The sales team was the worst. The Maverick does not work as they promised in the store. We asked specifically would it work with our Sonos. Oh yea no problem! We were told. They checked and asked around and more than 1 told us it would. Not only is the Maverick trash, our experience was as well. I will never shop here again nor will I recommend it. We paid for "White glove service" which was required. They came and left our couch unplugged because they did not know how to connect it to our system. We called and told them to pick up the couch as it was not what they promised. They put us in the phone with tech and they said it was not compatible with our system which we were specific about. They did not want to honor the return especially without restocking fee although they sold it to us under false pretense!!! So far the speaker has gone out more than once. Yes they sent someone and ordered parts. Too soon for this couch to not be working properly. We rarely use the audio features because it sounds like trash compared to our Sonos system. Couch is comfortable, Light, Massage and heater features work well. The plug in chargers don't work well. The wireless charger does not charge. It will keep your phone from dying but it will not charge as well it heats up without even using it. We called in about that. They said they didn't find anything. This piece of furniture was not cheap. I have given it as much time as I could have to let them make it right. Had my hopes high for a great experience. We purchased it last year and have had so many problems with it starting with the sales experience! Absolutely unacceptable experience. We ordered a mattress online and were clearly told it would be ready for pickup at the Mt. Pleasant location on Wednesday. Based on their confirmation, my husband drove 2 hours from Grand Rapids--a 4-hour round trip--only to be told the mattress was never even put on the truck from Auburn Hills. No one called. No one emailed. Nothing. They just let us make the trip knowing full well the order wasn't there. This isn't a small oversight--it's complete incompetence and a total disregard for customers' time. Four hours wasted because no one could be bothered to do the bare minimum and communicate. When I asked them to at least make it right with delivery (since this was entirely their mistake), they refused "for no reason" and instead offered a $100 gift card...for a future purchase. After this experience, why would anyone want to spend more money here? Mistakes happen--but this level of disorganization, lack of accountability, and weak attempt at resolution is unacceptable. Our furniture purchase of couch, recliner, and reclining live seat are extremely uncomfortable. A service person inspected our furniture and made a couple adjustments on the electric sofa but was unable to satisfactory explain the bulging and bunching of the seating. It is necessary to use pillows to off set the sagging. His comment before leaving is that Gardner White does not guarantee comfort unfortunately. We purchased a sectional from Gardner White recently. Within less than 3 months the foam inside was already sinking. I called to complain and they sent out 2 men to check it out. They were very rude and said that it was normal wear. i called to complain and was told that they could replace the foam. I called back a month later and was told it had not been approved. I left messages with the supervisor and our sales person - Lois Ann Gardner - who stated on our paperwork that she saw the pics we took and agreed that it "SEEMS VERY SEVERE FOR TWO MONTHS OF USAGE" NO ONE RETURNED OUR VM - so bottom line they did nothing. I bought a living room set and a chair October 2025 for $12,000 Was very hesitant to buy it because I have a puppy and was worried about the leather and the power cord being destroyed. He assured me that is was covered in the $1000 paws and claws insurance policy he sold us. The following spring my puppy ate the cord. I called for service and told them I have the paws and claws insurance policy and they told me no I didn't because it wasn't available in 2025 when I purchased it, it became available in 2026, making me feel like a liar. So I ordered a motor for the couch( it was stuck open in reclining position for many months). I was told it would take 4-6 weeks and I paid for it to be delivered to my home. Many weeks passed so I called and they told me it takes 8-12 weeks. I called again a few weeks later and was told it was there, so she said she would fed ex it to me( I paid $28 for shipping) .2 weeks later I still didn't get it so I called. They put me on hold over a half hour,so I hung up. They called back telling me it was sent to the Auburn Hills store and that I can go pick it up there. WTF, Really??? I PAID for shipping and got the run around for 2 1/2 months. I asked to speak with a manager, never got one. Went online to the chat , they said i would get a call back within an hour. I waited And never received a call from anyone. I've been a customer for 40 years, or should I say I WAS a customer for 40 year, and this is how long time returning customers are treated. No respect, no common decency and definitely no integrity at all. They got my money that's all they care about. Customers service went out the door. Coincidentally , the salesman that lied to me about the insurance policy so he could make the sale doesn't work at that location anymore. Hmmmm. Oh , did I mention how terribly uncomfortable the furniture set is? I won't even sit on it because the back position and padding push you forward giving you a headache becpause it hits you in the back of the neck and head. I tried to give it away, no one wants it. I had it delivered & set up. I called them within 3 days to let them know that the recliners are clunking and shifting. The fabric is loose and wrinkled. One are rest is shorter than the others. What I'm not is indifferent to misrepresentation. And based on my experience, Ron's approach wasn't an oversight; it was a textbook example of why people distrust retail furniture chains: selling one product while quietly charging for another. Customer service only reinforced the pattern. I was promised three separate call-backs, none of which materialized. When I mentioned the possibility of small claims court, I was told, with startling nonchalance, "Go ahead and take us to court." The implication is obvious: this situation happens often enough that they've grown comfortable assuming customers won't pursue $180 on principle. To the one rep I was short with: you didn't create this problem, and I'm sorry for taking my frustration out on you. What makes the entire experience almost surreal is the disconnect between Gardner White's public persona and its actual practices. I am disabled and the recliner I purchased in 2022 broke 3 times same spring so the furniture warranty company issued me a reselection voucher. I picked a chair online I had it delivered last Saturday. The chair doesn't stay reclined unless you fight with it and the chair doesn't sit level so my feet are always at a downward angle and I can't put the footrest down by myself. The chair was only here 5 days and I asked them to switch it out with a lazy boy chair 100.00 less than this one. They won't do it. Do not believe their estimates of delivery - we were told 1-2 weeks and now 9 weeks later we still don't know when the bookshelf will arrive (the rest arrived last week). Family thanksgiving was rough without the chairs we'd purchased 5 weeks beforehand This wasn't told to us until after we had purchased either - otherwise we certainly would have bought the furniture somewhere else. So I came into Gardner White, spoke to my sales person; spent hours finding another mattress. I selected the one I wanted. I was then told I had to do a virtual visit to check the other mattress. I did that. I contacted my sales person to let her know and that I was ready for my new mattress. They now want to charge me $2599 for a mattress that was $1999. We purchased a marble top table and dining room set from them just over a year ago. That set has been amazing and the delivery team was great. A few months back we purchased a power reclining and vibration couch and matching power and vibration recliner from them. The delivery was not good, we have had to fix the springs in the center seat of the couch twice, have had to fix faulty wiring in the couch twice, and have had to fix the bent frame from delivery twice. I also won a $500 gift certificate and used it to get 2 computer chairs from there less than a month ago. Those are terrific, however obtaining them was a fiasco. We were told we had to go to the Auburn Hills store to pick them up. Once there, we were told that our paperwork was done incorrectly, the dock worker acted like finding the missing chair wasn't his issue, and 3 hours later, it took office people going into the warehouse, hunting down our missing chair, and apologizing profusely to us. Bought a new leather sectional in January, and within one week, one of the sections sunk in and is very uncomfortable. I asked for a replacement but was only offered a replacement of the bottom of the sectional. I was promised the replacement part would be in by the end of March or the 1st week of April. On 7/5/25 I went to Gardner White Furniture Store in Warren MI in hopes of seeing a living room set that I was interested in. I had seen it online but wanted to verify the color. The store did not have one in stock but an associate went on the computer and we ordered the set anyways. I was told that it would be delivered on 7/11/25. I got a call the next week to verify that I had ordered 2 living room sets. One from my online order and one the associate ordered online. I cancelled one and expected my delivery on 7/11/25. I got a notice that it was out of stock and I should have it by the end of July. I was not happy about waiting, but I wanted my furniture. It seems that it was still out of stock at the end of July and they would let me know when it was available. I finally got an appointment notification that my delivery was scheduled for Sunday August 31st between 11:00 am and 2:00 pm. which was Labor Day weekend. I cancelled a vacation I had planned and my old furniture was taken away. Sunday morning August 31th at 9:30 am I got a notice that my living room set was out of stock and would not be delivered. I tried to call my associate but he had been let go. At this point, on August 31th I called a manager at the Warren store and canceled my order and asked to have my financing account closed. I was told that if I financed the purchase I would get free delivery. So they opened an account with Synchrony Bank for me.This should have been the end of my story. But NO. On Monday Oct. 20th I got an email that they are charging me a 25% restocking fee for the order I placed on 7/5/25. THAT HAS BEEN OUT OF STOCK FOR MONTHS. I called Synchrony Bank and was told that my account was still open. I closed the account on 10/20/25 and have a letter to confirm that there was no balance on the account and my account was closed (which should have been done on 8/31/25). Yesterday I got a bill from Gardener White -Synchrony Bank that on 10/22/25 (two days after the account was closed) that there is a restocking fee of $337.21 plus a $1.99 paper statement fee. I disputed the charge with the bank. I will never deal with Gardner White Furniture Store again and I have made it my personal goal to tell anyone that will listen what a horrible experience that I had while trying to spend almost $2000.00 for a living room set. read more

6/18/2022 we bought a bed room set from there. Irresponsible service. The salesman said I got approved for my total amount and we good to go. Than when I finally got my synchrony credit card it says I got approved for $7500 and $8250(total). He charged on the account multiple times. At first $79xx and the rest on couple more different transactions. When I tried to get help through customer service they trying to put the blame on credit company that credit card give a room of 10% to go over n that's why I got approved for the total. And they said salesman should have informed me about the credit card situation and when I said he didn't inform me about it they like, I have to talk to salesman. They've lost a 10-year, loyal customer over a $149 delivery fee! Over the years I've spent thousands, upon thousands of dollars purchasing bedroom sets, a living room set, and a dining room table + chairs from here, so Gardner White was the place I went to purchase 2 mattresses this past Wednesday night. You can buy a mattress on sale for $99 online and get free, contactless delivery but Gardner White refuses to delivery another item to the same exact location (11 miles from their store / warehouse) unless I pay $149 delivery fee because it's a clearance item. They must not want your business or care about loyal customer because I wanted to spend an extra $340 to purchase another mattress, but they will only deliver the $99 mattress for free.... Both mattresses would come from the same store / warehouse location and be delivered on the same day. Never shopping here if they can't offer free delivery to a customer on their second mattress when the delivery truck would already be going to the customers home with 1 item to deliver. read more

Customer service told us they CANNOT DO ANYTHING that its just "BREAK-IN WEAR", despite the fact that we paid an additional $225 for an warranty and they cannot do a thing except send service out. They have been out twice and the "fix" lasts about a day and it's back to the same. An Obvious design flaw in the construction, so BEWARE of the SOUTHERN MOTION brand and MORE SO OF Gardner White. They are obviously NOT the level of what the Art Van company was. Having been a retail store mgr for 40+ years in two major companies that sold furniture, I have never seen, experienced or dealt with such a LACK of integrity on the TV media, in print, and of said declarations and promises at point of sale and failure to stand behind their "additional income" of worthless warranties. Bought a mattress and free box spring from Saginaw location. Mattress has no support whatsoever and box spring constantly sliding off Fram. Old box spring never did that. Commercials say they will take old mattress. Delivery people refused to take it so they lie. Mattress has prematurely broken down an I have continual back spasms. These only happen when trying to sleep due to GW poor quality workmanship. Deliveries are only made on their schedule. Refuse to deliver on days a person is actually home.
