They have one of the best bbq pizzas in town. Crust is hand tossed and sauce is good with the bbq meat. This location has a lunch buffet that is reasonably price. Price includes a beverage which is self refilled. Today Tuesday they had Italian salad, meat filled tortellini in an Alfredo sauce, penne pasta in a garlic butter/olive oil sauce. They usually have garlic bread at the buffet. And of course pizzas of different combinations are brought out to the buffet. Overall a good buffet that has different pasta dishes depending on the day of the week. The ambiance is typically quiet. You order at the counter and they bring it your order at the table. Garibaldi's is Old School Memphis. In fact, we are exactly the same age, both of us around since 1975. So I guess, that also makes me Old School Memphis too. I feel it.... and I dig it.... Not much has changed as far as the menu, the decor, or the vibe in all of those nearly 50 years! I just recently added this place to my rounds again after a nasty ass pizza in Walker a few years ago. Food is what it is, you will get what they have always done, no matter what. No frills here folks. This location is probably my favorite. The one on Walker is nowhere nearly as good, food wise. They have really cool pizza decorated plates. It's the wildest thing. You look down and think you have pizza on your plate, but no.... It is empty You walk in and order at the counter. They ring you up, cash you out curtly, and hand you a number. Smiles and a reply to friendly conversation would be cool, but whatever lady.... It's her style and it's always the same.... You can figure out the rest is the vibe I get from her. I don't dig the meatball sandwich, I am not sure why. I tried it again recently and still just meh. Meat lovers pizza is good, as well as the White Pizza. The White one is pretty unique and is a nice and light pizza when you need a change. The original hand tossed crust is good, but I really prefer the "thin and crispy" or "Neapolitan" style pizzas depending on what menu you look at. The "Neapolitan" version differs wildly at the Walker location, it is not even the same pizza in any way, not sure about the Mt. Moriah location. Maybe I should get by there and check it out too. It IS right next to Gibson's... They have a buffet.... Not sure when it is open, but it is there. It has always been empty on my visits. My last visit I realized a manager here is a baseball expert. He loudly discussed the World Series behind me the whole time I was there. He should be paid for his baseball opinions, because he has a whole lot of them! We came at a late-lunch time--uncharacteristically, for us, in the pizza department. Only twice have I had pizza at the Garibaldi's near U Memphis, though we live about twelve feet from that location. Hadn't been to this Germantown location before. The Germantown store has a charmingly cheesy high-school-pizza-joint atmosphere. Solid, accurate, prompt table service by a remarkably gracious employee. SUPERB pizza. Unusually tasty crust. Nicely, evenly cooked toppings. Quiet as the place was at the time, it seemed perfect for lingering conversation...so that's what we did. The one thing I don't get: Why does this place close at eight PM? Don't Germantowners eat late-night pizza? In my lost, ancient youth, you could go out for pizza at one o'clock in the morning. I'd be here weekly if they were open later than this absurdly early closing time. read more

Garibaldi's is one of my top five pizza places! I love the freshness of the food. This location is an older building. They have been there for many years. I had the (all) meats pizza and it was outstanding as usual! Its always cooked to perfection. My wife usually goes for the Ravioli and Garlic Bread. Their pasta and sandwiches are very good as well. The place is always clean and the owner/manager takes pride in his restaurant. There has not been one time, he didn't come out to greet us, and ask how the food was. If I had to come up with an improvement. I might say the decor could use some updates and they could purchase some black pepper shakers for the tables. Those are very small things though! They are always cleaning something. The place is very nice. This particular day they were up-sizing the pizzas for free. I ordered a 14" and got a "16 They also do an all you can eat pizza buffet on Sunday's. Its very good as well if you can catch it! I wish I had one in my area. Was looking for Pizza in the Germantown area on Yelp and this came up! I had never seen or heard of this place. We dined in on a Sunday around 330. We placed our order at the counter for a 16' half cheese/pepperoni pizza, a large chef salad, an order of meatballs and a side of marinara sauce w/three drinks. The order came up to $46 which is t bad at all. The restaurant is setup where you get your own silverware, cheese, peppers, napkins and drinks yourself. After placing your order, they hand you plates and you seat yourself. The salad came out first. It was very good, filled with toppings and the ranch was very good. Not sure if it was homemade or not but still very good. Then our pizza came. It was fresh and delicious too. Though we ordered meatballs which was from the appetizer menu, they came once we were half way done with our pizza. I truly think they had forgot about them. We had to go back up to ask for the side of marinara sauce but when the meatballs came out, they added an addtl side of sauce as well. The meatballs were very good, tho we waited the longest for them, they were not as hot (temp) as i would've have expected. Overall, the food was good. So my coworkers and came to get the buffet but found out they only do it on a specific day (Sunday???). Apparently coming for the buffet used to be a tradition during inservice week at the end of the year so we were bummed but decided to just get some food here anyway. I've had the pizza from here a few times and it's always been pretty good. On this visit, I was trying to be healthy and also didn't want leftovers, so I opted for a wrap. Big mistake. It fell apart as soon as it was brought to me so I ended up using a fork to eat the insides. Also it was pretty bland. I'll stick with the pizza here next time and split it with someone if I need to. Pizza and service here were great! We ordered two pizzas - their white pizza and their Buffalo ranch chicken pizza. Our kids loved the white pizza (we got the Canadian bacon on only half of the pizza) but my husband and I were disappointed in ours. Buffalo chicken pizza is our jam at many of the pizza places around here and we were a little caught off that this one had red sauce alongside the wing sauce and ranch. The tomato flavor really messed up the rest of the flavor profile and the red sauce wasn't mentioned on the menu. We both wondered if it was a mistake or if it's meant to be there and almost said something but honestly just didn't want to cause a fuss when the owner was so nice. We'll ask about it next time we go BEFORE ordering (and ask for it to be left off) so just a heads up if you're like us and enjoy a good Buffalo chicken pizza! I have been coming to Garibaldi's Pizza since the mid-90s when I was in high school. It was pretty bomb as hell. With an arcade that had a row of pinball machines & 7 console stand games. Now that has since been gone. But forget about the arcade. I haven't been here in years & I have wondered what it's like to eat here again. It was a big disappointment the buffet selection was boring in selection & taste. The pizza could have used a bit more garlic the heating area could have been a bit warmer. The salad was ok as they offered your basic dressings & caesar too. I really can't say much about the pizza breadsticks & dessert. I really hate to say this but you are better off going to CiCi's as they live up to my expectations of a good pizza buffet taste quality & variety. Garibaldi's did not offer me any it was super basic & the same price as Cici's for a small selection I was hoping for it to be a dollar or 2 cheaper. Until they start to make improvements I will not be coming to this store again. I have yet to have gone to the Highland store or other locations around the city. All I have to say is go to those locations maybe they are better. I can olny speak on this location. If you are a bronie looking for a group in Memphis I suggest going online & checking out the Highland store for time & day. But other then that until we meet again. read more

Garibaldi's was a mainstay during my years at the University of Memphis, and it had been years since I had enjoyed a trip to their lunch buffet. Although I had never visited their Germantown location, I was not surprised that the food here was just as good as the location on Walker Ave. The buffet included a smorgasbord of Italian classics: salad, penne pasta with marinara, ravioli, garlic bread along with other sides...and of course, the rotating selection of pizza. Slightly overwhelmed by all the options (it's an all-you-can-eat buffet), I went with two slices: cheese and pepperoni along with penne, ravioli, salad and garlic bread. The pizza was just as greasy and delicious as I remember. The ravioli and penne pastas were tasty. The marinara was a little lighter than I would have preferred, but it was still flavorful. The salad was relatively straightforward but made me feel *slightly* healthier by having some green on my plate. The small slice of garlic bread rounded out my plate nicely. Living out of town now, I miss having Garibaldi's so close to me, but it's always a treat to have it when I come back home. I haven't had a Garibaldi's Pizza since I moved from Germantown years ago. My soccer teams went there regularly to celebrate or drown our sorrows. I ordered a Garibaldi Supreme. It came out in 15 minutes & was as good as I remember. All the traditional Italian dishes are on the menu as well. The Italian Spinach is particularly delicious. Wow, they must have had a lot of Carryout & Delivery Orders last night. As I was leaving, I heard an employee tell a customer over the phone "45 to an hour." I think that baked chicken got the best of me on my first visit and I might have over-evaluated this joint. It turns out that baked chicken is only on Mondays and Wednesday's are chicken and dumplings. They weren't great by any means. I'm not sure what the other days are. When I'm at pizza buffets, I only want to eat the pizzas that have been out of the oven for about 10 minutes. I don't even care what the pizza is if it's hot! 10 minutes later, I don't want it. There were 4 or 5 partial pies out at 11:30 that were all old and cold. After I got some C&D and one slice of cold pizza, my friend and I waited for 10 or 15 minutes for something hot to come out. Once it did, they brought out several in a row and the world was a better place. Today's lunch was only 3 stars, but I have to average it with my first visit which was 5 PS.
