Who knew Atlanta weather could be so ... wintery? I was braving myself to make the drive to work and noticed that I had a nail stuck in my front passenger tire. It didn't seem too bad but with the icy roads, I wanted a quick fix. I stopped by Garmon Auto Service because it was a convenient location. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes - with no appointment - and it only cost $7 to get my tire plugged. Will definitely be back for all routine car service treatments. Thanks guys! read more

GET A SECOND OPINION!!!! I had my alternator replaced by Garmon's team in May last year. I thought the price was a bit high for the service provided but they insisted my car needed a "very specific type of alternator" and before I could think the service was already complete. A little more than 2k and a year and some change later making arrangements to get my alternator replaced again. Don't be like me. Save your money. Go somewhere else. read more

I have a high mileage older car that's paid off. I've always trusted Garmon over others till yesterday. I'm experiencing issues with my starter. It still starts but it's stiff to me. They told me it cranks and I should stop spending money on this car. It's old and worn out. They are not going to work on it anymore. Erik was very rude to me. It's my call what I spend on my car not theirs. They are more expensive than most auto repair shops but I felt like family going there. No more!! Never been treated so rudely in my life. They are closed on weekends too. If your car is old don't go there it's beneath them to work on old cars! read more

My wife and I went in to have 4 new tires mounted and balanced along with an alignment on our vehicle. When we were told that the vehicle was ready, I asked if there was a warranty on the alignment and was told by Gus that the owner would not allow a warranty. We paid for the services and drove the vehicle, and the alignment was severely off to the right. We returned to the shop, and while at the counter Mr. Garmon came from the shop very hostilely and spoke in a very unprofessional tone regarding the alignment. Mr. Garmon stated that the alignment was correct per the specs and that we purchased some cheap tires from China is why the alignment was off. After not being able to reason with the owner regarding the alignment we asked for a refund. He refused but indicated that he would rotate new tires to solve the problem. Although I haven't had my car worked on at Garmon, I was referred to them by another shop. I have a vintage 1971 GM that I require some work. The problem is that fewer and fewer shops have mechanics that can work on this era of vehicle. They promised a call back once they talked to the mechanic. It's been three weeks and I haven't heard a thing. Sad that you can't rely on some peoples promises these days. read more

Sabotage!! Garmon's started off doing a decent job but a bit pricey. But the last few jobs, I started noticing how my car didn't work so well and I would need to make more trips to them. When a family mechanic looked at my car, he noticed my coolant was empty, my car was knocking and this is after Garmon's did a simple oil change 3 weeks ago. DON'T Do BUSINESS WITH GARMONS!!!! I spent a tremendous amount of money on two beautiful classic cars here for repairs..They told me what was wrong?..I paid there prices out of trust!.. After having MANY breakdowns for the same item that I paid THOUSANDS to have repaired,.. I found an expert who showed my all the shabby work done by putting the vehicles on a lift....He walked me through everything!!..materials were used that should NEVER be used on vintage vehicles. silicone patches! ..not gaskets ...even the tune up materials were not even the right ones for year and makes.!!......I thought they were honest......I thought they had some integrity and had even minimal interest in treating people well... Well the old saying is VERY true..What you do to people?..comes right back at you!!...I am left with huge expenses?...and dripping oil..poor excuses for horrible car repairs...PLEASE don't even let yourself follow in my footsteps ..Stay AWAY!!!! read more

I truly feel blessed to have stumbled across this amazing establishment. My car broke down in Jasper, GA and I towed from across town closer to my residence in Stone Mountain. My boyfriend and I had no clue where we were going to take the car. I knew I wanted to take it to a good mechanic that would be more concerned for the best options for me. I found Garmon's Auto Service on google and read all the great reviews. The staff was extremely kind, caring, and professional. They gave me the best possible options to help me with a bad car I was sold. Seeing the car was in bad shape, they advised me to get a new car. Gus the owner was even nice enough to call my dealership to explain some of the problem areas. Also, Rick and Little Ricki were very much helpful with helping us after hours when we initially dropped the car off. I will be bring my car to this shop definitely in the near future. If you are afraid of getting ripped off...don't worry. From my experience they seem to be an honest bunch of guys.

I had some car problems and a the few shops in the area that I called said they don't service my German car. One of them recommended trying Garmon's. After dropping off the car at Garmon's and waiting for a few hours for them to look at it they gave me an estimate of about $600 (about half parts/half labor) They said the parts locally were all about the same price but might be cheaper online so they gave me the option to supply my own parts though there would be no warranty. I decided to get my own parts and they let me store my car there for no charge while I waited about 5 days for the parts to arrive. So the parts came in and the work was completed in a few hours. So far everything seems great and the total I paid was about half the original estimate (no warranty though) If I need some work done in the future I would consider going to them again. read more

My son took his car up there to have the trunk fixed when it would not close. They told him it would cost to $125 but when the work was finished they only charged $100. They were very honest and reasonably priced. I'll definitely be taking my cars back to them. read more

My son took his car to Garmon for an oil leak. They told him he would have to leave it for a few days because they were extremely busy as they usually are. well, a few days later he went to pick it up and they said they pulled the transmission out to try to find the leak but couldn't locate the problem. Charged him over $400 and were unable to locate or fix the problem. Outrageous! Will never go to Garmon again for ANYTHING!! read more

Costs as much as regular auto dealership. I used to think it was a good place to go, but no more. I had some costly repairs done which they did incorrectly and they had to keep my car an additional day to redo, and then it turned out the work still wasn't done correctly. My 70 year old Mom, who USE to go to Garmon Auto Service, dropped her car off for an oil change and a battery light issue. She was told that there was probably a faulty switch or connection, charged $50.00 for the battery check and sent on her way. I called Garmon Auto and expressed my irritation that I thought that the $50.00 battery charge service was unfair, ESPECIALLY since the following weekend we brought the car to an auto parts retail store, they ran a battery check (for no charge) and determined she needed a new battery!
