I live in NYC and I have been told in several occasions that Mexican food is not all that here. Based on our experience on this last trip to FL... I can see why people say that! LOL! I usually say that a Mexican restaurant is not authentic if they don't use two corn tortillas for each taco and meats they offer are only steak, chicken and shrimp... and Garibaldi delivers on the variety. I went with Tacos de Tripa (Intestines) and we ordered a Molcajete de mariscos (Seafood). I liked my plate... did not love it; the Tripe was nice a crunchy, but as a whole, the tacos were dry (They also only use one tortilla/taco... authentic?... lol!) They needed sauce... unless they intend for the customer to use the sauces provided for the nachos on tacos as well?... maybe (which I did to a certain extend). I had never seen a "Molcajete" dish... cool presentation. Did no care for the nopales (cactus), but everything else in the dish is pretty great. The place is decorated in a seemingly "culturally appropriate" way :) and there is a bakery section right at the entrance. I'd definitely swing by next time I am in the area! read more

Parking is very congested! Busy on a Sunday morning, primarily Locals. The menu is in Spanish. The salsa has a real bite!! Chips are thick and cold. Fresh tortillas!! Large portions of food that was hot, fresh and very good. Sundays are extremely busy. read more

Delicious! They are under new management. It was always good, but we never thought of it as great until today! Great food great service and very nice clean cheerful atmosphere. I had the menudo and a plantain wrapped pork tamale; he had flautas. Definitely flying back sooner than later. read more

This restaurant is located in a strip mall and you don't notice it as much as other restaurants, since it's kind of small. Anyway, we recently stopped by for lunch and there was nothing small about those flavors! I was longing for Mexican food and chose the Bistec a la Mexicana, which was beef in a flavorful sauce with veggies and a side of beans and rice. Hubs went for the Torta Al pastor, which was pork layered in bread, with a side of crispy fries. We had great service, drinks came quickly and the chips were homemade with a tomatillo sauce that was spicy but very tasty. My flour tortillas were homemade and so good! Hubs sampled several, so I hid the last one. The restaurant was crowded and if all the dishes were as good as what we had, it's no wonder. They have so many offerings on the menu, we're definitely coming back soon. read more

This was recommended by a Mexican-American friend and had high hope. Stared off great, real house-made tortilla chips were served immediately, thick, fresh, and tasty. Asked for a coke with lemon, the waitress said coke with lime and I corrected her. As you anticipated, it came with lime. Common in Mexican restaurants because of some translation issue, but still she knew better, but was just inattentive. The waitress recommended the mixed fajitas, beef, chicken, and shrimp. I went with the recommendation. However, shrimp was missing in action. The chicken bits were good, but the beef was inedible. I must admit though that lime wedges are good with coke. Might go back to try the tacos. Will as my friend what she has there though. read more

I've been to Garabaldi 's many times, but tonight was a knockout feast worthy of taking the time to render my appreciation. I had the best pozole soup I have had in ages. We also had a homemade chicken tamale along with a dinner of enchiladas verte. We had a really disappointing meal here. This was quite possibly the worst Mexican food I've ever had. Aside from the magnificent guacamole, everything was blah. The enchiladas rojas had a thick, flavorless red sauce over tortillas stuffed with... mozzarella sticks? It was bizarre. The refried beans were as expected, but the rice was overcooked as well as flavorless. Luckily they had a good hot sauce on the table which saved the day and made the food much more edible. The day before Thanksgiving is a notoriously busy day in restaurants and they seemed unprepared. It appeared the were only 2 servers and after we're walked in (there were about 3 other tables at that point) the pace filled up rapidly and they were managing 10-12 tables. It doesn't excuse the food, but does somewhat explain the lackluster service. I'd be pretty comfortable never going back. read more

I honestly don't know what's been going on with Garibaldi, but the taste has been drastically declining lately. I love Garibaldi's, because they're pretty authentic and I love me some Mexican food; but unfortunately the few times I did visit, the food has been so bland and not living up to the Mexican named dishes or sides. I went today, and EVERYTHING on my plate needed salt. Not a good sign. Might have to give them some time off and try again, but not anytime soon. I come here a lot with my family, at least once a month, it is the closest thing around that reminds us of home but i noticed that the food quality has gone down a bit. The al pastor tacos had to much of the (achiote) seasoning and tastes like paste. If you go around 2 which is considered lunch and you are a party of 4 get ready to be charged 20% tip without notice. When I was getting ready to tip my husband suggested to ask if tip was included before tipping (again, because the screen prompted to do so) and I told him of course not because a party of 4 could be 2 parents and 2 kids (which is most families) and they only add the tip when party of 5 or more but I was wrong. I asked and she said that with a party of 4 or more they do automatic 20% tip AT 2 PM LUNCH, not dinner. The automatic doesn't bother me, what bothers me is that we were not told that the tip is automatically added because they don't give you a receipt before pay they just hand you the machine with the total and no notice. we have been going to this restaurant for about three years now. Unfortunately this place has been getting pretty bad lately. The food is just substandard and the margaritas have gotten really bad. I think they stopped making fresh margaritas and are using the pre-made stuff you buy in the store. The problem with that is the pre-made is just flavored wine. The chips and salsa are pretty bad. The chips are thick and bland. You get some hot sauces but pay extra for anything with substance to it. If you can't read any Spanish the menu is difficult to read. The food is bland and not anywhere near what Mexican food should be. Sorry but we are not coming back. read more

I was recommended this restaurant by a friend. This authentic Mexican restaurant and pastry bakery is unique and delicious. If you're looking for the real deal you have come to the right please. The facility is clean but furniture and atmosphere are surely outdated. They have every kind of Mexican staple you could want along with a fresh pastry section. The prices are affordable. Tacos are $2.75 or so depend on what you want. One taco can easily be two with the extra tortilla they give you with each taco. The tacos came with with meat, cilantro, radishes, limes, onions, and sauces. The taco order took less than 10 minutes and the staff are bilingual.
