Service was excellent. We tried the cab franc, GSM, and the reserve Syrah. The wine was lovely. We also had the Brie with fig jam and that was delightful. It's never a bad idea to stop in walla for a wine tasting. I was familiar with Gard because a few years ago I had stopped in walla and the sommelier at the wine shop told me they had an ice wine. Say less, I freaking love a good dessert wine. I bought it and was on a quest to get more ever since! I finally made it back and stopped in to see if they had any left and just my luck they did!!! I also did a little tasting which was just fabulous and paired perfectly with a little cheese board. The outside tables are perfectly positioned to have wine Pup hang out with you and I can't say more good things about the service! I ended up buying like 6 bottles (whoopsie!) Because I tasted so many good ones. In addition to the ice wine (if they have it) they have a really great cab franc that I'll be hunting down again. read more

I am a member of Gard Winery and I love their wines and everything about them. I joined in Ellensburg and am there frequently as I have family there. On November 9 I met a group of friends in Walla Walla for two days. I could not wait to take them to Gard in WW. We arrived around 4 a group of 7. First we were told that we could not take a large hightop, because a reservation was coming in. So we took a chair/sofa grouping and were immediately scolded for moving the chairs closer. We ordered two bottles of white, and I asked for a chiller. When it did not arrive, I got up, went to the bar where the server was and asked her for two chillers. I got some sort of weird story about winter and freezer space that made no sense. No chillers. Not once did she come over to pour more wine or ask if we wanted food or anything else. I was so embarrassed because I had looked forward to sharing what my experience with Gard in Ellensburg has always been. The entire time we were there, she stayed at the bar, and there was no one else there!!! One man came in, had a glass at the bar and left. I don't want to be unkind, but this is not what I expected. read more

Was in downtown yesterday exploring and decided to try out a tasting. Came across Gard and we were the only ones with expectation of one woman who I believed worked there and then the woman who helped us. I didn't catch her name but she was very friendly. Tried several different types and actually ended up buying 2. Was great to hear about the different wines and the owners. Only negative thing I would say about our visit was the lady who helped us was also busy talking to the other woman who I assumed worked there but didn't start until the evening. She would be talking to us and then to this other woman and they would be talking about work or whatever else. I just felt like since we were there the attention should have been on us or engaged a little bit more. Not sure I would come back to this particular location but did enjoy the tastings. read more

We are always happy with our visits to Gard! The space is perfectly tucked in the heart of downtown Walla Walla and provides a comfortable spot for enjoying the sights and sounds of our quaint city. The staff are knowledgeable, informative and pleasant with each pour! We had the pleasure of attending several wineries for the Spring Release (2018) and found Gard to stand out above all the rest. Every bottle was absolutely delicious! We will come back again and again and look forward to all future Gard wines! read more

One of my favorite tasting experiences in Walla Walla. The hostess, red haired but i forgot her name (pictured on this site), tasted most of the wines to make sure they were right or had not been sitting for too long as I was her first customer of the day. She was very knowledgable. She was offering mostly reds, did offer to open a white I was interested in. I walked away with two bottles and have enjoyed these. I did not expect a quality experience in a non-winery setting- but heartedly recommend this downtown setting. The wines,I felt, were very good. read more

We (10 of us) had a private tasting/pizza party after hours in September at the downtown Walla Walla tasting room and Linda was our pourer/educator and hostess. We tried 6 wines and Linda's knowledge of the winery, owners, and the wines themselves was informative and interesting.
