Tonight it was Garden Parc Brunch After Dark this Thursday. Drinks were amazing as always. If I could post the video of my flower bomb with sparklers I would. The food was great. They brought out a sampler of breakfast items. Kale greens, grits, deviled eggs, French toast, wings, bacon, grilled vegetables, salmon patty, sausage were all provided on the sampler. Hookah was sold this night. The hookah vendor was really good. I tried my first sugar cane (no tobacco) hookah. Watermelon was so sweet and tasted like a jolly rancher. The ambiance is always nice. Hello Foodies and Friends!! First things first. This is not a restaurant . This is an event space. From the moment you step onto the carpet you are met with garden vibes and a wonder event concierge named Renee. Yes I said carpet!!! White Carpet!! Renee was so warm and welcoming. All housekeeping rules are provided before you enter the venue and mentioned again once you are seated. There are only 3 times slots available 11a, 1p, and 3pm . Each time slot has a 2 hour limit. Brunch started on time and promptly at 11am for us. 1p and 3pm slots fill up fast so book ASAP. The live band starts at 12 . It was perfect for our 11am slot by the time we were finished eating the live music began. The food was very good. Everything provided was tasty and full of flavor. When you arrive to your table , appetizers are there greeting you. I absolutely loved that!! Next our servers came over and introduced themselves while pouring our first of many glasses of bottomless mimosas. The servers kept our glasses filled and the food coming. The star of the show was The French Toast. The French toast was the only item that was not bottomless. I believe there's a two piece limit. The bottomless mimosas are only for the first hour. I really enjoyed this concept of bottomless dining. Why? 1. Everything is paid for upfront including gratuity. 2. Attended a private party that was family style eating and pre paid, with the exclusion of the drinks. Pros: the first goes out to Dj Che Mack. She has songs for everyone to groove to. Never stopped dancing in my seat. The food was decent, I would say 6 or 7 out of 10. The drinks were kinda weak but I like them sweet anyway so it didn't bother me much. Aesthetics inside were pretty. Our party was well over 50 people and the wait staff were pretty attentive considering. Didn't remove our plates or drinks glasses once finished but :/ Cons: neighborhood is a little sketchy. "Security" outside was unnecessarily snappy. Garden Parc wasn't exactly what I expected. While the interior was nice, outside it was located less that a few hundred feet in any direction from boarded up/abandoned properties. I believe the area is on the rise, but it surprised me nonetheless. [ THE EXPERIENCE ] I've had this place bookmarked for a while and managed to snag the last available opening via their online booking system two night before. I must admit I was slightly annoyed that gratuity was automatically included for one person and it also asked if I wanted to give an additional tip. I mean, I haven't even experienced the service yet. I arrived for brunch on a Sunday about 25 minutes early for my 1pm seating. My timing allowed me a great parking space in the tight parking area. The 11am seating was just beginning to trickle out while the line for the 1pm crowd began to build. Parties of 2, 3 and 4 persons were called first and then larger parties. Even though I was second to arrive, I was actually seated almost last, along with one other solo diner. That process took about 20 minutes. [ THE FOOD ] Before long a server brought a few small trays to the table which included peel-n-eat jumbo shrimp, kale salad, cheese grits, seafood salad, sweet potato muffins and a plater of fruit (red & green grapes + a slice of pineapple, orange & half a strawberry). Also included were bottomless mimosas for the first hour, but there seemed to be no alcohol in them. Next came 3 fried chicken winglets, two chicken nugget-sized pieces of fried fish, a decent cut of salmon (about 6oz), a cup of stewed cabbage, breakfast potatoes, one chicken sausage link, one slice of Applewood smoked bacon and one deviled egg. WHILE ALL ITEMS ARE BOTTOMLESS, my servers attention was focused more on the larger parties, so getting seconds for me was rather difficult. Other tables with larger parties didn't seem to have as much of a problem. Most every other table also got their food long before I did. Not a complaint, just an observance. I did manage to get a second helping of wings and seafood salad within the hour or so I was there. I also got a taste of their French Toast & Cajun veggie pasta, which came nearly at the point my stomach began to reach its limit. It wasn't a lot of food, but all the mimosa's and filler dishes were working their magic in-between the long waits for more food. Overall everything was very good, but I enjoyed the chicken sausage, Applewood smoked bacon, fried chicken wings and kale w/smoked turkey the most. The kale was actually better than collard greens and had a hint of sweetness. [ SERVICE / ATMOSPHERE ] If you've ever watched ants collect food, that is exactly what their servers look like. Always on the go from the kitchen to their tables and always looking as if they might crash into one another but never did. I was impressed. One young lady with reddish-brown locks was incredibly hard working. I want to sit at one of her tables next time, as her tables seemed to lack for nothing. There is a live jazz band that began playing shortly after the wings came out, around the 45 minute mark. Most of their covers were Bobby Brown songs, but included several other R&B oldies! They also took time to hype up those celebrating birthdays. It was fun to watch about 6 different tables dance out the song. That's what's up! [ COMPLAINT DEPARTMENT ] Some items listed on the Bottomless Brunch Menu were not available, including what I was most eager to try when booking my reservation: the mini-crab cakes. The hostess said she would check the kitchen & see if any were available, but never came back with an answer. Also missing were the grilled wings, roasted veggies and yogurt/granola. I was rather disappointed considering the $55 price, but I suppose the live music gave me some solace. Lastly, If I'm being transparent, solo dining is rather uncomfortable for some and while I'm generally not bothered, it felt like it was a nuisance to find a table for one. I can't really articulate it, you'd have just had to be there to see what I mean. It almost felt like I was being shunned for coming solo and taking up a table for two even though it was the only option available when booking. Not intentional (I don't think), just low priority. [ FINAL THOUGHTS ] While I did have some disappointments, I enjoyed the overall experience and most importantly the food was tasty. The only item I truly didn't care for was the fried fish and that is partly because it was too thin and room temperature. I still feel slightly jilted by not getting crab cakes, but I'd be willing to return with the hope that won't happen again. It was definitely a wonderful crowd of couples, families and lady brunch groups who came out in full fashion. This place is amazing! I went to their Sunday afternoon brunch on Mother's Day and it did not disappoint. The ambiance, service, and the live music made the experience that much better. All the food was amazing and the music wasn't loud and overbearing. The food was good that we hardly got any pictures of it. Some of my favorites included their kale salad (which I was surprised really I liked), sweet potato corn bread, a pasta dish that I didn't get the name of, kale greens (also another surprise hit), grits, shrimp, wings, bacon, and their French toast (it was like melt in your mouth good). It was a new and exciting experience! You need to make reservations in advanced and you'll then pay for the entire party while making your reservation (gratuity and taxes are applied also). This system is actually great since all you'll have to do is get there, enjoy yourself, then get up and leave without worrying about payment. The inside the building is very nice and surprisingly spacious. They're able to accommodate a range of party sizes with ease and make it very comfortable. The service was phenomenal and staff is friendly and attentive. You will always have something on your table, whether that be your next course or filled drink. Booking First I'd recommend booking a time asap if you can find a slot open. I chose the Sunday morning slot at 11 am because they were sold out for the 1 pm time. If you can get 1 pm, go for it because then the band is already there playing. If not, 11 am works just fine as they will start playing half way into your dining experience. Payment Be prepared to pay for all of your guest upfront so let them know to either pay you in advance or directly after you book the slots. This is a pricey dining experience, but it felt great not pulling my wallet out after I was nice and full. Location This restaurant is located in a very unsuspecting location. What it is surrounded by vs. what it looks like inside are like night and day. Parking fills up very quickly so I'd recommend getting there at least 10 to 15 mins early so you don't have to hassle with finding a parking spot. Food & Service Our waitress BreAnna was amazing, attentive and quick. She explained all the rules and order in which our food would arrive. She brought out a few cold small plates, shrimp, kale salad, sweet potato muffins and seafood salad. Fruit slices were already placed on the table and unlimited mimosas are served for the first hour. We enjoyed the kale and shrimp most of all. The larger dishes consisted of potatoes, fried chicken, fried fish, salmon, deviled eggs, greens with smoked Turkey, bacon and sausage patties, grits and chicken pasta. Deviled eggs, salmon, fish, chicken wings, potatoes, veggies, shrimp and some other things I know I'm missing. The food was great! The food was really good, and I was very happy they had seafood options. The brought of fried shrimp fried, chicken wings, and French toast. They also had a tiered stand that with greens (with turkey meat), salmon croquettes, grilled veggies (zucchini and squash), deviled eggs, bacon, and potatoes. The food was excellent! The service was all about southern hospitality, which I love. The music was good, but I always find it somewhat annoying yelling over music to talk with people at dinner. The decor was lovely--very picturesque instagrammable :). They had clean gender neutral restrooms. It was karaoke night--I think so that was cute and fun. Two things. Our seats were so low. I went here for a birthday brunch and with exceptions of a few things, I honestly really enjoyed myself. So let's get into it. Location and parking The building itself is fine, but the area around it is a little interesting. It's across the street from a convenience store and a dollar general. We almost passed it save for the name being on the side of the building. The parking is extremely tight and the lot they have fills up pretty quickly, and I ended up having to park in a makeshift lot that was pretty much gravel, but manageable. Reservations and pricing They are reservation only. You have to go online ahead of time to book your time slot as well as pay. I was very skeptical about this in the beginning, but they may have actually made some points here. For Sunday brunch the time slots are 11am, 1pm, and 3pm. We went at the 11am slot. It's $55 per person, and mimosas are bottomless for the first hour. When you purchase your ticket it also includes 20% gratuity, so everything is literally bought and paid for when you sit down. I actually rather enjoyed this, it was nice to sit down and just eat and enjoy your company and the experience without having to reach for you wallet to find your card or have to bust out your phone to calculate the tip because you weren't paying attention in math class when they taught percentages (yes that was a self drag). Venue, atmosphere, and seating I loved the atmosphere as soon as I stepped inside. They took the "garden" part literally, and there were beautiful plants everywhere. Hanging plants, standing plants, flowers. It was absolutely beautiful. It took a few minutes to seat us (we were a party of 2) but nothing outrageous. If I had to describe the seating, I would say cute but tight. The tables were pretty close together and were a little small so we had to do a little bit of shuffling around to make things fit on the table. There was a decorative flower on the table but our sever ended up taking it away because there was literally no where for it to go. The brunch playlist was full of all the jams you need for a Sunday summer day, and during the last 20-25 minutes a live band took over, they were really good. I believe they play the entire time during the 1 and 3pm sets. Food and drinks So mimosas are bottomless for the first hour you're there. They use a combination of juices in their mimosas, not sure what it is but they are delicious. After the first hour if you still want to drink you can order from one of their menu cocktails or something from the full bar. If you want to stick with mimosas you can but it would be orange juice only. My suggestion for that would be to still allow the juiced up mimosas but maybe at a $5 up charge. I'd pay it for sure. I've already been introduced to the vibe, I'd like to maintain it please and thank you. When we sat down at our table there were a few small plates already on it. We had seafood salad, kale salad, shrimp, a small platter of fruit and sweet potato muffins, all of which were delicious. Our waitress also informed us that if we wanted seconds on anything we just had to say the word and they would bring it to us. Afterward they brought out veggie pasta, which was good but needed a little salt (which we had to steal from the table next to us cause ours was missing it and also again there was no room). Afterwards they brought around French toast, which was also good. Then they brought out the small tower of food, which had greens, salmon, deviled eggs, grits, bacon, sausage, potatoes, and fried chicken drummettes. The greens and grits were served in small garden pots, another nod to their name and a very cute detail. I enjoyed mostly everything with a few asides. My partner and I both agreed that the salmon could have used a little bit more seasoning, and my partner felt the same way about the deviled eggs (I don't partake). I enjoyed the greens, but my partner thought they were a tad too sweet. The fried chicken brought some serious nostalgia because it tasted like my mother's. Everything else we thoroughly enjoyed, and we didn't finish because we were both stuffed. Service Service for us was fast and decent, but the table next to us seemed to be having a different experience. They were seated before us, but we got our food and refills before them. They did raise their concerns and the management seemed to want to rectify it as quickly as possible, so that was good. All in all I think this is a very dope concept and I enjoyed myself. I would definitely come back, but I would try another time slot to enjoy more of the band and see what the crowds are like at different times. read more
