I have been a Mavis customer for the past three years and have had multiple services done on my…read morecars at your Somerset location. On 11/19/2025, between 3:30 PM and 4:00 PM, I brought in my 2007 Honda because it was pulling strongly to one side. If I let go of the steering wheel even for a second, the car would drift toward the sidewalk, making it a serious safety issue. When I arrived, Jose (name provided by Eddie) took my keys and had a mechanic inspect the vehicle. After the inspection, Jose called me inside and told me that everything was fine with my vehicle and that all I needed was four new tires. I knew this was not accurate because worn tires alone do not normally cause such a severe pull. I asked the mechanic who inspected my car whether installing new tires would fix the issue, and he immediately disagreed. He pointed out additional problems with the tie rods and other components, confirming that the vehicle had more significant issues. When Jose overheard this conversation, he became aggressive and said, "You need fucking tires. I told you. you Don't follow recommendations." He then walked away, ignoring me. I asked for the manager, and Eddie stated that he is the manager. When I asked Eddie for a cost estimate for the necessary repairs, he looked at me with a smirking, dismissive expression. He stared at the computer screen and began mumbling, pretending to be professional while clearly gaslighting me. His behavior was extremely unsettling--something I have never experienced at Mavis before. Eddie never provided a cost breakdown. I asked him why he was behaving this way when all I wanted was to have my car properly diagnosed and repaired. I also made it clear that I had no issue purchasing new tires as long as the main safety problem was addressed first. Eddie responded by saying, "I make a lot of money. I don't need more business." This statement was alarming and completely unprofessional. At that moment, it became clear that neither Eddie nor Jose had any concern for customer safety, ethical conduct, or even the business's reputation. Their actions were not just unprofessional--they were parasitical, showing a complete lack of morals, accountability, or respect. Based on their conduct, it is clear that these two employees cannot be trusted, and they should not be allowed to interact with customers inside the garage area under any circumstances. Their behavior raises serious concerns regarding honesty, safety, and proper oversight.

Or so I thought They told me they'd have to see the inside of the car to see what they had to do I showed them the inside They said it would be $150 to do it Was expensive but I said ok do it Next day I go to drop my car off they tell me it's $200 Not only did they mark up the price out of thin air But they left pieces of old stripped wires all around my trunk where they installed the subwoofer and left my door panels all out of place even breaking clips. If I could rate 0 stars I would. $200 down the drain for a job that for someone with experience takes less than an hour He even left a plastic wrapped car battery static protector I had in my car INSIDE the ported subwoofer box. Unbelievable. I genuinely was gonna go back just to catch the worker that did the shitty job off work N give him a lil one two mayweather but i stopped myself He ain't worth it Jus ain't goin back there Ever. They also left the screws for my sub out of it leading to the sub jus falling out when I was driving Fixed that myself cuz i ain't goin back there ima go ta jail if i do. Fucking Scammers.

I saw the BELOW COMMENT by the purported owner William posted Mar 10, 2025 .It caught my attention…read moreas Bill's picture is shown as the Owner's response, inferring that he is onsite. To my knowledge ,Bill retired and stepped away from GT automotive at least 6 years ago. I've been there a few times after Bill stepped away and more times prior to Bill retiring. Perhaps he is still the owner on paper, none of my business. I believed that the new owners were, Julie and her husband. I did not go to GT to make friends, but high quality work. However, Julie is rough, arrogant and lacks any semblance of HUMILITY and appreciation of customers. I stopped going to GT as the front desk woman "Julie" was consistently rude and dismissive. GT does great work, however, Julie was a terrible "Know It All" . ************* July 17, 2026- UPDATE - Responding to the "Owners" response to my post of July 4, 2026.... As to my standards and expectations, Customer Service is not limited mechanical work, it also includes respect, kindness, being treated with dignity. IMO, the "Owners" response to my comment reflects an unwillingness to accept constructive feedback, the need and desire to try to insult, rather than embrace, hence, reflecting a lack of humility, or ownership, full stop. In possessing a civil litigation background, I ask questions, not intended to put one on the defensive, as it may. Julie's husband (a seasoned mechanic) is kind. I just could not tolerate Julie, who works the front desk, and for the most part answers the phone calls as well. She displayed impatience with my questions. She is the conduit to the mechanics. In any business, the front desk gives the best impression on the appreciation of customers or lack of. Julie should be grateful and thankful that GT Automotive is doing well. This is demonstrated in having a high bar on respect and kindness to all customers. My comment should not be misconstrued as a vendetta as alleged, nor do I consider my comment a "bad review" as further alleged. It is intended to provide an opportunity for Julie to receive and accept the feedback in that this is how she may come across to some. Yelp Guidelines is to rate the "Overall" Experience. It is my first hand experience. Unequivocally, I am not a mechanic, nor is Julie. I had not dealt with Bill on my few last visits, as he'd long ago retired, at least 5 -6 years ago. Once again, GT DOES GREAT WORK. ********************* Business owner information William G. Business Owner Mar 10, 2025
