolute flavor bomb! I hate to be that person, but I find it very alarming that this place has such great reviews in terms of their pizza. Now the pizza isn't horrible, but it is not indicative of the good score that is given on yelp. I ordered a margarita, pizza and a regular pizza in which I called and asked to because well done. I picked up the pizza and when I got home, both boxes were undercooked to the point where even if I asked for it not to be well done I would've been disappointed, I had to put the recook the pizza.... Pizza was flopping all over the place. Respectfully, it is not worth it. Go down and see for yourself. Updated to 3 because the owner was generous and offered a free pizza, still was undercooked but appreciate the gesture. read more
