This place is great for your garden needs. Initially I thought this place was a small tiny flower shop, but I was wrong! Inside there's a variety of plants and garden supplies, when you walk further inside you can find fountains and large ceramic sculptures. If you walk further on you'll end up going to the outdoor area where there's bountiful plants. The staff is super friendly and helpful (unlike another place I used to frequent for plants *cough*homedepot*cough*). The staff knew exactly where to find the plant I was looking for. Prices aren't bad as well, I definitely recommend this place. They also have terraniums for sale, as well as cute tiny succulents and cacti. Convenient location with a parking lot. The guy working with the indoor plants in the back of the store came off very condescending and was not too helpful. It wasn't just to me but he had an aggressive tone when he spoke to a couple that looked to him for some plant suggestions. He said he was the buyer and worked there for many years. Yikes! Despite the negative encounter, I thought the selection was decent, albeit dusty and I still picked up a new plant. Unfortunately, the plant had some bugs hiding under the leaves that I didn't notice until I got home. It happens and I hosed it down with a neem oil solution and hoped for the best. I also picked up a beautiful Lennox vase here for a very good price that helped balance my experience. My parents came into the store yesterday afternoon around 2:30 pm. They asked for assistance on a (fairly costly) item and an employee came over to speak with them. His mask was around his ear and not covering his mouth so they politely asked him to put it on. He told them they were having an attitude with him and said someone else could help them, and then he walked away. They asked another employee what his name was and they claimed they didn't see him. With that my parents just left without purchasing anything - not worth the health risk or rude treatment. read more

I was disappointed when I had to return a $150. Tree a month later because it wasn't performing well and Garden Well behaved as if they did not want to honor their one year guarantee policy. Amazing selection of houseplants! This place has almost all of my wishlist plants, at very reasonable prices. They do have a few rares and a bunch of popular plants here for AMAZING prices. I stood there staring at the Monstera selection trying to figure out which pieces of furniture I need to throw out in order to make room for it haha! All of the plants are healthy, didn't see a single gnat flying around, and the staff gave me a few tips about plant care while I was checking out. Another thing I love about this nursery is that all of their plants are labeled with the scientific names - that way you can just Google more care tips if needed. They have a very interesting selection of plants, at really great prices. As previous reviewers have said though, they have a fungus gnat problem. They always have had that problem for the years I've been shopping at their nursery, I just quarantine my new additions from the rest of my plants until they're gone. BUT FOR ME, the staff is what really kills the experience here. The customer service in general is abysmal. The young women running the cash register basically want you out of their face ASAP, do not engage in conversation with customers / asking if they found everything okay, and don't greet customers, do not have any helpful plant knowledge to answer your questions with, so my only guess is that they're kept around for their looks, no offense.. I rarely go back there, but the nursery section has a gatekeeper, watch your step. He provides unsolicited but helpful information about whatever is in your hand/ what you're looking at. I do not believe he's intentionally trying to make the customers feel stupid or treat everyone like a novice, but once again, like all the other reviews, maybe he does just enjoy treating customers like trash. Nothing will ever change here because the "rude employee" being mentioned in the comments ~might be~ the owner himself. Avoid, avoid, avoid. read more

This Nursery has a nice selection I will give them that. You will find different varieties of herbs than what you would find in your typical big box stores. I've tried to give this place a chance many times since they do have a really good selection. Like previous reviews they are a little bit pricier, but that's okay with me since you can find plants you typically can't find at other stores. While the selection is good the customer service is questionable at best. The reviews before me were pretty spot-on and every time I was rang up by any middle-aged woman in the store they always seem to have a look of contempt on their face. I never really say a word to these people, but I remember buying some potting mix and containers one morning and the woman who rang me up seemed to to have such a look of disdain on her face it was as if the contempt permeated through the air and into every fiber of my being. It felt awkward and as I was being rang up I remembered all the reasons why I almost always purchase from Amazon or online stores I don't have to deal with these kind of things. I feel like I'm the type of person who support mom and pop stores and when I find a store I like I shop there even if it's an extra price. And Garden World does have a good selection for the community. I was just there today. I picked up some potting mix and a container and unfortunately I had to ask one of those middle aged women a question if they carried a certain product and after her response I remembered my previous experience buying potting mix and containers, so I put the stuff down and walked out of the store. If I'm going go ahead and pay a little bit extra I can always order the less common plants that I want from Etsy and find the potting soil that I'm looking for from other small businesses in the area. read more

The one thing that we don't like about this place is that they didn't write the price for some of the plants. It's not really a big deal but sometimes it can be annoying whenever we have to look for the staff just to find out about the price of certain plants. From our experience here, the staff were polite. They have a good selection of indoor plants (my only focus when visiting, and of my review), depending on the season. If you're looking for variety, it's a good bet. Items are pretty high priced, especially the medium sized plants. Staff that I've encountered has been kind but not terribly helpful; when asking if they ever have a specific item, the employee just said whatever we have is out here and kept walking. I certainly would understand that reply as a matter of fact about what's available, but it was clear she had no idea what plants they ever have or don't have. I will likely return. read more

This is by far the worst experience I have ever had with a company, I have dealt with many companies that are professional. This company is only out to make money like most companies but they will charge you four times more than first stated, they just want to take avantage of you as the customer. My repair cost was $30 to fix a torn pulley on my snowblower. Then out the blue they're trying to charge me $369.89 for device that starts up perfect with no issues just to get money out of my pocket. That's not the worst part they bring me my snowblower full of dust and rust and it did not look like that when I gave it to them. In terms of repair never go to that location ever. One of my favorite spots in Queens to get good priced, fresh flowers and potted plants! Today, I needed to get fresh flowers for my anniversary and Dina was thrilled to help make me a beautiful, custom bouquet. She put a lot of care and attention into making the bouquet and truly took her time to make it come out absolutely perfect. She really cared about making me an amazing bouquet and for that I will definitely be coming back for more! If you ever need fresh cut flowers I highly recommend coming here to get them! This is my go to place for gardening supplies out of convenience since I live minutes away by car. The prices here for plants and gardening supplies are average to a little pricier. I have seen staff moving about but can't speak to whether they're helpful. What I can say is they don't stop to ask if you need any assistance or suggestions unless you hunt them down. I did say I come here out of convenience but if it's for propane? Not anymore. They charge a lot more for propane tank exchange compared to Lowes or Home Depot and they use Blue Rhino like Lowes. Paying $25+ for a exchange is crazy even if I don't have to drive to Lowes and Blue Rhino propane doesn't even fill their tanks to 100% for safety reasons. Yeah I'll be back for plants and garden supplies. BBQ supplies like propane? Nope. read more

Got my Christmas decorations for my grandparents and great grandparents gravestones this past holiday and was very pleased. The pieces lasted very long in comparison to other garden and flower places. Prices are not cheap but you get what you pay for. Beautiful selection of plants, however the staff was incredibly rude. My wife and I spent a lot of money and were so excited about our purchase but were treated by staff as though we were an inconvenience. 3 stars for the plants and the older gentleman at the commercial area who is very knowledgeable and sweet. However, this place shares its entire lot with the HMART next door and HMART's lot is already huge but since there isn't designated parking specifically for Garden World, you have people from hmart parking over to the already tiny available spaces outside the Garden World. In addition, I also think there should be cameras and someone watching the lot because today is the second time some asshole decided to take picture of my plates because they decided to make their own parking spot and completely block other's people path of getting out. I have a back up camera on my car so I know how to be careful but that shit just pisses me off. Side note: I'm a tiny 5'5 Asian girl with a big SUV and I STILL park better than half of you fools! I usually have a good experience here, but my experience today was not like how it normally is. Over the phone like always, they are professional, I asked them if they had sand in stock and they said yes, there are couple bags available of different kinds. I get into the store an hour later, there is only one kind that I see on the shelf and it was the last one. I was about to purchase the last bag of sand on the shelf but noticed that the pack was open. So i asked an employee in the nursery if there happen to be any other sand/ or item available. I know that this guy is usually a friendly person from what ive seen when i came in the store in the past. This was my first interaction with this man. He first got defensive about whats wrong with the one im holding. I told him that the package was ripped open and hoped to see if there was another one. He got a little defensive saying that its fine, the tear wasnt big enough for the pack to be open. He flipped it upside down to demonstrate this, and sand proceeds to fall out of the bag onto the floor and a little bit inside my shoes. He admitted at this point that he told a lie, and duct taped the package and told me "there it wont spill", i asked again can you just tell me if theres a different brand or something you guys have. At this point he seemed agitated and told me "No, everyone staying home think now they are some kind of horticulture masters and bought everything before you." . I just replied "oh thats funny" and left the situation as is. I ended up purchasing the bag and what do you know, the bag is spilling over at every vibration during transport. I should of known better and not purchased it, but I did needed it on the spot and settled with something i regret. If necessary i do have photographs to prove the claims of the purchase. Im going to try and understand that covid is stressful time for all, will have to return only when situation gets better and I will update the review accordingly based on my newest experience. We always buy a real tree and this year went to garden world where we have gone in the past. This year prices are up and quality is way down . This place has a huge selection of flowers, plants, trees, pots, outdoor decor. The parking is kind of cluttered but the place itself is super nice. They have an outdoor and indoor section. They basically have everything you need for gardening from tools to soil. They have different types of trees and even ones that grow vegetables/fruits. All sorts of flowers, also warranties on the flowers up to a year which I thought was great. Staff is very helpful. Such a good place to have in the area if you don't want to travel all the way to Home Depot for planting stuff. read more

Always love coming to this place because it's so relaxing. I especially love walking around in the back where all the succulents and plants are in the "greenhouse." Not my first time here but everytime I get to the register I always get the most rude customer service. Older lady had dark black short hair. Kinda reminded me of the lady from Orange is the New black. I said hello how are you to her when I visited today. No response. She packed my bags, I said thank you and no response. Bridal Florist Review! Garden World is an excellent choice for any brides on a budget! They are a quarter of the price of other Bridal Florists. I worked with Dina and Jose, and they were so friendly and helpful. The flowers we selected were gorgeous. Jose had made me a bridal bouquet sample to approve, and on the wedding morning they were even more gorgeous. Wrapped in gorgeous ribbon, with rhinestone pins throughout, all the bouquets were absolutely stunning. The delivery had to be super early and they were very accommodating. Y'all are crazy! The selection here is huge. I have to pass by a lot of the aisles with my eyes closed or else I'd buy everything. I guess I can't say much about the staff since I never talk to them, except for when I'm paying for my things. Maybe y'all aren't that crazy. AND it's actually not that pricey. I've compared the prices of wire fencing and landscape fabric from Home Depot and Garden World, and Garden World won by $1.25 and $0.60, respectively. Everything else is about the same. I really enjoyed the customer service I received at Garden World. The staff were amazing and went well-above the call of duty when I arrived with my son. He happened to have just been woken up by me since I couldn't leave him in the car. He was quite disgruntled and I was hesitant about how I was going to make my purchases while he was screaming his head off. They were nice to amuse him with plush animals while I made decisions about what I was looking for. The flowers are absolutely beautiful and I received compliments from my family about the bouquets.
