I absolutely hate writing negative reviews but when businesses do not reciprocate what you pay for,…read morethen I cannot feel bad. Almost every time I disregarded bad review, I was sorry so I'm trying to do the same for my fellow Yelpers. So I grew up in Whitestone and my parents still reside there. I have been unsuccessful with other florists in the area when ordering flowers to be delivered to my mother. My mom just celebrated a year cancer free so I wanted to surprise her and recognize her. I browsed the selection on the website of flowers and plants, which were an amazing variety. I wanted to order a plant that was good luck to health. I decided to go with a bamboo plant since my mom likes them. I ordered on a Friday, to be delivered the following Wednesday (5 days later). There was some fee that was waived but still had to pay $10 for shipping-for under 2 miles. Fine, whatever, I'm over 1,000 miles away and cannot do it myself. I placed the order and it was charged to my card immediately and I received a confirmation email. Wednesday arrives. 2pm-nothing. 6pm-nothing. I left work at 9pm and never heard anything from my mother so I asked her if she received any deliveries-thinking maybe she missed it or something. She told me no. I went from 0 to 100 immediately. This occasion was very, very important. It was not a holiday where they would be busy. I never received a call or email about any issues. It was paid for. I tried calling but of course they were closed. I emailed but no response. Fast forward to the following afternoon. I receive a voicemail from Elizabeth to call back regarding my order. So Elizabeth was kind of nice and that was the only positive aspect. I was told "I received the order this morning (now 6 days after I placed the order). We do not have any bamboo plants in stock (it was listed in stock on website). Would you like me to send another plant". I am a very understanding and polite person but when a business goes above and beyond to screw something up that I paid for, I am not going to be pleasant. I think next time, I am just going to pay one of my friends to physically buy flowers and deliver them to my mom for me. There are no pictures because nothing was delivered. I did receive a refund notification via email and the actual refund went back to my card about 4 days later.

So this place was my 5th attempt to deliver flowers to my mom for Mother's Day. I reside in Florida…read moreand decided to send flowers since I could not be up in NYC due to COVID. I was specifically looking for tulips since my mom was happy about the ones my cousin brought her a while ago. After unsuccessfully ordering tulips from four other places, I found this place, which is in the same town as my parents. They do have a website but since I was having a difficult time with all other companies, I called here to make sure they have tulips available. A woman named Jean answered the phone and was very nice. I asked several times if they have tulips in stock. She assured me each time I asked. She took down the address, both my phone number and my mother's phone number, when I would like it to be delivered, what I want to be written on the card, and my credit card information. I requested the flowers be sent on Mother's Day but if it is earlier, that is okay. I was told they could be delivered on Mother's Day without any additional fee. I was then told it would be $77. If my mom received tulips, on time, then the price does not matter. The flowers arrived the day before Mother's Day. Fine. As you can see in the picture, this are definitely NOT tulips. In fact, they look like weeds. I cannot begin to describe how pissed I was. My mom did not care because it is the thought and she was surprised. I am not sure how they received high star reviews because this was a really negative delivery. If I just ordered on the website without calling and this happened (even though it should not happen anywhere), that would be one thing. But I called. I asked several times. I provided my phone number so she could have called me when/if she realized they did not have tulips.

I called and explained the color scheme I was looking for. They listened & created a beautiful & fresh bouquet which was delivered exactly at the time I had requested. They even suggested I text them the slIghtly complicated wish that I wanted to include. They did a great job. The only thing I wish is that the bouquet had been slightly more full. As long ass the flowers last, I will use them again!

This delicious and affordable tradition tofu shop is a must visit. I stopped by and grabbed a quart…read moreof their traditional tofu pudding, but I regret not grabbing five! The tofu is silky smooth, almost custard like--it's good alone or with the ginger simple syrup. This storefront is connected to a cafe/bakery and flower shop. I was impressed by the updated interior, especially as a hole in the wall spot. Definitely add it to your list for a true Chinese food crawl in Flushing.

BLUF: Stick with the basics…read more Soybean Chan 陳豆花, once a mom and pop flower shop with a tofu pudding (豆腐花) stand, recently renovated and split into three businesses housed in one store -- a tofu pudding shop and a coffee / boba tea bar prominently in the front of the store, with a smaller flower shop in the back. We visited the tofu pudding shop twice in recent weeks. The tofu pudding hasn't been as silken smooth as it should be, and after those two visits, we confirmed we still think it isn't. Soybean Chan is nonetheless is attempting to transform this basic, low-cost dessert into an upscale treat by offering multiple add-on options. The add-ons do make the tofu pudding more interesting, but they also reduce the amount of tofu pudding received because everything is packed into one container. And the add-ons don't improve the "mid" quality of the tofu pudding. We paid $11.98, including tax, in our last visit for a 32-oz container of "Classic Reunion Tofu Pudding" with Lychee Coconut Jelly. The staff member who took and fulfilled the order forgot the Lychee Coconut Jelly. A basic 32-oz container of tofu pudding here can cost as little as $6, including tax. The shop is geared for take-out, but there are two counter-height round bar tables for those interested in eating in. Same price cash or credit. Soybean Chan has another store in Elmhurst, NY, take-out only, which offers the basics at slightly lower prices, with similar, mediocre (though sometimes better), quality. Wong Kwong Hop in Elmhurst sells a smoother tofu pudding, $4 for a 32-oz container, albeit with a regular sugar syrup, not Soybean Chan's ginger syrup.

Pros: Carries a great variety of imported food from the Mediterranean (i.e. Greek honey and spices,…read moreItalian beans/flour, Turkish pistachio spread). I would come here specifically for those type of items - that's the highlight of this grocery store. Cons: Those 6 parking spots in the front are coveted AF (to quote Dylan from the TV show Severance). I've almost seen a few fights breaks out over those spots, and in my opinion it's not worth it because people don't know how to reverse out of the spot and will end up scraping the side of your car. No trip to Raspberry Farm is complete without honking at someone or getting honked at - it's part of the experience. Also, as other reviewers have said, many of the items on the shelves are expired. Be sure to always check the expiration date of anything you buy.

Strong representation from Greece in the form of cheeses, oils, grains, olives, and specialty items. Turkish, Moroccan and Spanish/Latin American groceries show up when available. High-quality imported Italian pasta, tomatoes, snacks, crackers, sweets. Entire wall of nuts and dried fruits, good section of hard to find flours like chickpea and potato. Now and then a random item shows up on sale, offering a chance to sample a new olive oil or balsamic vinegar. Very good job bringing seasonal imports in around the holidays - pandoro, panettone, torrone. Caveats are: freshness of produce is hit or miss, and ALWAYS check the expiration dates as sometimes older stuff stays in stock.
