Midtown Social in Atlanta is a dope, spacious and nice restaurant and bar to hang out for happy hour or dinner. Food: the happy hour menu is really tasty. We had honey bbq wings, spinach dip, shrimp basket, fries, and tacos. We had the happy hour lemon drops and mascot mules which was strong. I must say the food is really good! Service: our waitress whose name is Ice was fantasic. She was attentive, fast, and provided great suggestions for eat. Also shout out to the Big Aliyah made the hookah amazing YES! So disappointed. Came here for a birthday brunch on a Sunday. Reservation was on time at 12:30 and we were sat accordingly. Our server Eva took 2 drink orders of 6, left, went to serving two other tables and then came back for the rest of the order. It took an hour and twenty minutes to receive our food. My food was good but my friends had chicken and waffles and the chicken was a bit undercooked. A number of tables that sat after us were served before us. The venue itself is nice (aside from only being two restroom). The food and the DJ is the only reason it received two stars. Don't recommend for groups larger than 4-5 as the booths only comfortably seat that many pending the size of your guests. read more

Stopped by for girls night to catch the and unfortunately, I was not a fan of the food and drinks. The parking was valet only, very easy and convenient. The ambiance was very cute with dim lighting and nice seating of booths and tables. Our server was great and very friendly. My only issue was with the food, pictured was the "Lobster Mac and Cheese" that my friend and I ordered...no lobster meat, very cheesy and oily. All of our drinks were extremely watered down but the bar was very busy that night. We purchased tickets for a NYE event for the heated tent section. Seeing how nice the pics of the restaurant were, we thought the tent would be just as nice/elegant. Wrong. We arrived earlier enough to get situated & seated, so we were the 1st ones to scope out said tent. It looked like something put together in somebody's backyard for a graduation party or as a few of us joking called it, "the Overflow". Smh The restaurant itself is already but so big. We asked the hostess if we could be seated indoors & she followed up with the manager who reportedly claimed that all of the tables were reserved, but the flyer also said that paying for a section didn't guarantee seating after 1030pm. We sat at the "bar" area near the entrance & ordered a drink. We were already out & decided to make the best of it while we waited for the rest of our party. We also got front row seats to everyone's reactions to said tent - folks were migrating indoors & one couple was either lucky enough to get seated in their closed in patio area or they paid. Our homeboi came & got us out da ghetto. You could literally see the handicap parking sign on the side of our table. Staff was tryna hype it up, but you could tell folks felt a way & rightfully so! When yall run out of seats for what's supposed to be an elegant event - it's a wrap. Don't be greedy & jip folks --- in this economy!? Come on, bruh. The reservation was for 9 but the seating was for 8. Try to keep it under 6 guests if you do come with a group. Sunday brunch is a party vibe, with the live DJ, loud music, and plenty of dancing. Don't expect to be able to talk to one another, just dance, eat, & drink. The food was good and service was adequate especially considering the group size. Context: this was my second time coming here. The first time was after hours, so it wasn't very busy, there were no wait times, parking fees, or 90 minute table seatings. The second time was Sunday brunch and it came with all of that. I'm not upset at either of these because it's Atlanta and I expect that much, but the service once I got to my table, after being on the waitlist for over an hour was poor at best. I sat at the bar and waited for my friends and ordered 2 drinks and a hookah. The bartender was great! Once my friends arrived we still waited at the bar for over 25 minutes for a table. After several more minutes I went back up to the host stand and she said something about how a table just opened up. Great! We get to the table and the server came and she was visibly rushed. We ordered the dussey tower that was supposed to come with 3 drinks, they sent it out with 2 attached and said they ran out of glasses for it, and asked if we wanted another in a regular glass...of course we do. I ordered the fried fish and grits and that was really the saving grace because our food was very good. They kept sending several bar backs and servers around asking if we were done with our drinks that clearly still had drinks in them. Then at about 60 minutes of sitting, the waitress said our time was up and that they were trying to fit one more table in before brunch was over. That's when I had to step in. She said she would go get her manager who eventually came out right when the 90 minute mark had approached (I know because I asked to see the time we ordered our first plate at the table). This is the first time that I have ever written a review for anything on the internet but when I tell you about this jewel called Midtown Social I cant brag enough. The place is huge, the music was the best, and the food was delicious and fairly priced, talk about the ambience of this jewel non can compare, so many servers made your head spin. We watched the movie Brown Sugar.. which is a classic. So the movie selection was great. Every table was sat so the crowd was nice and grown folk like! (Iykyk) The food was good as well. Their saving grace is their drink specials... outside of this i can't say too much good about it. We waited 2 hours for the kitchen to open so we could only have drinks... even those were slow... Much more of a loud than expected, the dj was tooooo loud. When the orders were taken for food they delayed my wings. I really enjoyed myself here, honestly more than I was expecting to. I really mainly came for vibes honestly lmao but I enjoyed pretty much every aspect of it. It is a nice set up in there. It's definitely a good place for a vibe dinner type of experience. I went for taco Tuesday because they had a five dollar deal and I definitely enjoyed what I ordered. I got the chicken and ground beef tacos and I usually prefer ground beef in my Mexican food but the chicken taco ended up being way better and I really enjoyed it. Of course you cannot go somewhere like here and expect authentic Mexican tacos and they certainly were not authentic, but I actually really enjoyed them so no complaints on the food. I honestly wanted to order more but they also require you to get a minimum of two so I decided not to. Our server was sweet. I feel like she could've came around a little bit more but she was nice and helpful and attentive overall. I definitely like the ambience a lot. It is a fun environment and taco Tuesday for them is also an R&B bingo. I decided to participate in the game and I ended up winning! Parking: easy to self park (I went on a Saturday for brunch), but it does turn into valet parking after a certain time. I fear their parking situation may get hectic the more popular they get. Food: I had the shrimp and grits which was pretty good. The shrimp were cooked in a tomato based sauce. I tried the breakfast potatoes which were crispy and delicious. The pancakes were really yummy as well. Drinks: I ordered a lemon drop with kettle one vodka (my personal preference) but they didn't have that which is cool. The server offered the same drink to me with Tito's. Typical lemon drop, nothing too special. Ambiance: This place is gorgeous on the inside. Our server didn't show up until who knows when and then when she didn't show up, she asked if we wanted drinks no menu no nothing we order our food it takes forever for our food to come. We were also given one set of silverware at a two person table. I had to sit and wait to be able to eat my food due to not having any silverware. It got cold, waiting for silverware also to add insult to injury when the food comes out, I asked for an extra cup of sauce, it never came. My friend's food was the absolute worst. I don't know what type of crab it was that they had but she ordered the crab claws. The food was lukewarm. She ordered a drink that was not the drink that she ordered then the bartender offered to give her a specialty drink to which she insisted on getting a glass of wine, but he insisted on giving her a specialty drink. The specialty drink might as well had come from a carnival because it taste like cotton candy again worst experience of my life. The service at this restaurant was extremely disappointing. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt unwelcoming. The one bright spot was the server assigned to our table, who was kind, attentive, and professional. She truly helped salvage the experience, and we greatly appreciated her efforts. Unfortunately, the behavior from several of the other staff members was the complete opposite. There were rude attitudes, side-eye glances, and comments that came across as nasty and unprofessional. Instead of feeling welcomed as customers, we felt uncomfortable and judged throughout our visit. We were excited to support this business and wanted to have a positive experience, but the poor attitudes and lack of hospitality from some of the staff overshadowed the excellent service provided by our server. I'm going to start by saying our brunch reservation was at 1230. We were sat promptly however there was 6 of us and the booth only fit 4. We were given two plastic fold up chairs that felt like they were falling apart. Our server wasn't very attentive to our table and it took almost 20 minutes to put in food and drink orders. So let's say that's about 12:45/12:50. We didn't get drinks til about 1/1:05. Two tables came after 1 and both got their food before us. Our server (Eva) said the food comes out as the food is ready which makes sense however, does not explain how two groups that came in over a half hour after us got food well before we did. She walked by our table multiple times without checking on us or giving any updates on our food nor any apologies about the amount of time it took. We finally all got our food at 1:55. The manager was nice and comped one of the meals (for birthday girl) and provided a round of shots. The food was decent, the drinks were pretty good. I enjoyed the dusse flight. Honestly only giving this review 2 stars because the DJ gave great vibes the whole time and at least the food was edible once it came. My servers Jakaiya and Chance were amazing and very helpful and attentive. The ambiance was very cozy and nice, I went on movie night monday and they were showing Love Island. The food however was okay. The catfish was salty, the greens was missing something in my opinion and the fried rice was good but nothing crazy. And $7 for some water is crazy. The greens have entirely too much sugar in them and sweet potato souffle had the texture of Gerber baby food. We had to ask multiple ppl for different things. I feel the waitress was stretched thin but she held her composure. The service was slow for the bottomless and the server was pouring the drinks, instead of the bartender. The ambiance is nice outside of paying $10 for valet. I think it should be $5 since its required due to the small lot. For Midtown Social to be a new restaurant, they are off to a pretty good start. The ambiance is very nice. Our waitress was very attentive and took care of our large party with ease. I had the shrimp and grits which were pretty good. They could use a little more sauce or butter on the grits. My friend (whose birthday we were celebrating) had the lobster and waffle, however the first time her food came out the waffle was ice cold! We sent it back and it was rectified but the waffle was still cool. Note to back of house staff-the waffle should be the very very last thing to go on the plate before the server picks it because of how quickly it cools down. Drinks were fantastic. We had no reservations but they let us sit at a reserved table that was for guests for a few hours after we got there. Staff was friendly but service was slow. The drinks seemed watered down. I think the kitchen was understaffed because our food took almost an hour to come out. Hardly any food was coming out and most tables around us only had drinks. We ordered simple things like eggs, sausage and pancakes. It was very frustrating. When we got our food, we were underwhelmed. It was just ok. I had the salmon fritters with grits, and a side of pancakes. The fritters were tasty. The grits were very plain. The pancakes were ok. Nothing special. I would go back for drinks. Luckily, we came here on a Friday night before we came back on Sunday for brunch. The food was delicious the atmosphere the DJ and the Host made the vibe and the ambience immaculate. Our waiter was great. We ordered over $300 worth of stuff at this place in less than an hour and a half. Our reservation was for 3 o'clock. We did not get seen or waited until 3:41 PM. The time for the 90 minutes of service should start when you get seen by the waiter or waitress. Minus the owner being there everything was great until he got there. The owner came in and had a party of at least 15 that he wanted seated so he started forcing the staff to make people to leave. The owner was so unprofessional and we watched him from when he got there and started pointing at our table. I asked the waiter was there an issue with us sitting there and they stated that they don't normally seat two people at the table we were sitting at, yet there was another couple at the table right next to us. It wasn't packed yet so they sat us at the table anyways. We loved that we could see everything from our table. We watched the owner speaking loudly to each waiter that was passing him complaining that we were seated at a table that he apparently wanted. WE COULD HEAR YOU! Maybe he should also be the one responsible for making a reservation for his party as well. We weren't even finished with our drinks and we're being asked to hurry again we didn't get seen until 41 minutes after our reservation time. Giving us minimal time to finish our hookah and drinks. Also, you were worried about getting us out instead of accommodating us for our long wait , when you didn't even have toilet tissue in the bathroom, we had to use paper towels to wipe our asses in the bathroom so how about you fix the little shit first.
