Went to Colors of Spring to get some extra landscaping rocks. The worker wasn't sure if the rocks were for sale so she made a call to I assume the owner. They cut me an incredible deal on the rocks. I ended up paying about 1/3 of what I was expecting to pay. The workers were super nice. They were inside having a great time telling jokes, and just loving their time at work. I do not know much about gardening, but the plant selection seemed to be pretty extensive. Incredibly grateful to the folks over at Colors of Spring for hooking me up and being such a good time. This is quite a delayed review- but better late than never. :) My mom really wanted some hanging plants for Mother's Day. I always drive by Colors of Spring and notice the beautiful plants outside (when they're open). We went together to pick them out, and loved the different varieties that they offered. We parked on Fyler for street parking, and walked in the back. Lots of different areas to look and choose from. I'm the furthest from a plant pro, so I wouldn't be able to tell you exactly what I saw. However; they looked well taken care of and of good quality. There were also a large variety on the outside of the front of the shop on Watson. We found a couple we liked to check out and the staff member working explained to my mom how to properly take care of her choices- water amount, sunlight amount. It was a quick and easy experience, I would definitely go back to find more in the future! read more

Weither you are shopping for perennials or annuals, Colors of Spring is a place you need to check out. The other day, I was searching for hanging baskets for my four Shepard's Hooks in my backyard and had success at Colors of Spring. This year we are wanting to attract Hummingbirds to our yard, so we are only using red and purple flowers to increase our chances. I have always been a fan of Petunias, and I guess you could say it is genetic. My mom and her twin sister both had a green thumb when it came to Petunias. They use to pick the old blooms off in the morning as they enjoyed a cup of coffee. I wonder how amazed they'd be with these new Wave Petunias that are a hybrid and no longer need the old blooms removed. As I shopped, I asked one of the young ladies if their Petunias were Wave and she replied, "yes, all of them". She and I then shared a laugh on who wants to pick and pull off old blooms daily. My hanging basket has doubled in size since I hung it in my backyard. Now I want to see Hummingbirds feeding off their nectar. read more

I live right up the street from Colors of Spring and LOVE there shop. I've been going there for many years but more regularly since I've lived in the neighborhood for over 10 years. Their prices may be higher than Home Depot at times but their service is amazing and they are always extremely helpful. If I ever have any questions, if they can't answer, which has maybe happened once, they'll find someone who can. They go out of their way for excellent customer service and I'll keep going back because of it. The owner is funny, dry sense of humour which I love and she knows her stuff! And Gary L. who's review said they were rude to him because apparently, he showed up after the store was closed - They are there ALL day and when they close, they close. Same with any business. That's how the cookie crumbles. If you're that easily offended then maybe, just a thought, show up when they are open! Or better yet, stay home. read more

Great in the neighborhood corner nursery. We go to Bayer's also. But love supporting local. So we goto all. :) They have a great option for pumpkins and gourds in the fall. I've been buying plants here for years and they've never been warm and fuzzy people. Also, their business seems to be for sale year after year and their season of sales is much shorter than anyone else's. Today's experience was equally unfriendly and there are lots of other nurseries in town, so I won't be back again. read more

Owner is so incredibly rude! Tried to ask a question and they were busy bragging about how much that had in sales for the day and dancing around. The owner made a comment about me standing by the exit since I was trying to stay 6ft apart from others and at this point was so annoyed with the rudeness I put my item back and walked away. I had a long day of work already with working in healthcare that was just wanted to go to the flower shop on Hampton instead so I could get home. The owner started yelling at me 'are you kidding me? screw you' and 'F*** off'. Telling me how busy they have been all day. Two other customers were in the area as this was happening as I was in complete shock as they were witnessing her going nuts as I was walking away. I called the shop to see if this was owner - hoping it had not had been and she proudly said it was her and she was 'sorry but doesn't understand what she needs to be sorry for'. I was only going to buy two hanging baskets so I guess that wasn't important enough for them to just be kind to their customers! read more

Never thought I'd be going to so many home improvement stores and buying soil, plants, seeds... Colors of spring came highly recommended and did not disappoint. Very knowledgeable staff almost like landscapers for your yard! We followed some recommendations, didn't spend too much money, and our house already shows the benefits! Support our local business and look here before the big stores! read more

I just recently stopped in here to get some hanging plants and flowers and they were so nice and knowledgeable and seem to have a consistently wonderful selection of beautiful flowers and plants. And it's right by my house. I will def be using them again. read more

The plants at Colors of Spring are beautiful and healthy but the ladies are rude. They are frazzled and run around huffing about the work they have to do. I have consistently been treated with inpatients. Maybe they should hire some help if it is too hectic for them to handle... I think they just want to protect their bottom line rather than serve customers. I'll go elsewhere. read more

Went there yesterday after visiting several plant nurseries. I felt they had quite a bit to choose from. But what makes me give them five stars? Their service. I wish I had taken the name of the lady who was so gracious in helping pick out house plants and educating me. It's obvious she loves her job, was incredibly knowledgeable, and genuine in her interactions. I noticed it wasn't just me she was like this with, it was several customers which made it easy to approach her with my questions. I'll definitely be back. read more

I bought flowers here for my rental property a couple of months ago, and the employees kindly answered all my questions about perennials, watering, and all that mumbo jumbo I know nothing about. They have a very nice selection and sell some cool gardening accessories as well. The only down-side is the parking. They don't have a private lot so people just park on the street, which can get mighty busy and a little dangerous for kiddos during rush hour. read more

My husband & I are avid gardeners and many of our trees, shrubs, perennials, bird baths, etc. have been purchased from Colors of Spring. The quality of their plants, etc. never fails to be top rate. I purchased an ornamental grass from COS about 7 yrs ago that the owner mentioned was safe & healthy for dogs to consume. I dog sit, so I was sold. Best purchase that I've ever made. All of my dogs loved this tender-bladed grass and munched it with gusto. It was a beautiful, easy care plant that looked lovely through all seasons. Sadly, my husband suffered a TBI the evening we had dug up the grass. He made a miracle recovery, thank God. Because my doggies really missed this grass, I called the owner to ask if she could help me identifying it I had the year of purchase, pictures of it & reminded her of the dog-friendly qualities. She was extremely rude, saying, "I can't help you", chuckled and abruptly hung up the phone. The next day I stopped by Bayer's Garden Shop & asked if they could possibly help me identify the grass. They downloaded my pics & called me about an hour later with information of a grass that fit the description, even sent me online links for more information. We had been good customers of Bayer's over the years; now we'll be exclusive clients. Moral of the story: "Don't bite the hand that feeds you." read more

We used Colors of Spring for our landscaping, and they did a wonderful job. I always wanted landscaping that was a combination of colors and would transition from spring-summer-fall, and Colors of Spring helped me achieve that. Tom came to our house, reviewed the space, talked with us, and came up with a beautiful design with mixtures of shapes, colors, sizes, and seasonal blooms. I am excited to see the seasonal transitions and what it will look like as the plants mature. They tore out all of the old, expanded/prepped our beds, laid edgers, sodded some areas, and fixed a retaining wall-- they even fixed a gutter that wasn't dumping into our yard and replanted some bulbs I saved. It was a little slow going at first due to the weather, but they worked hard and finished it. I had SEVERAL recommendations to use Colors of Spring, and after my initial consult, I didn't feel like i needed to get additional bids. The quote was itemized, and the price was what I was expecting. Landscaping isn't cheap, but I feel like Colors of Sping is very reasonable-- plus they guarantee the plants for a year. I would definitely recommend them to friends and family for landscaping. read more
