WORST TOW DRIVER I'VE EVER HAD!! Shady AF!! The driver arrived not wearing a mask, then he bullied us to go to an ATM at a nearby WAWA to take out cash to pay him for the tolls (to and from) he'd have to take to get to the location. I asked him for a receipt and he told me that he couldn't get me a receipt (or change) at the moment and I would have to wait and he'd get me a receipt from the toll booth. He LIED. He dropped our car off and when we went to ask him for the receipt, he got behind the driver's wheel, put his sunglasses on and drive away. He was extremely rude and very unprofessional. If your car needs to be towed, you're already having a bad day; Don't make it worse by calling this towing company. AVOID AT ALL COSTS read more

My Mom hit a curb and the airbags went off. This guy shows up and pulls the car 2 miles to his yard. Car still runs and drives. He wants my mother to pay him $200 PLUS give him the title!! Instead I have a junkyard come get it same day and she gets $400 from the junkyard. Gargoyle Towing charges her $280 for the tow!! Worst part is, he double dips her debit card for $550!!! "Oh, it was a mistake. We'll refund soon." a week later, still nothing. My mom calls the cops. They go over there. All of a sudden the refund comes through. Miracle! 93yr Father needed a jump, left lights on. Gargoyle guy came and then claimed my dad needed a new battery. He sold my dad a rebuilt one that never held a charge. Car already had a real battery only 6mos old that guy took. Had to fight it and work Thru AAA for partial refund. Avoid them! read more

Very possibly the worst towing company I have ever had the unpleasure of dealing with. They were assigned to my flat tire by AAA and when they arrived they told me they could not change the tire because 1 of the lug nuts were missing and they did not want to be responsible. I explained the truck had 5 lug nuts per wheel and I would gladly sign anything they wanted releasing them from responsibility. They still refused but offered to tow the truck. I said no and had them leave. Thinking about it I said maybe they are right so I walked to the local auto parts store and purchased the missing lug nuts on my lunch at work. After work when I called to have the tire changed I explained to AAA that I understood the tow companies concern so I purchased new lug nuts. The tow company still refused to do the job basically leaving me stranded for 2 hrs until AAA could find another tow company who finally came and changed my tire. The second company was so professional and a pleasure making me realize exactly how awful this company was. Thanks for leaving me stranded, it left me plenty of time to wright you what I feel is an honest review. You could learn a lot from your competition hopefully after they put you out of business. read more

Worst experience ever. Waited over 2 1/2 hours. Then came w bad truck they claimed they had to switch out. Took another 1/2 hour to do that. Add insult to injury the new truck was in worse condition. Of course had no gas in it so driver went to specific station out of the way to fill up. Then driver tells us as we approach toll booth that we have to pay tolls. Finally in route and bounced and rattled all the way to destination. My wife's back is still killing her 24 hours later. If you are stuck ask aaa for a different towing company u will be glad u did and avoid a totally mis managed 3rd world company. read more

Our starter went on our truck 7/18 8:30PM. AAA sent Gargoyle to our aid. The driver was on time, courteous and helpful. Someone had taken me home to get my car. I said I would follow to the dealership in Hazlet and bring my husband home. He said there was no need as we could go home and he would deliver the truck; with us to call the dealership in the AM. Fast forward 2 weeks, 8/1 once again the truck wouldn't start at 8:30PM, a different problem. AAA spent an hour calling (per them) 11 shops who for 1 reason or another wouldn't pick us up at Sandy Hook Gateway National Park. THEN they called Gargoyle. The driver was on time, which by this time was after 10PM courteous and helpful. He dropped us off and brought the truck to the dealership. If it hadn't been for Gargoyle we would have had to call a taxi and leave the truck until morning requested by AAA. read more

Worst towing experience of my life! Driver called at 10:30 and said he was on his way to pick up my vehicle. By 1:00 he still wasn't there, I called him and he said he would get there when he gets there and he's doing me a favor! By 4:30 my truck still hasn't been picked up and apparently passed off to another tow agency to be picked up. It is now 5:07 as I write this and my vehicle still hasn't been picked up! Do NOT us this company for a tow!!! Horrible!!! read more
