Excellent customer service. I visited this dealership today for the second time in my life. There are several HD dealerships closer to my house but in both cases, they had the parts I needed IN STOCK. What I needed today was on back order through the HD website and the wait time was a ridiculous 21 weeks. I could wait for months or just I could just take a ride up there. But before I drove up, I called to see if the part was actually in stock. The person who answered my call said the parts guy was tied up with a customer. Instead of telling me to call back or dumping me into voicemail(I hate that!), he checked and confirmed the item was as present in the store. It was. Maybe my two experiences were exceptions to the rule. I don't know. They are what happened to me. I realize these were trivial events but trivial events are what builds customer trust. read more

Friendliest dealership I've ever been to. Same owners as Williams Harley on Route 22. I bought my bike here and never felt pressured. I even talked about buying a bike off CL with them and Ralph, my salesman, simply said that private sales is an option and if if you need to finance a private sale that they would be happy to help. Since I bought my 2017 FLHXS I have add Rinehart pipes, mini apes, a black engine guard, and a detachable tour pack. Everything I had something done they always looked to try and save me money. With out even asking they looked into having the stock guard powder coated so I wouldn't have to but one. And recently when I had the tour pack wired. They called me and asked if I wanted to drill in the tour pack for the antenna relocation since I had a nubby. They called me to offer to return the parts I already purchased because they noticed I really didn't need them. I can go on and on about all the things they do right. I would only have one complaint. It's hard to get your bike in there during riding season because they are so busy, but that's a good thing for them. Bought my bike last year with the help of Wayne who went out of his way to find the Lowrider I wanted, in the color I wanted, with the wire wheels I wanted. He couldn't have been nicer and couldn't of made me feel more at home in the dealership. A great guy all around. Went back today to arrange my thousand mile servicing and to have some lights exchanged for LED lights. Barry in service is terrific. Very knowledgeable on everything I wanted and gave me a more than fair price for the job. Barry is also a friendly, easy person to chat with. Being a businessperson myself it is nice to see an organization providing customer service from the heart as I would for my clients. Just an aside to anyone who has driven by Gardenstate Harley on route 10 and thought about going in just to look around. UPDATE: My smart ass friend fixed the tune that the service department screwed up and told me I needed to dyno tune it for it to run correctly. It took all of 45 min start to finish. It would be awesome if Garden State Harley refunded me for some of the labor hours they charged. Knowing the thieves that they are, I won't get anything back. I had a great experience buying my bike from here, but that's it. 3 Weeks ago I brought my brand new bike in (which I bought at this dealership) to get several parts installed; intake, exhaust, tuner, bars, risers, grips. I was first told that the intake, exhaust and tuner would take about 2-3 days to have installed. I was told that the clutch cable would need to be ordered and could take up to 2 weeks. Common sense would be to install the intake, exhaust and tuner first, I would take my bike back and they would order the cable for the bars. Instead, they installed the risers, bars and grips first so they could "measure" for the cable. Simple math could have figured this out. So my bike sat for 2 weeks in pieces while they waited for the cable. After 2 weeks I called to see if any progress was made. They still didn't install the intake, exhaust or tuner and said that they were still waiting on cables. I asked them the cable length and they said 69 inches. I had that day off from work, so I searched in a 60 mile radius to see if I could find the cable. I found the exact clutch cable they told me that was needed at a dealership 75 min away in PA. I drove there and got the cable and returned to Garden State Harley. I walked in the door and they said, great, now we just need to wait for the brake line. No mention of the brake line before, I assumed that it was already installed on the bike. I got a call later that day and they said that the clutch cable just barely fit, even though they told me that was the length needed. So now we are into the end of week 3 and still no brake line. They only just attempted to install the exhaust earlier this week and apparently it wasn't the correct exhaust. I ordered it from Revzilla and it says it fits 2021's. That same night, I ordered a new exhaust and had it to them within 2 days. Today is Thursday and apparently the brake line will be in tomorrow. I asked Brian at the service dept if they could have it done by Saturday and he told me that if they don't finish it Friday he might not have done until Monday. I was told that Saturdays are reserved for walk-in oil changes. I spent $20k+ on a bike and then even more money for the service and this is how I'm treated. This is honestly the worst customer service I have ever dealt with in my life. There is a lack of communication between the service guys Barry and Brian and then also the customers that they deal with. Avoid the service center at all costs. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. This place is absolutely horrendous. If you care about your bike do not bring it here. Their service team is so incompetent they can't even properly tune a bike after intake and exhaust. A friend of mine brought a BRAND NEW bike that was purchased 2 weeks earlier from this same place. He brought handlebars, exhaust and intake. 4 weeks later he got the bike back "finished." If a Harley service department doesn't know they need to order wiring extensions and a longer clutch cable maybe they should go slice meat at ShopRite. Anyway, after getting the bike back after a ton of back and forth and lying about parts and time frames, the bike did not run properly. It was cutting out around 3,500 RPM. Clearly they never installed a map or tuned the screamin eagle tuner they sold him and installed. Don't worry though.. my "smart ass" friend as Harley called him went to the screamin eagle website and found the cable needed to tune the bike. My friend purchased the cable and 45 minutes later they downloaded the map from the screamin eagle website. After 15 minutes of recording the bike during a ride the bike runs beautifully. So, Garden State Harley.. I guess being an average Joe with some tools in a garage is better than bringing a bike to you and your "service department?" Ralph was fantastic to do business with, and never once did I feel pressured. He was willing to answer all my questions, and was incredibly knowledgeable. Bad, obnoxious trade practice. Purchased a yellow T-shirt for the kid, he did not like it, returned back within 27 days or so. They asked me to read between the lines, and, issued a 'Store Credit' on a print out in my name. ( now this is specialty store, I cannot buy anything else for $30 or so. I cannot gift this Store credit slip to anyone else as it is issued in my name. The Store credit issued on paper where ink is washed after 2/3 months )....When I told them, this is not a industry practice here in Morristown, they asked me to go wherever I like, so, I went to BBB and to my Credit Card company and stopped the payment. Went here first to buy a new road glide but ended up at Bergen instead. Bergen made a better deal and offered 1k more for my trade in. Garden state told me to call them with the best deal I could get and they would match it. After I went to Bergen and got the better deal I called Garden State to see if they could match it as I preferred Garden State since they were so close to my home. The sales man I called at garden state told me he would call me back in 5 minutes after I gave him the info and I never heard back from him. If you're a woman rider, or a man who is not a chauvinistic pig, I'd avoid this sexist HD dealer. There are too many pictures of pin up girls to count. Mind you, they proudly display a ton of gorgeous sportsters and the new roadsters to attract smaller riders such as women, but most women would be offended to walk into a dealership with that many pin up girls covering the walls. The one sales rep who I spoke with actually had a stack of Maxim magazines in his office. I love HD and I'm a proud owner of a sportster 1200 but although I'm in the market for a new bike, I would never buy a bike from this dealer. I would give ZERO stars if I could to this dealership, the warranty department and HARLEY DAVIDSON!!! I don't care who's responsible for the piece of junk I bought, you should fix it. Once they sell you what you want, you are on your own!!! I bought my Harley Street Bob BRAND NEW June 17, 2018. After a little bit over 500 miles, the power coating on the forks bubbled up, chipped and pealed off. Some parts started rusting. I have over 50 pictures, but I will only post a couple. My brand new Harley is covered in corrosion and the spokes and other parts are completely rusting. Nobody cared at Morris Plains Harley Davidson neither the warranty department. In fact, the warranty department told me that I must live in a harsh environment or harsh condition in order for that to occur. Another piece of BS that I was told was that I must have rode on salt or other corroding agents ... The warranty department ends up the call saying : "Sorry, we can't do anything about that and your case has been closed!" Bike runs decently nice after tune up but they quoted me $650, ended up being $900. Not to mention they didn't even replace a missing bolt from the control switches. Not happy with the service at GS Harley. I brought my bike there last spring for a 5,000 mile service. When I got it back one of the bolts holding the derby cover was loose and rattling around. The switch housing on the brake side was loose and moving around. I know that they aren't big items but when you pay a premium price, you shouldn't have to torque up bolts when you get home. Well, I complained and was offered a free oil change. I never took them up on it because I do it myself. Fast forward to this Spring. My bike now has 10,000 miles so in addition to all the other services, I went to adjust the clutch. Well, the jam nut was cranked on there so tight I couldn't even move it and started stripping the nut. The last time this was touched was at the 5,000 service so I brought it back and asked if they could loosen the nut. They did adjust the clutch, and then charged me!! When I mentioned that I thought it would be covered because they put the jam nut on too tight, I was told that it has been 5.000 miles since they did the work. Well, yeah...how often do you adjust the clutch...according to the service manual...every 5,000 miles. I didn't realize that I had to check everything they did once they did it. I will not be going back there...ever. read more
