I had to replace the window balancer on my Milgard windows. I called Garland - Fields glass and windows since I saw they were authorized dealers. I have never had to do any sort of upkeep on my windows so this was definitely out of my comfort zone. When I called they were really helpful and instructing me on what I needed and when I walked in they walked me through how to find the serial number how to fix the balancer from start to finish. I ordered my replacement parts and I was advised it would take 7 to 10 business days and then I got a call later on in the day letting me know they had the piece and I could come pick it up! With the instruction I was provided while at the store I was able to pick up the pieces and replaced the balancers myself! 10/10 recommend!!! read more

I had a small problem with a window lock and I happened to see the store so i went in and asked . Laurie asked me what brand of windows I had ,which of course I had no idea. She walked me through it. I discovered that they were Milgard. Her husband stopped by and was able to set me up with the Head office. Everything is going to be fixed, NO COST to me! Like another reviewer, I like to use local trades people. Dave and his wife were so helpful in the store. We needed to replace three doors in an old house. The price was fair but, most important, they use their own installers. Brian and Richard are masters, very polite and helpful. Two of the doors were French doors replaced by sliders. The job required a lot of ingenuity to finish them well. They hit it out of the park! I highly recommend this family owned business. read more

If you want windows and you want a pleasant experience you need to see Dave Fields. I had put off replacing my 70 year old sash windows because of horror stories I'd heard. Everything from installers showing up hung over and vomiting to blinds being broken and holes put in walls! I prefer supporting locally owned businesses whenever possible, but some places don't make it easy... I can't say enough good things about Dave & his company! Their prices are just as good as any big box store out there as well, which really makes it easier to support local business. We've lived in the area since 2008 & have used them 3 times now... once soon after we moved to the area to replace a kitchen window that wasn't replaced when the previous owners changed out all but that one. A 2nd time to replace the glass from a living room table that was smashed, & more recently to replace some Milgard windows that got cloudy, as well as replace 2 bathroom windows with obscured glass. Dave was as very welcoming & easy to work with. He provided great customer service & was just as professional as could be. I'm not sure if he does all/majority of the install work on big projects as well, but Dave & his son did the install themselves for our project, which I found to be quite impressive. They spent a good amount of time getting every detail exactly correct... to the point that after the install was complete & they were cleaning the windows, there was one speck somewhere on the window that I couldn't even remotely see, but they weren't satisfied until they had it perfect. I highly recommend Garlands for window replacement. I purchased 28 Milgard windows in 2009 from Garland's. They were prompt, efficient and respectful of my home. I have been pleased all these years. A couple months ago, my window cleaner noticed that the four smaller windows had moisture in between the panes. I immediately contacted Dave and all he requested was specific information contained within the windows themselves. He explained that the windows are 100% guaranteed and that he would have the manufacturer contact me asap. That happened and within a few weeks the four windows were replaced and I wasn't charged a dime. Perfect customer service -- a rarity in this day and age. Garland's is the best. read more

Highly recommended! We had a problem with our window, which was purchased over a year ago. We couldn't close it, and it was a safety concern since it was in my child's bedroom. Dave couldn't reach a service tech through the manufacturer. He came out to our house on a Saturday to fix it himself. We were very happy with the purchase, but even more so with the level of customer care. This is a company that stands behind their product, and is willing to go the extra mile. I'm a General Contractor who specializes in high end projects & finishes for repeat customers with very specific needs. Others would call them "picky" but I would prefer to it being their prerogative to expect "the best" when they choose my company, and therefore I never have to advertise, and stay extremely busy via word of mouth. Accordingly, I require the same level of detail from any of my subcontractors & vendors, and set the bar extremely high......... possibly too high at times. Of all these subcontractors & vendors, there's one who exceeds in all aspects consistently, and I've worked exclusively with them these past 18yrs. I say "them", but don't want to give the false impression that it's some huge company............ it's not.............. it's a personal relationship with a family owned business, where Dave and his wife Lori are as friendly & professional as you'll find anywhere out there. They have the added advantage of having a very nice showroom, where I can bring my customers for the "touch-feel" experience of what they can expect when I'm finished in their own home. I pride myself with a very good knowledge of the product I install, but Dave & Lori can take this a few steps further when it comes to showing and explaining various other details & optional features. This is only the 2nd review I've ever written in my life due to a combination of a) not enough hours in the day, and b) the inability of subcontractors & vendors to meet the heady heights of my expectations.
