Well, I took my vehicle to get it serviced as previously my other review and they scratched it and they acted like they didn't do it and then I got that fixed and then they messed up my trim on my lights and they tried to hide it and act like they didn't do it so now I gotta go get that fixed And then they're gonna reimburse me all this to get something messed up fixed that should've never happened in the first place, but I got my vehicle from Killeen and they switched my battery out and go figure. The battery was the problem when I took it to the Temple location and I bought my car brand new so they shouldn't be any issues like that. I recommend the Temple location if you like getting your car serviced and having further issues after your car serviced so just make sure you do a walk around if you take it there and make sure you check on the inside in the outside because they probably added something extra that wasn't there before you dropped it off read more

Originally went back to this dealership for another Volvo, even ordered a Volvo but then decided to test drive a few of the Volkswagen SUVs. I drove a Taos and a Tiguan. Both Misty and Bobby were knowledgeable about both vehicles. Misty pointed out all the amazing features of both of the SUVs and I decided on the Tiguan since I wanted one with AWD and blind spot monitors. I was wanting to downsize from the midsize fully loaded SUV that I had just sold, and the Tiguan was the perfect fit. It has all the options with great gas mileage. Finance was amazing and fast, they will let you know all the options and it's no pressure. Absolutely terrible customer service. Super pushy and annoying. Me, my kids, and my girlfriend were very excited to go look at a particular car that we were very interested in buying. Even while test driving they were very pushy on questions. The woman who helped us seemed to be trained to constantly ask pushy questions along the lines of trying to get us to take the car home that day. We had to tell her multiple times that we couldn't, because she kept asking and asking. We were planning on getting a car here, not anymore. Will never come back. This dealership will definitely get my returning business. I drove over 200 miles to buy a car from them, and I will do so again if opportunity and timing present itself again. Parker Jackson, general sales manager, sold me my Golf R last year, but he has been replaced by Bart Bass. Bart Bass continued the excellent customer care by sending me replacement wheel lugs to resolve the missing wheel lock key that no one was aware of when I initially bought the car. Unfortunately the wheel lock cap and wheel lug cap is not the same. With such dedication to patrons of Garlyn Shelton Volkswagen, I am sure they will fully resolve my problem by also replace the caps. I will let all the reviewers know if anything other than great customer service resulted. Yup, the Bart and the service & parts dept. fixed me up with no trouble. I wanted to finance through my bank and was told I couldn't because the dealership was in a different county, and that they have a good place I can go through. The salesman told me a price and then was brought into the finance office where my payment shot up another almost $200 a month. I asked about my interest rate and was then told it's being financed through VW itself I did not get a choice it was not until I had already signed several papers he told me it was a 84 month term. The finance manager did not go over everything like he should of and I was pressured and rushed on every part of this experience. They took advantage of a naive customer. I was then given my brand new $50000 car on E and had to go straight to the gas station to fill up. I felt like the whole experience was terrible so when I got home only 3 hours after buying the vehicle I called and asked if I could return it and bring back that day they said it was too bad because I took it. Returned first thing in the morning to speak with the GM he would not shake my hand and then trespassed me for telling him the deal was not right so now I cannot get my $50000 vehicle serviced at the dealer I bought it from. I was looking for my first car in almost 6 years when I came across Garlyn Shelton Volkswagen. I had my eye on a Mini Cooper that they had but unfortunately didn't have a big enough down payment since my credit is in the rebuilding stage. I had to wait another couple of weeks and the car got sold by the time I had a good down payment ready. I was disappointed but Lindsy was super helpful and nice about finding me a car within my budget and down payment range. I ended up getting a 2014 Dodge Dart at her recommendation and have never been happier! Super friendly and they won't pressure you into getting anything you aren't comfortable with. Sales team does not omit all deals possible to new buyers. Used cars are overpriced. Sales manager Dana Harris is confrontational and rude. Sales team claims to try and be helpful but hide better options. Finance team gives loan options that a better for the banks and not the buyers. Do not recommend. They left my to be serviced vehicle sitting on their lot for 4 days and didn't so much as touch it, yet called me twice about coming in to purchase the other vehicle. When I came to pick up my to be serviced vehicle I got griped at that I should bring it back another day and buy the vehicle I was looking at from that salesman not the saleswoman I had spoken with. Garbage. Have an appointment in Austin for Monday that they will fix my service vehicle within an hour and take payment for their 2016 ZL1 Camaro as soon as its finished. Found the car I wanted, at a great price and the sales department was quick and super responsive to my million questions from afar since just running over to take a look wasn't an option for me. Had everything ready to go when we got there on a Saturday afternoon for a painless transaction. Every time we take out vw bug there, it comes back filthy! They messed up my headliner putting in a new antenna, and blamed my husband! Never plugged my temperature gage back in. Had to make numerous calls to get them to fix my headliner. Then we drive all the way there(64 miles ) to pick it up, and the whole inside of my car has grease prints all over including the new headliner! The outside was filthy with cat paw prints from one end to the other! And I had over 200 extra miles on my car! When I mention how dirty it is, after awhile they say they can detail it. This had to be the most happiest day in my life despite it all. I must first start at the top with the one gentleman from internet sales Mr. Bill Schneider, who I don't even know, however he started the ball to rolling, he contacted me, and also called again to see how my first visit went, and also went the extra mile to find out why my first visit wasn't successful. Then, the young salesman, Mr. Israel, very soft spoken and very very kind. He showed me to the car that I ultimately left with today, 2016 certified preowned Passat!!! Israel, not only showed me the vehicle, the first day, but he also told his managers about me and my situation, I'm assuming. Israel, called me I believe everyday the next couple days, which led to today and told me, he felt like he had to fight for me to drive away in my now new car! AND I NO LONGER HAVE A CAR NOTE!!! I also want to say a very huge thank you to the 2 managers ( sorry I forgot your names) but the two guys who say yes or no to a deal. Also last but not least I believe his name is Jason, another young salesman, who showed me the features on my new car and also, showed and walked with me a quick little tour of the service dept, while Israel was busy with another future customer. CAUSED PERSONAL PROPERTY DAMAGE AND RECEIVED TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE On April 16th, 2014, I took my 2011 VW GTI into Garlyn Shelton to have my vehicle looked at after my check engine light turned on. Turns out that after 3 years of owning this vehicle and performing all scheduled factory maintenance, my high pressure fuel pump was no longer working and NOT covered under m powertrain warranty. After making a complaint to VW Corporate, they asked me to take in the vehicle anyway to open a case on the issue. After waiting approximately 2.5 hours only to be told by the Service Rep. that my problem was not covered under warranty (which I already knew), I turn and look to my right and see my car rolling out of the garage, down a hill, and straight into a fence after the incompetent mechanics forgot to put on the hand break. Not only was I not offered any kind of apology for wrecking my vehicle, the only thing that was reiterated by the Service Rep. was how embarrassing the situation was for THEM. After waiting another half and hour for a rental car to be provided for me, on which I had to pay a $50.00 deposit out of my own pocket, I turn to see all of the mechanics surrounding my car and laughing about what had happened. Completely inappropriate. After all was said and done, never did any member of the management come out to offer an apology or deal with the situation, which is one that I feel warrants escalating to someone with actual authority. It has been over TWO WEEKS since the incident happened and I have yet to receive my vehicle. Although they did pay for the damages they caused (which I feel is obligatory), I have been hugely inconvenienced by not only the damage and devaluation of my personal property, but a two week long wait for a repair that should have taken a couple hours, and the added expense and liability of a rental car. The worst part of about this situation is the fact that none of the staff, including management, took any type of personal responsibility for the accident or provided an apology AND I am still being forced to pay for 25% of the original fuel pump repair. This dealership does terrible business and I highly recommend you avoid giving them your hard earned money. VW Corporate did provide excellent customer service in handling the situation, all incompetence and abysmal customer service lies solely at Garlyn Shelton Volkswagen. read more

My experience with the Service Dept was excellent. They were diligent, communicated with me every step of the way and saved me money! I am from Austin but the car had trouble when we brought my daughter to school near Temple. Her car wasn't turning over easily on a cold start, but ok if the engine was still warm. The team ruled out things like the battery and other stuff, identified a problem with fuel pressure and first replaced the fuel filter but that didn't fix it and the fuel pump needed to be replaced. They kept me updated as they waited for the pump to come in and fixed it the day it arrived. I was impressed with every person I encountered- the lady on the phone, Brandon, EJ and the technician. And, they applied a coupon that saved me money! read more

Went in one day just to look around for a Passat that I would be purchasing in the next few months. I walked out with a new Passat TDI SE within 4 hours and I haven't regretted it since. Eric is great and gave me a good trade in value for my Jetta. Will and Jessica made it a fun process. I mentioned that the cable in the console was for the older iPhones and that I wouldn't use it since I have a newer phone. Last week I got the lighting cable in the mail from VW. I have been taking my car there for regular service for 3 years. I took it there today to get the A/C serviced. They quoted me $817 to get both A/C fans replaced. The fans were blowing FINE !!! When I showed up to pick up the car they said it would be $$1750.00 because the compressor was bad too. I told them to put all my parts back into the car an I would take it to a reputable dealer. They agreed and said I would pay labor, BUT THESE PEOPLE ARE THIEVES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Avoid them, oh and if I die in a car accident because of something they did, THIS IS EVIDENCE !!!!!! read more

They're only getting one star because this won't let me post with 0 stars. Long story short, my wife and I took her car to other VW dealerships before for oil changes and things always went wonderfully. The very first time we took it to this dealership, she was only able to get 7,000 on a 10,000 oil change. Took it to VW and they said "well VW only guarantees 1,000 per quart of oil". The second time, she was below the minimum oil level after driving only 1,500 miles. There is clearly something wrong internally. She spoke to someone and was informed that for $135, a diagnostic would be done and they would "locate the problem" even if it took longer than an hour. She took her car for a diagnostic and she was told there's something wrong with the engine so we can take it apart and eventually tell you to replace the engine, or you can just replace the engine. Then proceeded to charge the $135, even though they guaranteed they'd find the problem, then didn't. We have been doing research and apparently VW is notorious for putting piston rings in carelessly, causing oil consumption issues for hundreds of cars. Seems like a VW problem if you ask me, but unfortunately you have to pay thousands of dollars just to identify that there's an issue caused by the manufacturer. All this to say, very displeased with the service at this dealership and will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

Brought my 2010 Jetta in for a Fuse recall (97AM) this morning. Granted I have aftermarket HID lights installed, but they were working this morning and I checked them even before I left work to drop the vehicle off at the dealership. Part of the Fuse issue is "some external lighting could be inop" (that's as per VW). The service advisor (Jacob) told me that the tech found the light inop; I told him it was working before I dropped it off.....no response. Just didn't care and kept moving towards the freshly washed car to get me going on my way. Sorry....I worked for many years in dealership as a tech and a simple voltmeter and 10 minutes of their time would have determined if the aftermarket light was the issue. Knowing that this recall affects external lighting, knowing they'll get paid from VW if affected recall parts are the root cause, that's all they had to do...just check. This guy didn't care - really poor service and judgement call on his part. read more

Just horrible service . Went in for my 1st 10k service which wayne said would take an hour to hour 15 minutes. Almost 2 hours later car came back to me un-washed and the service light was not reset. I asked for the service manager wayne came back and said he would be out in a minute (15 minutes later) in the 15 minutes I waited wayne had told he was in there doing research on me to be prepared. He came out had zero customer service skills , just babbled and said would you like some gas for your troubles. That's how he wanted to resolve my almost 3 hour appointment. When it came to my 2nd service appointment I told Anthony about my last service experience . He got the job done and gave me a free car wash coupon to get out of there asap. To bad all the GREAT advisor' s are gone it is always a revolving door in that department and the service manager has a lot to do with it I suspect.
