We came in for happy hour yesterday. The margarita "mix" is a fluorescent blend of sour mix and something that makes it crazy vibrant green. We passed on the $5 house margaritas because the mix looked scary. We ordered "skinny margaritas" in the hopes of getting actual lime juice in the Margie's. No such luck. It was basically straight booze with a splash of orange juice? Undrinkable. And, wait for it, $34 for two margaritas. I had a tostada, my companion ordered enchiladas. The check was $78. With the tip we hit $100. Totally absurd for really bad Tex Mex food and undrinkable Margie's. I wouldn't send anyone to this restaurant for a margarita. Ditto for the Tex-mex "out of a can" food. They serve refried beans that were runny, rice so dry that it's crunchy, and that's just the sides! I felt very sorry for the two ladies on the floor who each had to work as hostess, waitress, bar tender, and cashier. The help is very nice and attentive. Fortunately, the place was mostly empty. But in retrospect, it was likely empty on a Saturday because it's so bad. Just don't go here. Really. The only win is the bar stools on the patio. They are high enough for the tables and have great backs, so it's very comfortable to sit on the patio. read more

We've been customers since they opened--awhile ago, and have had many, many good times and excellent meals with our family and friends, both lunch and dinner. We hadn't been in some time, for a number of reasons, but ordered takeout last night. Since our last visit, they have new owners, and we had 'meh' experience. Food was cold when we picked it up. Guacamole was bland, pico de gallo had 6 tomato cores in 1 cup serving, enchiladas had only about 2 tablespoons sauce and were covered in MOZZARELLA cheese--this isn't an Italian restaurant, is it? Hostess was nice but concerned about changes affecting her future job! Apparently, they have ditched previous owners recipes. Generally, just not what we expected from Senor Tequila--oh, new name is just Tequila. New owner has Ft Myers restaurant, too, but it's not important, since we will not be back. I have been going to this restaurant for many years with a delightful experience & great food. Tonight, Cinco De Mayo, I assume would be a fun place to take my in-laws. Wow, what a mistake!!! Apparently, this place was sold recently & new owners took over. We commented that we didn't recognize anyone from the previous owners working there. We waited almost 20 minutes to be seated. This was expected as this was a busy night. Sat down at booth @ ordered beers at 6:15. Chips were brought over soon after. At 6:30 we ordered our food and had a few more beers and enjoying our company. At 7:15, I began to question whether they lost our order? I was assured by our server that the food was being prepared & would be out soon. I asked for more hot sauce, which she kept forgetting. 7:45 pm, I'm starting to get a bit heated as the table next to ours asked us how long we've been waiting for our food. I could see them, along with many other customers, being very aggravated at the lack of service. 8:00, I asked the "manager" when the hell our food was coming out as we've waited over hour & a half. He apologized & said coming right out. He said the meal would be 1/2 price, which I laughed at. 8:20, food arrives. The tacos are cold, along with the rice. My in-laws who ordered chicken nachos got beef nachos instead which were, unfortunately, cold! The waitress finally comes over with my hot sauce & I ask her what is going on. She claims "they didn't anticipate such a turnout tonight". Manager comes over again & says the meal is comped. Great, after almost 2 hours & cold food, they feel vindicated. He claims "what more do you want me to do?". It's very clear he's clueless. The restaurant wasn't packed and it's Cinco De Mayo so how does a restaurant screw up so bad. Again, apparently the new owners have no idea what they're doing. To top it off, as we're leaving they're blasting some Miami rap music on the outdoor patio. I'd say tonight was a masterclass on how to screw up a nice, friendly, dining experience with good service. read more

If waiting forever for waiter only to be served wet chips and microwaved pre-cooked fajitas is your idea of a great night out, run there. Honestly go really soon... theres no way they'll stay in business. There was no hostess or apparent manager, onky two servers and a bartender. Though not acknowledged when we went inside, we were seated after a few minutes. We consider eaving at that point. A waiter sat us but first cleared out table and wiped it down. Half the restaurant was empty tables full of the previous guests drinks and plates. We waited a while.for a waiter. We were privileged to enjoy the wet chips twice. Queso birria tacos had a decent flavor but were a soggy mess. They were apparently heated in a pan and not fried like most restaurants. Steak fajitas had mushrooms which was really weird. The steak was clearly pre-cooked snd sliced before plating. It was piping hot like it was fresh out of the microwave. There were no redeeming properties of this meal and I would not return. read more

Senor Tequila's atmosphere is pretty bad to start with. Their service was good as were the chips but that is the last time I will use the word good in this review. The margaritas had very little if any alcohol in them & the fajitas tasted terrible. We will definitely not go back. read more

We enjoy Senor Tequila's and have been going there for years. Unfortunately,they updated the lighting and it is way too bright. Almost, blinding in the entry and the ceiling fixtures look like stage lights. Please get some dimmer switches or turn the lights down. The ambiance is not warm and inviting. read more

I went on a Sunday night around 7:30pm. There was very few people there. 2 at the bar and 3 tables with 2/4 people at each table. My husband and I sat around and waited for about 10minutes and got up and left when we saw that another table was serviced before us when they had just arrived. This restaurant has some of the nicest servers we've come across. The menu has a good selection of various favorites. Hubs ordered the enchilada suzas, that came with a tomatillo sauce, yes I sampled. My cheese enchiladas had the traditional red sauce, also good. They serve chips the color of the Mexican flag, along with two kinds of table salsa. They have a well stocked bar if you're craving a margarita. We ordered desert this time and the sopapillas came with a drizzle of chocolate along with honey. Interesting and tasty! I hope the owner reads the reviews here. Prices are extremely high for what you get! For example, small Tortola Soup is $11 and $14 for the Big one! $14 for chicken soup!. Portions are small and god forbid if you try to change ingredient in the dish. The food itself is just average, nothing special. The 3 stars are only because of the nice waiter we had. read more

Delicious Mexican food! Free chips and salsa with every order- they serve both hot and mild which catered to everyone. For an appetizer we ordered the cheese dip- sooooo good!!! The portion size was huge as well. For my meal I ordered the chicken fajitas. Overall they were delicious but they seemed to have a lot more onions than anything else. They were good but I wish it had more chicken. My husband ordered the chicken taco salad which was tasty as well. Services was good but it was not busy at the time. If you look at the photo, it came out as a bowl of soup, mostly brown liquid, with some onion/cilantro garnish. It maybe 5 tiny pieces of dry meat at the bottom. Served with tortillas but there's nothing to dip/wrap around as it's so soupy. The kids thought it was okay, and didn't want to finish the shredded beef (very salty and dry). They served me toothpick size pieces of steak that were burned to remove all moisture on a pan of mush they said was peppers and onions. We came in today for a rare dinner out. We had a group of 4 adults, a baby, and a 2 year old toddler. It was around 5 pm and the restaurant wasn't at all busy, with plenty of empty tables. The guy in charge wanted to put us in a 4 person booth. We asked if we can have one of the multiple empty tables so we'd have room and he kept insisting that we can fit in a 4 person booth. He insists that our 2 year old toddler in a high chair share the walkway side of the booth with the stroller with our sleeping 3 month old while the four adults sit on the booth. That's ridiculous. We stopped in here shortly before happy hour- so it wasn't busy at all. I could tell some serious business was about to go down soon, as there were many employees working quickly to prepare. We were greeted in a friendly manor. The atmosphere is slightly dark and cosy for such a large place. We were seated immediately, and given waters and chips and homemade salsa- one mild and fresh, the other super crazy hot- which my hubs loved. The chips weren't the best, but the salsa more than made up for it. We saw a sign that read marriachi (sp) bands play there sometimes- how cool would that be? We made a mental note to come back when they are playing. That would be fun with kids or a group of friends! The food came quickly and was good. Not too spicy and not bland. That's my thing... most mexican restaurants have bland food- this was tasty and plentiful- we could've easily shared an entree- which we did- and were glad we did as it was just enough! I have been eating at Señor Tequila's for several years now and it's had its ups and downs . I think yesterday is the straw that broke the camels back, if you will. First let me say that between the two locations they cannot keep things consistent. The Collier Blvd (951) location gives you bigger portions of toppings while the otter gives bigger portions of sides. I was also charged different prices on liquors and beer. Half a dozen times there has been a sever error. The server would bring out a different dish than asked for by me or another person in my party. Yesterday I decided to go there for dinner with two friends. The server was very polite and helpful. However she served a chimichanga instead of enchiladas to one person in my party . I ordered the NEW ITEM on the menu, the Petite Shrimp Quesadilla. My first bite was very good and the rice and beans were okay . Then my third bite in I found a nice chunk of plastic . I stopped eating and waited for the server. I didn't ask for a different dish, I wanted the same dish. They remade my quesadilla and I had a piece of it and it was fIne . There tonight for the first time. Very disappointed. My dish, The ENCHILADA SUIZAS was beyond salty!!! One friend liked his, the #2 on the menu. Other two friends had the same dish, QUESADILLA ES ASADA. Both said the meat was tough and only ate two wedges of the eight there. When the owner or manager asked how we like it, because they couldn't finish it, we said the meat was very tough. He never said a word, got the dishes and disappeared. He lost 3 of the 4 customers who eat out a lot!!! He could have said something. The price for a small mug of a virgin pina colada at $5.75 is pretty high. Oh well. First time here ! Food was pretty good, service was great until my husband asked if the appetizer was coming out soon? Manager came running over and said " what's the problem?" My husband said just wondering where the app is do not want it with our meal. The managers answer was " they are cooking back there when it's ready you'll get it" Very rude from a manager!
