This is the dreamiest nursery!!! We love coming here so much; they have the best selection. All the plants are beautiful and healthy, and they have a great variety. Prices are a little high, but honestly I think you pay for what you get! Totally willing to pay a bit more for the great quality that they have. Everyone is friendly, helpful, and they even have a nursery cat roaming around that we love to try and spot. Can't wait for our next visit!!!

This is probably my favorite nursery in the area. They have such a big selection of everything that you need for your garden. I always felt like I got lost in plants heaven everytime I was here. I got 2 of my fiddle leave figs here a few years ago, and they were beautiful. I also picked up most of my planters from Garden Heights. The people working outside always greeted me or asked if I needed help with something when they saw me walking by. I was here last week to inquire about planting service and Nick went above and beyond to help me with all of my questions.

As a self proclaimed "crazy plant lady" the discovery of this place was a mixed blessing. The selection was enormous, consisting of a wide variety of both indoor and outdoor plants. The indoor plant selection was remarkable, including unique variations of widely popular indoor plants. I even found two "thai constellation" Monstera's. I had to refrain myself. I didn't explore the outdoor section as much because I don't have room for much outdoor landscaping. They had immature, as well as mature plants to choose from. The selection of pottery was unique and exciting. They had a small selection of air plants as well. Staff gave me my space to browse, but were quick with answers, and, very helpful. I loved that the plants include a description of care for improved outcomes at home.

Let me repeat my opening line from my review back in 2013, "The staff here is very knowledgeable and eager to help their customers." Seven years later, this is still true. The customer service here, is truly the gold standard. My dogs nanny, gifted me with two beautiful African Violets. I found the perfect spot in my sun-room for them to be inside and have ample light. However, I do not have a green thumb. I watered them and I may have over watered. They shriveled up and I was losing them. I was besides myself, I wanted to save them. Due to the pandemic, Garden Heights was closed and I could not get the assistance I needed at Home Depot or Lowe's. When GHN finally opened, I headed over immediately for help. Told them my situation and they knew the solution. They recommended a self-watering pot for my violets and they are flourishing now. In addition to the great customer service, GHN is practicing safe social distancing and enforcing a face mask for customers and staff policy. Will I return? - Yes! When: June 27, 2020 Why: Self-Watering Pot Shopping

(4 weeks ago) In short: Very friendly and efficient staff. They held my tree for a few days after I purchased it. When I picked it up, they loaded it into my Prius with no issues. I'd go back for sure. Details: 6 or 7 gallon Autumn Blaze Maple (Acer x freemanii 'Jeffersred'), $169, 8-9 feet tall. This wasn't cheap in my book, but I suspect it's a fair price for a local nursery. Very happy with the tree and content with the price. Note: the 15-ish gallon version was considerably more expensive, yet only a foot or two taller, so the 6/7 gal was comparably a great deal. Tree has been planted a month now, and looks great! Picture below is from today.

Wow, what a outstanding selection of moderate sized trees, shrubs and flowers!

Well, this was my first visit to Garden Heights and even though it was raining quite a bit on me - I loved browsing their selection of plants. The employees were friendly (three of them offered me help - and they were very knowledgeable about what they sold. Are they more expensive than Home Depot - yep. Are most of the plants ones that you would never find at Home Depot - yup. If you don't know a ton about plants and/or landscaping- these folks are VERY knowledgeable. You may spend a couple bucks more but if you ask for their help - you will end up with the perfect plant(s) for your perfect spot. I didn't buy anything today because I was gathering ideas. I have plenty of photos and I will be back soon.

Garden Heights Nursery is a popular garden shop conveniently located near 40 and Big Bend. They have a large variety from desktop plants to ornamental trees. Their staff is really knowledgeable and offer suggestions specific to your space and lighting options. We purchased a small tree for our front yard plus some flowering bushes of different colors. They get new options in frequently I definitely recommend checking them out!

Three new bushes, will grow to be 3-4'

Sales lady was rude. Sort of silly to spend over $80 dollars on one plant and one sprig of dried flowers and get treated so poorly.

Always helpful and the owner is really nice. I went in today to buy pansies. They have a nice selection. Granted the weather hasn't been great for spring gardening but that's ST. LOUIS. The prettiest noise was going around the outside of the nursery. It was the prettiest glass wind chimes. I had to go inside and pay. I told the girl that this was a good day to sell chimes because it was so windy and they sounded so beautiful. No response, just stared at me. I mentioned that I would like to get them for a birthday present. No response, just stared at me. There was absolutely no one there. I would be grateful to get a sale, have someone to talk to. Get some freaking personality!! I would do a better job than that. I tried to ask her a question about pansy dollars and you would have thought I asked what sized bra she was wearing!!! Pffft!! I may NEVER go there again and I spend a good amount of money there I can go to Wiethop (while they're open), Rolling Ridge, lots of choices out there...please have people who can converse with customers. It doesn't take they much effort and it is REALLY important for your business. Sincerely, disgusted customer

We decided to start naturalizing our back yard. We want to make an inviting space for pollinators,…read moreprimarily, but we also want a space that is allowed to do its own thing. We stopped raking 2 years ago, and that made a huge difference: we have oodles of fireflies and butterflies, way more than our neighbors who do the whole well-manicured lawn thing. Anyway, we talked to a person at the prairie booth at the Earth Day festival about native plants, and the website pointed us to Sugar Creek! We were very pleasantly surprised at the amount of options here. We were able to find all sorts of native plants to introduce into our yard. We really found it easy to navigate since they were sectioned into native and sun needs. It made it very easy once we figured it out. We were only able to afford about 6 plants the first time we came here and 4 the next time. They are a bit pricey, just fair warning. However, the selection is great and it's supporting a business that isn't a huge corporation, so it's worth a visit!
