That know plenty about gardening and the plants they are selling. You will pay a bit more here for certain things vs going to a well known business but it's worth the price. The plants are high quality. They are not cheap in price but the quality is worth what you pay. They have a loyalty program, and I believe they still offer informational classes to an extent (please verify). They have been in business forever, as it was run by the father originally. Wow! I was truly impressed. I had spent the morning at both Wiethop's and Sherwood Forest just down the street. I had been to Wiethop's several times but today was the first time I visited Sherwood Forest and Greenscape Gardens. Wiethop's had the cheap herbs and veggies I wanted. Sherwood Forest had the bay laurel I'd been looking for. Greenscape Gardens had an extensive selection for anything I couldn't find at the other two. (Plus they had larger bay laurel at twice the price, but I am fine with the small on from Sherwood Forest.) I live in the city but I think I can bypass my usual spot (Garden Heights on Big Bend) and come here instead. Prices were reasonable for the size and quality of the plants. The employees I encountered were helpful and friendly. Can't wait to return! read more

You know how there are a select few individuals who believe Eden originated in the Midwest. Well for once in their lives they are right. This garden center is my Eden. Unlike other garden centers I've been to (and there have been a lot) I can tell that each and every plant here is thriving. Another fabulous garden center! Excellent selection of both indoor and outdoor plants. Unique to this location was the pollinator path which educates and encourages outdoor plants that support bees and butterflies. I rent a townhouse but ended up building a fabulous outdoor garden for our pollinating friends. Huge selection with very informative signage. I visit and purchase from this garden center at least twice a yr., and bring a group of friends along too. So we shop and more importantly we buy. But this most recent visit, we were met with down right rude workers, asking us to move out of their way as we shopped. After about the 3rd time , I was like this is terrible. Look I know you need to get product out, but when you have customers shopping, you should be thankful we are there shopping. do a better job at customer service. very disappointed read more

Greenscape Gardens is an absolutely show-stopping garden center. This location has beautiful indoor and outdoor plants, containers, pots, décor, and even local honey. I came here looking for succulents for someone who has loved Cacti before them became trendy. Greenscape made it hard for me to pick the right gift there were so many choices. I eventually came to a decision of a plant plus a gift card so the Birthday Girl could come choose another item on her own. Greenscape has potting stations where you can pot plants on site with the correct potting soil and decorative filler to hide the mud in the pot. Several plants made their way into my home and garden from my visit. I am loving my first Pilea from Greenspace Gardens and look forward to sharing it with family soon. I actually need to get back to Greenscape soon. They have won me over as a new customer. read more

What a major disappointment. I so wanted to like this nursery, but they dropped the ball big time. They have Neiman - Marcus quality plants, but the customer service of a Family Dollar. I am working on a major landscaping project and have been visiting all the major and small nurseries through out the metro area and this one by far was the worst. On the day I visited, it was the third out of five. I normally do not like to drop $ figures, but on this given day I spent between $100 - $400 at each nursery. I did not spend a blood cent at Greenscape. When we arrived we asked if they had a specific plant, the two girls working the counter, were to busy talking and flirting with a young man who kept lift his shirt to show his belly. All they could do was point and tell us "down there, you'll see them". Wow, all the other nurseries we shopped at took us to what we wanted and helped educate us on the needs and care of each plant. Not here, they just point and direct. I guess that is why they have such good signage so customers can wait on themselves. Why not put in self checkout too. When we got to the area we needed, we did find another employee who must have been the "water boy" because he couldn't really answer any questions we had. He at least said, he was sorry for not knowing. We looked around a little more and left. As we got into our car, I looked inside and the two girls were still behind the counter. I think they are trained like a dog with an invisible fence, and they can not get out from behind that counter. Keep in mind, we were the only people there besides the man flashing his belly and got not service what so ever. I do not need to think I will not be back, I know I will not be back. I went to Greenscape Gardens today with my boyfriend. We decided we want to start a small garden but had no idea what we wanted/what we were doing in general. Everyone at Greenscape was super helpful/knowledgable and friendly. We explained our situation (novice growers, west-facing, lots of sun) and were given all sorts of suggestions for what would work (indoor, outdoor, flowers, veggies, herbs, small trees, oh my!). The whole nursery is really beautiful, and I really enjoyed just walking around and taking it all in. We ended up with some tomato plants, petunias, an aloe vera, two pepper plants, a basil plant, and a medium sized ficus. We didn't want to go overboard, but I have high hopes for our plants and will definitely be back for future planting needs! read more

Excellent plant nursery! Likely the best that I have visited in the St. Louis area and better than 90% of the nurseries in Chicagoland. The selection is great! The layout of the various areas is very nicely done. The plants were all very healthy looking and prices were very fair. One of the other standout features is the workers. They don't bother you but they do ask if you need assistance from time to time. What's different than many nurseries is how knowledgeable everyone is about the plants. Kudos to all!!! read more

After visiting a variety of nurseries for our landscaping needs, we decided to swing by Greenscape and 'look around'. WOW!!!! What a wonderful nursery and great customer service!! We had no idea what we wanted or where to start and CRAIG (Shrubs) and ERIN (Perennials) were our saviors. The plants were amazing and the variety gave us a tremendous amount to choose from. Craig was patient and so very knowledge with us. He looked at our pictures, listened to our questions, showed us all the options, staged the view and changed out our selections when we changed our minds. Then just when we knew there was no way everything we bought would fit . . . Craig worked his magic and everything fit amazingly into the vehicle. The people working with the plants and the plant selection is outstanding, but the cashiers are incredibly rude. I am a very good customer, but have had multiple instances of rude cashiers. I have purchased probably 25 containers of liquid root stimulator over the past few years, but had one container that had been slightly opened and diluted. I brought it back and was rudely told that would never happen and I was out of luck. Today they closed the registers without telling customers when customers were still in the store (they moved the closing time up an hour for the next few weeks). At 4:03 when I wanted to buy a shrub, they rudely said come back tomorrow. I asked why she didn't tell me that they were closing when she saw me and she snapped "it is posted on our website". Best place to find Missouri native plants, deer-resistant plants, plants for super wet or super dry areas, hanging plants, and beautiful containers. Tell them what your house / yard needs and they will set you up to make your surroundings beautiful all year long. So glad they're here! My mother in law gave me a couple gift certificates to Greenscape because an organization that she is involved with was selling them, so we headed out there today to take a look and spend some money. It's in an easy to find location on the corner of Daugherty Ferry and Barrett Station but there are a couple other nurseries on Barrett Station so don't confuse them! The flowers are plentiful and nice. Lots of kinds, grouped by how much sun they needed. Friendly staff who asked if we needed help or were finding things ok. There are a couple things that really set this place apart though, and I'm a frequent gardener, so I've been to many nurseries! 1. They have chickens. And ducks. Not for sale - they are in a fenced area with a coop. When I asked if they sold them, they told me that they have them because they are so integral to gardening. It's true - major respect to them for having them. They also sell the eggs! 2. They have a Farmer's Market on site. It was pretty small, but the prices were ok, everything looked good too. There were signs about where the things came from. Some weren't local, but most were. They also sell fresh fish and eggs for consumption. 3. They have really, really nice gardens interspersed in the walkways and in between tables with flowers on them. Now, man places have things planted, especially in pots, but they have real GARDENS with lots of veggies, herbs, and other plants. WOW! It was really impressive. They even had some beans trellised and you could see the tomatoes growing. TOP of the notch... I would go back just to watch the chickens. I would love to talk to the owner of this place sometime because I think they really set themselves apart. I will drive extra to come here. read more

When I moved into my house, I wanted to plant a tree. That was 2.5 years ago. I never planted a tree. When I had my son, I wanted to plant a tree. That was 20 months ago and I never planted a tree. When my sweet Kitty died on November 21, I realized we didn't even own a shovel. So I headed out to Home Depot to get one. I was nearing Greenscape Gardens and it occurred to me that I wanted to plant a tree to honor Kitty. I also figured I would be able to buy a shovel there. The lady working there was very nice. She was sympathetic about my loss and she suggested a serviceberry tree. She told me about them and even showed me what they looked like in the different seasons online. She also gave me 50% off on the tree. I inquired about buying a shovel as well but she recommended I go to Home Depot. They do carry shovels at Greenscape but they're a little pricey and she indicated I could get the same thing from Home Depot for much cheaper. Great service. We needed some veggie plants and a few annuals to spruce up the yard. They had what we needed, for less cost, and better quality. We will definitely revisit this little nursery again. Special note: They have the Bhut Jolokia pepper plants; the hottest pepper in the world. Even hotter than the Habanero and the Scotch Bonnet.
