    First day school

I love this school! Is small enough to be cozy but has everything they need. Is a Montessori school, which I can't believe I found one that is actually affordable. They have extra classes that my son loves it. Soccer, taekwondo , piano, and ballet . They have outdoor playground and the Montessori class is a lot fun.

This is a great day care my daughter started here at 14 months old and she is quickly advancing in skills , speaking , writing etc . They have great teachers especially: Ms Rebecca, Ms Melody , Ms Sharon and Ms Michelle their all so kind , passionate and professional. I'm very satisfied with this school and highly recommend to all parents - this is the best day care / school in LA County . - CESAR

We have been in this program since January of 2017 but already in love with it! The Montessori method naturally bring about the inquisitive nature of the child and allows them to think of new ways to do things. They open up the child to learn for the themselves. It teaches them how to discover, but doesn't give a step-by-step direction. Montessori sees the child not just as a miniature person, but as a able-bodied and capable person!!!!!!

Best in k-town daycare for my little girl. She loves to go to LA First Montessori everyday. That tells this school is doing something right.

My son was born…read morein the start of the Covid era which caused us to spend so much time together during quarantine that I had become had one of those dreaded "helicopter moms". I was not looking forward to placing my child in daycare but life happened and daycare was my only option for daycare. I searched and searched and interviewed a few local places in the area and was not satisfied. They were not the right fit for us. Finally, I found Maria through Yelp. I read all the previous reviews and decided to give this place a shot. My son was not used to be around anyone who wasn't family and suffered with separation anxiety from me. I knew this transition would be challenging. To my surprise, my son was happy and comfortable at Happy Village right away!!! From day one to current day, he has always been happy to go to "school" which proved to me this was a safe and loving place. The environment Maria and her team has created is nurturing with elements of early education and interactive play time. She keeps the kids on routine which is great for their development. She has a great selection of educational toys and books. She feeds the kids healthy home cooked meals. The place is always clean. She celebrates holidays and every child's birthday. During the summer, she'll even have a little kiddie pool for the children to play, always under adult supervision. My son has such a good time at daycare. It's been a little over 2 years now and we could not be happier with their care. She has an amazing staff to assist, Miss Leslie is so kind and patient with all the kids. We love her too!! It is not easy to find a good quality day care but rest assured, your child will be in great hands here. We love and adore Maria. She really is a gem.

It seemed like I had landed a few dream jobs only for it to slip away from me. Really trying times. Then I met Michelle! This brings a smile to my face. Meeting with her felt like chatting with a friend. I realized after that this is her skill. She loves people and wants to represent both the families and the nannies. It was a slow period and she didn't have any job opportunities at the time when I signed up with her agency, the perfect placement. After being on the hunt for my top nanny job with a kind family for many months and it wasn't happening I was getting ready to move out of state. I mentioned to Michelle that I'm no longer looking for a position as it doesn't seem like it's going to happen. Michelle didn't give up on me. She called me with 2 opportunities. I went on both interviews and was called back to do a trial for the one that I wanted !! Yay !! Then Michelle negotiated some time off that I needed to take care of a health issue. The family was so wonderful they waited for me ! All I can say everything lined up perfectly. Michelle will always return your call in a timely manner and she always checks in to see how you're doing. I thank God I met Michelle !

She is truly interested in building life-long relationships for her clients. I also have to mention how much I appreciate her responsiveness. Her follow up is lightning fast! Got him interested to use scissors (found out he's a lefty here and provided him lefty scissors) and through his art class made some classy stuff. Pieces that are still on the walls of our house. Stuff he made for Father's Day that is still sentimental to the hubby. They go on monthly field trips (like Kidspace) but what's cool is that they utilize Metro or Dash to the city library for magic shows, story time, puppet shows, or to parks like Grand Park (splashing around). It is affiliated with a Japanese Buddhist church so they do go to the Hondo for some gassho and singing with the minister in the morning (15 mins). From observation the families that utilize this resource are very diverse--I would even say that Japanese families are in the minority here. I am of the group that chose this place due to its proximity to my workplace, and I think others have too. Ms. Susan has been director for quite some time and I've personally seen old students now adults say hi to her at Nishi obon. Staff are very kind and nurturing. The daycare is nicely situated in a space that is shaded so they aren't going to roast when playing outside. Even now as my kid is enrolled at public school TK I still take him here during LAUSD winter breaks, or the myriad of "no instruction days" on their calendar. They take kids up to age 6 so this has been a godsend to me. Kids as young as 2 must come potty trained. Currently monthly tuition is $1170 might be $50 lower per month if you pay to become a temple member.

But Ms. Susan, Ms. Maria, Ms. Gaby, and the whole team are so loving, that my fears melted away immediately. They made my son know that he belonged, and that they looked forward to seeing him every day. The teachers really get to know the kids, their strengths and needs, and develop an individual plan for each one to help them grow intellectually and personally. Each year, they complete an academic and social-emotional evaluation for each child, and it's amazing to see how much personal detail goes into the daily activities. The Nishi Center isn't just a school, it's a real community, both for the kids and the parents. Some of my son's classmates have parents who went to Nishi when they were kids thirty years ago, and they drive across town to give their kids the same great experience. My younger child just started at Nishi, and I'm so glad that we get to continue our relationship with this beautiful group of people in this very special community.
