My daughter was at GLS for 2 years, from age 14months-3yrs and it is not an understatement to say that I don't know how we would have made it through these last 2 years without the caring, wonderful environment and people that make this daycare so so special. The owner Oksana is simply incredible-she feels like a co-parent, but all of the women there are wonderful, loving caregivers that treat these kids like their own. They go all out for holidays, do so many fun activities with the kids, feed them home cooked meals (my kid eats vegetable soup and meatballs and cabbage borscht!!!), really pay attention to what each child needs, and are just so understanding of what it's like to be a working parent. My daughter says I love you to the caregivers there and they say I love you back. What else could a parent want other than knowing that every day you are leaving your child in a safe and loving environment? It was the best decision ever to send her there. Our daughter attended Gardner Little School from 6 months to age 2.5. Oksana and the other teachers are amazingly caring people who create a supportive, fun environment for young kids. This environment they foster also creates a welcoming community with the other parents of the students at Gardner, which we really appreciated. At 6 months, our daughter was with kids her age but also older kids, up to about age 2. I think she benefited from seeing the older kids and having that mix of ages. We brought her milk and food until age 1. At age 1, Gardner provides 2 snacks and lunch, all prepared there. Our daughter enjoyed the food and it was very helpful to not pack food for her on a daily basis. At age 2, she switched to another room to be with older kids age 2-3. She enjoyed that group too. At school, they go outside in the backyard, make arts and crafts, and have music class multiple days per week. We can't say enough about how terrific music class was. We were especially appreciative of the school's ability to keep our daughter safe during the height of the pandemic and open for her on a daily basis. We give Gardner Little School a strong recommendation and will miss it! read more

Finding a daycare for your child, especially for an infant under 1, is truly one of the most terrifying exercises of trust for new parents. We heard about Gardner Little School through a colleague and were lucky enough to get a spot for our then 10 month old son. He's been there for about a year and we couldn't feel more grateful to have found Oksana and her wonderful team of teachers. They are incredibly loving and treat the children like their own. They provide delicious meals (a rare find!), have music classes, and keep the kids entertained and learning all day. Our son just "graduated" from Gardner Little School, and although I knew that eventually he would leave the school, I didn't expect to feel sadness I did at saying goodbye. Our son attended this school from about 7 months old to 2.5 years, and we couldn't have found a more caring and fun environment for him. He is such a fun, silly, happy kid, and this is in no small part thanks to Oksana, Lily, and the other teachers who cared for him there. He loves going to school, he learned so much from them, and always came home so proud of being able to share the new song he learned, or practicing counting, and even playing the games he plays at school. He is incredibly well socialized and confident, and I know that the loving environment this school gave him to grow him helped him develop into the great kid he is today. When my wife and I were looking for a safe, loving, clean, happy environment to place leave our first-born daughter, we were overwhelmed. As new parents, it's a daunting idea to come to terms with: leaving your little one with a group of strangers every day. But, since both mom and I work full-time, we simply had no choice. And, for us, the added benefit of early socialization made daycare a far better choice than a private nanny (all our friends kids who were raised by nannies, in our opinion, developed into brats who thought they ruled the world). THE LONG AND SHORT OF IT IS THAT WE HONESTLY COULDN'T HAVE MADE A BETTER DECISION FOR OUR FAMILY. Oksana, Alissa and Nora cared for our daughter like she was their own and very clearly grew to truly love our little one. They were all communicative with us as necessary over text and through calls. They helped us identify moments in our daughter's development. They taught her a great deal about building relationships, right from wrong, etc. We recently moved our little one to another school because mom is French and it's important to us that our daughter learn French as early as possible. Last September, I came to interview Oksana and see the daycare, and while I was sitting down, a little boy crawled past me with a huge smile. I burst out crying, because I knew this was the place for my baby....who was still three months away from being born! I started work after 12 weeks, and brought Jack to Gardner without a second thought. I knew he was in the best hands every single day. He's now eight months old, and smiles ear to ear every time he gets through the door! They keep him well-fed and SO LOVED. I credit his amazing demeanor to the love he gets from his weekday mamas. The facility is super clean, so organized, and Oksana has texted me pics of Jack when I've requested them. The price is reasonable, and the schedule works with my crazy taping schedule. My daughter had so much fun at this school. She was genuinely cared for and loved by Oksana and her staff. They always decorate for the holidays and it rings joy to the kids. They surprised the kids with Santa Claus this Christmas and prepared individual gifts for each of the kids. They have parties on Halloween as well. Whenever the weather is good and Covid is gone, they play outside outside in the backyard playground which is good exercise and benefits my daughter in many good ways. They make projects that the kids bring home and have delicious foods varying from soups to whatever the parents specify their kid to eat. I highly recommend this daycare for anyone that is looking for their child to have fun and flourish in their mental health with making great friends. read more

Where do I begin..... I'm almost crying out of gratitude writing this post. Oksana (owner) and her team I owe so much to. I am a single (and only parent) to my now 2.5 year old daughter. She has been at Gardener since she was 6 months old and is now going to preschool but I'm on the fence because we LOVE oksana and her team SO much! They have taken such wonderful care of my angel and she is flourishing because of the loving and fun environment Oksana has provided. At our open house last night I was actually hesitant to start there because Maya is much more advanced than the peers at this new school. I owe this to Oksana. All the kids Maya's age have been there since infancy. They all have met above their milestone period. Here is a list of pros that were important to me as a new mom and some things that I learned were not an issue (cons but not real cons) Pros: 1. Amazingly clean - Oksana provides an insanely clean environment. I toured 6 daycares before going here and this was the most comfortable and clean one yet 2. Play centered- the kids have so many toys and play constantly. Now that my daughter talks she tells me every night about her friends and what they did 3. Easy to get ahold of - okana replies to my calls and texts at all hours of the day and night. If I was worried my daughter left something or possibly could be I'll I would call and discuss with oksana after hours and she answered 4. Hours- the hours are VERY accommodating for a working parent 5. Safe - she does background checks and supervises all the staff 6. Patience- as a new mom and very type A I would really grill Oksana every day on what Maya ate, how much, diapers, etc for probably at least a year. She put up with me. She encouraged me. When I would drop off my daughter purely exhausted from no sleep and start crying oksana would give me encouragement. I can never repay her for this 7. Recommendations- I get calls and texts from prospective parents that oksana gave my contact info to for a reference. She never tells me. This is obviously because she does not want to influence our rec as well as she knows she has the best daycare in weho 8. Home made and nutritious food for our littles Not so cons cons 1. Language barrier - the staff are Armenian/Russian so there is a language barrier but they speak good enough English . Bottom line they are very experienced and trained with the kids 2. Regimen - if you have strict feeding and insane requests forget about it. This is a daycare. Of course medical needs diaper regimens they will follow. But if u want them to only eat your prepped food and make them force feed your child the won't. They are great providers. I worried about my daughter's weight (10-30%) yet my pediatrician never did. It's her genetics but I kept trying to ask them to force her to eat more. Oksana (without knowing) would echo my pediatrician's advice. Because she has been in child care business for years!!! A true gem of a daycare! My son has been at Gardner little school under the care of oksana and her staff for a year and a half now. He has flourished there both mentally and socially and is way ahead of his peers. He is seriously smarter than any other two and a half year old I know and it's due to the attention, care and education at Gardner little school. My son is always happy and has so much to talk about when he comes home - he loves his teachers and his friends. I love that Gardner is a small private daycare, only 12 kids. It's hard to get in, I was luckily able to get in off a waitlist. Myself and other parents talk during pickup and we all agree how the school is a true blessing and we have been so lucky to find it. The Gardener Little School is beyond amazing. Oksana, Lilly and both Lucys were like a second family to our son. There were tears, on both sides, on his last day. The ladies truly treat the kids as their own. The meals are homemade and very healthy. The children were free to play and interact but were taught manners and mores by the ladies. We loved that our 9 month old was in a group that varied in age all the way up to 4 years old. He learned a lot of great social skills just by watching and interacting with the older children. There is music lessons every morning and outdoor playtime in the afternoons (weather permitting). Oksana takes real care of ensuring the daycare facility is clean and welcoming to children. The outside of the daycare is decorated for every holiday with such enthusiasm that all the kids look forward to seeing it. She is wonderful at answering all our questions and providing daily updates. All the teachers are knowledgeable and you know they have been doing this for years. They have a firm but loving hand. All the children are polite and mindful of each other. I haven't ever seen a child crying or any children fighting. You can tell that they respect each other and the teachers. That's just one testament to how create these ladies are. Our son would go in happy and come out not wanting to leave. I have and always will highly recommend the Gardener Little School. I was recommended Gardner Little School from a friends friend. Best referral I've ever received. My husband and I were having difficulties finding the right daycare for our 16month old son. We had toured three faciltiies and none felt right. When we walked into Gardner Little School and met with Oksana, it felt like home. Our son instantly started playing with some of the toys and looked at ease. Our son is an only child as well as a pandemic baby making him very shy at times. This was not an issue with Gardner Little School. He instantly opened up. Even early mornings when he wanted to stay home, one mention of music class and he was out the door. We have been sending our daughter to Gardner Little School since she was just under 3 months old and I had to return to work. I was a wreck about it, and Oksana, Lily and now Hykush (who my daughter LOVES) who watches her primarily, were all so good to her and to me. My daughter is social and happy and I know it's because she also spends time with so many kids and is part of all this activity, including music classes. She also sleeps better there for naps. Our daughter started going there when she was 8 months old and has just graduated to pre-school at just over three years. When she started, she was shy, didn't interact well with other kids and wasn't happy when we dropped her off. It wasn't too long before she would proudly bring home her abundant art projects (some of them very impressive and intricate), sing songs she learned and talk constantly about her friends and activities from school. They dance, sing, eat homemade, healthy food, play, sleep and learn in a clean, friendly but well-ordered, loving environment. This is for all of your first time moms/dads that are completely freaking out right now about sending your little one to daycare. My baby boy Max who is now 8 months old started at Gardner's when he was 4 months old. This is my first child, I have no family here on the west coast and I was a complete and utter wreck at the thought of leaving him with "strangers" all day. First of all when scheduling to meet with Oksana and her crew to just check things out she and her team were always so friendly and professional. I had lots of questions regarding safety and health code and she had all of her answers ready for me. She is compliant with all codes and laws regarding running a daycare but most importantly these women genuinely care. They offer this European approach to caring for small ones which I found so comforting being that I was raised by a European family. When I arrived to drop Max off for his first day (mind you this was an hour before starting my new job) I cried like a baby!! I thought I was doing the worst thing in the world and these woman were incredible. They were kind and patient, they did not rush me out of there, they empathized with me. They reassured me that I can call or even check in on my lunch break if I wanted to. They sent me photos and texts keeping me updated. I can without a doubt say this next statement with no hesitation. Besides myself (and my mother of course) there isn't anyone else I trust more with my child than this team. I think the secret is that they really do love him and all of the kids. The way they embrace them when they see them or when they say goodbye. The way they are very aware of their eating patterns, bowl movements, interacting skills etc..You can tell they have actual love for them. If you are lucky enough to have found a free space at this daycare and are contemplating a nanny or another daycare instead... I am telling you right now you are a fool if you do not choose Gardners. There just isn't any better caring and professionalism and LOVE anywhere else like this. read more

Our son attended this daycare from eight months until three and a half (unlike a lot of daycares, they take kids less than a year old). It is a fantastic place with very caring teachers. The owner, Oksana, does a great job running the place and has created a warm and loving atmosphere for the kids. They teach letters, colors, shapes - all the things children learn at this age. They also do lots of art projects and have a music teacher that comes almost every day. An added advantage if you are a Russian speaker is that the teachers and owner all speak Russian (they speak English too, of course), so your child can have more exposure to the language. Even after we switched our son to preschool, he continued going to Gardner Little School on the days the preschool was closed as well as during the summer. This daycare is also very reasonably priced. We are very thankful to Oksana and all the teachers for taking such great care of our son. We miss Gardner! read more
