Great range of plants (indoor and outdoor) and plenty of plant food/soil/mulch, etc. They even have some bricks for your landscaping needs. Yes, prices are higher than Home Depot type places but the people working there are very helpful (especially in the green house). They occasionally have sales and you can sometimes find them in your local ValuePack for $10 off $50 coupons. They often employ high school kids to man the registers so don't bother asking them questions outside of prices. I get my outdoor house decorations here for holidays (e.g. Halloween, Thanksgiving, etc) as they have a wide range of products. They also have events here & around Christmas they had a group doing carols. I bought a boxwood from them late last year and they did provide one year guarantee in the case it dies. Believe you would just bring in the plant and they would replace it though I have yet to use it so I can't comment on ease of use. In terms of parking, it's can be little hectic on weekends b/c H-Mart shares a parking lot with them but I usually find a spot fairly quickly. Do watch out for some of the drivers there; they're not the best at parking. Overall great local shop and you get better service than big box stores. read more

I was there around 10am today. As I was about to pay by the window register, the middle aged woman who was at the register(dark purple-burgundy short hair) told me to go around, inside the store to pay. So I went around, with my toddler on one hand and the potted plant on the other. As I get to the other side, she was serving other customers on THAT SAME WINDOW. So I stood there, and waited for a few minutes while she was taking her second customer already and occasionally looking at me and not acknowledging me at all. I don't understand why she told me to pay inside instead of me paying by the window WHEN NO ONE WAS THERE. So somebody came over to help her with coding a groupon from a customer. And that person helped me instead. I asked her(out loud so her coworker could hear me)if there was any difference between paying in here and out there by the window(noting that it is the SAME register booth). Not one time she turned around to say sorry or at least give me a good reason for making me walk around the store to get to the register. The lady who helped me at the moment, felt embarrassed and apologized for what had happened. She was extremely nice and tried to make the situation a little better by engaging a conversation with my kid and offering some candy. This is not the first time that she has treated me in this manner. I come here often around the same time every week for gardening materials. I always greet whoever is helping me and she is the only one that never greeted me back or say thank you after a purchase. I gave her rudeness a chance a few times but today I'm livid with this whole situation I decided to post a review. I like to support local businesses but having someone like her as part of the staff, really ruins everything good that is left there. I hate to point this out but this had me thinking whether she did not want to help me because of the color of my skin and my ethnicity(because clearly she had no problem helping two customers after me with the same skin tone as her) or she's just being extremely rude to whoever she feels like. read more

Before I could pounce the b...londe...her coworker saved the day, and her a$$ by saying that Garden World would honor the voucher provided they charge me full price. Whatever, just get me out of here. So as the b...londe was ringing me up (another tedious process of calculating, etc.), some random guy...another garden gnome, had to put his two cents in and say, "the living social promotion is over...expired." Ahem, check the voucher, buddy...it expires in December....and you just ran this promotion last week. Go water some plants or something. That said, Garden World, the point of these vouchers is to promote...and get customers to come back. You accomplished the opposite. Bad customer service, and I have to pay for it to?! No, thank you...I'll take my business & hard earned money elsewhere. read more

Love this place! This is always our first stop when we want to start planting in the springtime. They have a tremendous variety of fruits and vegetables, as well as tons of plants, trees and bushes. You can literally spend half the day there browsing all the aisles outside and taking a peak at their very own Koi garden with at least 20 fish! Inside is just exciting! They have a huge BBQ section loaded with every tool you can imagine. There are tons of outdoor accessories too including planters, fountains, lights and some very cute garden gnomes! If you can handle the heat, head back to their exotic area that is steaming hot, loaded with various tropical plants that are absolutely stunning. By the time you leave, you felt like you just went on a mini vacay! Although this place can be a little more pricey than your average garden store, it is by far worth it! You can see how healthy and beautiful the plants are. The staff really cares about what they do and it can be seen in their products. read more

This place is amazing! It's huge and everything you could want for your garden and even indoor plants. We went in the beginning of August and got four bushes for half price! There was a sale so it amounted to $17.50 each. They were understandably low on other outdoor plants but the selection was huge anyway. I only go here to get propane from my grill. The last time I got a tank and brought it home it didn't work right. I thought it was my grill. I went out and bought a new regulator for my grill. When that did not work I knew it was the tank. I couldn't find the receipt but went to the garden center anyway to give it a shot. When I went to the counter and told the person The tank was no good she immediately told me to just bring it in the back for a new tank. I was shocked. The new tank work perfectly and everything was fine. Great service great place to do business with. read more

This Garden World has plenty of parking, and has every supply you may need. These supplies range from indoor garden stuff, tools, flower pots, statues, decorative items, soil, rocks, wood chips, flowers, vegetables, florist shop and much more. The plants you get from here are well-maintained, and I have never had an issue with them dying. The prices are a little expensive, but I guess that's what you pay for quality. They also have a nice fall and winter stock of plants and holiday stuff. read more

I wanted to write and say how pleased I was at the quick response and resolution to an order I placed for Christmas. I ordered a pop up Christmas tree for my elderly parents and when it arrived the box was destroyed (thanks to FedEx) and I wrote to this company telling them of my problem. IMMEDIATELY, they found another tree and shipped it to my parents at no cost to me. The damaged tree did not even need to be returned which was such a blessing to me as I don't live in the same city as my folks and didn't want them burdened with having to pack it up and return it. I can not say enough good about this company - their attention to detail and the price on the item was the best I could find on the web! Will order from the again in the future! Good luck getting help here. Staff is not knowledgable about their product and are downright rude. The staff is too inexperienced and are quick to pass you on to someone else who also lacks sufficient knowledge about the merchandise. To make things worse, the employees I encountered seemed borderline dismissive with an irritable undertone. Oh, and the disgruntled employees in question were full-fledged adults not teenagers. I am a big proponent of supporting local business, however, with attitudes like these, it makes shopping at Home Depot a more gratifying experience. read more

The best plant store ever!! I needed an orchid potting mix. After looking in chain stores I was really desperated! I found this store I was saved! Very professional help with so nice people!! I bought also so many plants, they are kept in very good conditions there! Healthy and bugs free. If u want to buy a plant for a gift etc don't even think about other places! I live within a mile of this store and I plan to now go more often. I don't have a yard so I thought there was no need to stop in. Wrong - they have really lovely gifts and it is one of the nicest places in the area to walk around and just browse. Gifts, toys for kids, items for pets, flowers, and every kind of garden item you would ever need. The indoor plant ares is laid out really well and reminds of the Phip's Conservatory In Pittsburgh (ok..just a lot smaller). Garden World is located on Francis Lewis Blvd. There is NO other way to get in THE STORE. Plants are great, I think customer service is pretty good. The place is neat as hell. They get busy all bets are off , busy is busy. I have bought house and outdoor plants still growing a year and half later. The selection is variety. Garden accessories , helpful hints , etc. Saturdays don't expect lots of parking, its Saturday. I was VERY DISAPPOINTED by Gardenworld and will never go there again! Two weeks ago I went to Gardenworld and asked the florist in the greenhouse for advice on succulents I had bought as a party favor for my daughter's baby shower. (They arrived early and I had to care for them for 2 wks b4 the party.) I told him I had bought 1 1/2" pots and he said he would transplant them for me as I expressed the fact that I was apprehensive to do it myself. He gave me advice and told me to come back 2 days before the party. When I questioned him about the time frame he said 2 days before would be enough time. When I returned as scheduled, he laughed at me for coming in so close to the party and scolded me for the way I was taking care of the plants. He said the plants were "unhappy" whatever the heck that means. He also laughed at the pots I bought and said they would never work. Finally, he ended up giving me a 3 in. pot and told me to go to Michael's to buy more like that one and if I brought them back he would TRY to get them done the next day (1 day before the party). Ultimately, I decided not to go back. I don't want to do business with someone who treats me that way. After all I'm the customer paying him-not the other way around. Bottom line is I found the florist in the greenhouse at Gardenworld to be arrogant and cocky!!! In the future I will shop at ANY other nursery in the area even if it means traveling further or paying more! Treating customers badly is just bad business! read more

This was my childhood garden store growing up in the neighborhood. I've since moved to Williamsburg, BK and still make the long haul back to this nursery for all my outdoor planting. Prices on plants are higher than Home Depot, but the quality, consistent knowledge among staff members, and overall variety of plants is incomparable to anything in Brooklyn. I think the experience alone is worth the investment, especially if you're serious about building your garden and outdoor space. read more

I`m a knowledgeable gardening nut. and a rock/japanese garden landscaper. Hands down this is the best place in Queens and I`d say Bklyn also if you want good stuff,,especially evergreens,shrubs,mower maintenance,chemicals,moss stones,good perennial/annual selection . sure there are enthusiastic kids working there and I`m glad about that,,but there are some real knowledgeable vets also.. As far as prices go,I see no big difference but paying less for a weak plant that dies or that gets replaced later isn`t a good deal .I give it 4 stars ,,There are no 5 star retail nurseries unless one goes to the wealthier suburbs read more
