I was on the hunt for a Japanese pagoda Lantern and went to quite a few nurseries and pottery stores, including two in San Jose, two in Cupertino, and one in Moss Landing. Garden Accents had a very unique variety of Japanese zen garden statues and other types of decor for a variety of landscaping designs (not just Asian themed). But what stood out the most to me was how friendly their staff is. Also, though it may not be obvious from the freeway as you drive by, they have the most adorable gift shop, which has an enchanting zen vibe. Very large and full of unique decor items ranging from hanging glass, wood sculptures, ceramics, and a great selection of tiny fairy garden accessories. A staff member walked the lot with us helping us locate what we were looking for. We arrived looking for some ground cover and left with a tree, six shrubs, and a houseplant. This is a beautiful place. When you walk in they have this Asian serenity garden. Really cool. They also have displays of other gardens as well. They have really cool displays. Of all the nurseries, I like this place. They have plants, I was able to find a plant that other nurseries did not have, but it is more than a plant store. I feel that it is more of a store to allow you to display your plants. The variety of pottery is enormous. If you want your garden to be special or you want to give your plants that extra special "pop" then this place is a must. read more

But once you arrive and park you realize all the great outdoor garden decor they have. They were very helpful and let you look around answering any questions you had. I stopped in to start building my collection of quality pots and instantly fell in love with the place! The display gardens are gorgeous. They have a wide selection of pots, fountains, bird houses, statues and so much more! On their website they state: " The vision was a garden center to inspire the customers -- not just to sell product. We wanted to provide a place where garden lovers become inspired and where gardening ideas could flourish." I can say they definitely practice what they preach! Robert, a friendly employee at Garden Accents, took the time to discuss succulents, vertical gardening, and some of the cool projects they are doing at Garden Accents. He even followed up with some pictures, and emailed them to me! I feel inspired! I can't say enough about how much I loved visiting Garden Accents. All the employees were friendly and helpful. If your looking to remodel your lawn, this should be your one stop shop. The staff are knowledgeable, approachable and very friendly. I went in today to purchase some weed killer for some oxalis that sprouted in my front lawn. They sell very good weed killers that are safe on grass and tough on weeds. I went with Turflon Ester which needs to be diluted in water and covers about 10,000 sq feet. If your looking to buy grass or should I say sod and you want something special like Double Dwarf Champion or Prestige vs the Fescue that you get at Home Depot, Nursery or Lowes then stop by the grass farm. The turf, sod is a reasonable price and much higher quality. They grow it locally here in Gilroy and Morgan Hill. If you need items in bulk, you could drive down to the Palm Ave location, 10 lbs of seed or rolls of sod. They also carry weed killer, fertilizer and other grass improvement products. You can either have the sod delivered or if you bring a pickup truck they can load it for you. You can't go wrong with the turf that is sold here. I used Champion for front yard (less traffic) and Prestige in the back (high traffic area). If you want to purchase in smaller quantities then Garden Accents has you covered, the showroom and store is much, much larger, they also carry the same items, along with large pots, patio decorations, signage, lots of knick knacks, stuff for the fountain, garden accents, tools, etc. I had to go there after this trip to pickup one lb of grass seed. 4 stars read more

Stopped here on a whim. Their ceramic pots are priced pretty competitively and very good selection separated by color. They're not cheap but for the quality you are easily getting a better deal than at Home Depot or Lowe's and supporting an independent business. I scored two healthy little Leucadendron Ebony plants for $26 each which again is a fair price for the plant material. I will return! read more

Very friendly staff, large supply of pots (All shapes/sizes) and welcoming atmosphere. We drove around all day Saturday looking for either a tall rectangle pot or oval pot. Big box stores did not have them... Chain nursery's did not have them. Garden Accents came through and had a supply to choose from. Definitely not a bargain basement price, but reasonable. My daughter and I had the opportunity to finally visit this place after seeing it off the freeway. I'm so glad we did. We were instantly greeted by Maria. She was very friendly and walked us around the various selections of statues and water fountains. Once inside, we were warmed by a nice cup of complimentary herbal tea. Always see this place on the highway. Finally made an effort to stop by. LOVED everything sold here but a bit pricy. Same prices as big box stores such as Orchard Supply but way more selections. I was able to get some great prices on some planters in the 50% off section. The customer service is great, no pressure to buy. Worker Mara was very knowledgeable and helpful. She said if you sign up on their emailing list, they will send notices of sales and events such as 20%. They have fountains, statutes and plants for 20% off for Father's day special. Placed an order for sod a week in advance, rented a truck for the day. Running about 20 minutes late called to notify them but no one answered. Arrived at 10:25am to be told that our order of sod had been given away! I showed the young lady at the register my call log showing that I was trying to call and no one answered, she replied with, "well there is nothing I can do now." There was plenty of other pallets of sod that were still waiting to be picked up......UPDATE: The Home Depot saved the day. I didn't realize Home Depot and Lowe's both carry SOD ready for pick up daily, no advanced orders need to be placed. read more

First visit, August 2018, implying there will be more! Pot selection of varying size and design is extensive and beyond those seen at the usual places; the reason for my visit. Some comments by others: expensive prices. I disagree; plants well cared for: those for sale, yes, protected from elements. But those planted in and scattered around in varying size pots were stressed and needed water. Sad to see a plant in distress. A very hot, drying wind was blowing through the property. Pots are heavy!! I am disappointed in the $125.00 delivery charge to San Jose. A charge is to be expected, but this amount seems self-defeating. I may not spend a couple hundred dollars for pots, because I cannot handle the extreme weight and the delivery charge of $125. To offset, combine deliveries to SJ. Or use a sliding scale, delivery charge amount, subject to amount of purchase. In the meantime, if a second visit, I'll enlist help of a couple strong arms that own a truck! read more

What a great place to browse for inspiration! I love the walk through gardens of different types. It helps put different items into the real world and helps sort tastes. The prices are expensive. There is a sale area, but for the most part the items there are not the "treasures" the sign proclaims, but broken pieces for only 50% markdown. read more

Called ahead to reserve grass for a small section of yard by our driveway. Installed it today. What a difference it makes to have the dark green grass next to the newly added bougainvillea climbing the bright white custom built trellises (photo posted on Google+). I would give this place zero stars if I could! Go next door to Horizon Landscape Nursery, they actually care about the customer. Let me tell whey Garden Accents is a place to stay away from. Every day I drive this business as you can see it from 101. It looks great and they do have good stuff, but let me tell you a few problems. 1) VERY overpriced - When you get the prices you will see 2) HORRIBLE customer service - My wife made the mistake of buying a fountain from their garden area. It was a fountain that was running and they offered her 20% off with a return within 30 days if we (I wasn't with her) didn't like it. Once we got home and saw how bad the fountain looked when it wasn't running we decided to bring it back the next day. This is where things get bad. When my wife brought the fountain back some overweight grumpy lady told her that she has to pay a 20% restocking fee! She then dropped that to 10% (We are talking a used fountain from their garden area, not a special order or something brought in for us). The restocking fee came out to like $50!!!!! FOR NOTHING!!!!! THe lady was a total rude bitch to my wife and then when the workers unloaded the fountain, they made comments that the electrical cord was spliced and that my wife was a women and wouldn't understand what that was or why it was done! We did nothing to the fountain or cord and this was just uncalled for. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR, DON'T GO HERE! Next door is cheaper and they give way better service. One last thing, called the owner to complain the next day and have still not recieved a call. read more

You want BIG ceramic pots for your garden or house for some decent size trees or shrubs, this is the place to go. The inventory is HUGE and nicely laid out. Help is really friendly and doesn't mind moving pots for you to see better. Prices are pretty decent. Don't be tempted to turn into the nursery/garden shop that is literally right before Garden Accents. They have nice stuff but not nearly as much as Garden Accents. Go to the end of the lane and on the right you'll find your wares. It's located about a mile off the freeway but you can view it from the freeway. You just have to make a big circle around to get to the parking lot. read more

I was introduced to Garden Accents a few years ago. Since then I travel the 50 plus miles every couple months. They have the largest inventory of any Garden Shop I have ever visited. But it is not just the "quantity" that is impressive, but the staff select the most unusal and most beautiful pieces to display on their beautiful grounds. Yes I do go there to purchase new landscaping pieces for my property, and yes I do buy gift certicates there for my dearest friends who also appreciate beauty and quality. But some days I go there just to walk through their French garden, the English Garden, the whimsical garden. What a find...lots of unique items and very relaxing environment. The staff is super friendly. Items are displayed to give you ideas on what you can do to your outdoor garden.
