DO NOT GO HERE! We used to go to this business when it was owned by Vo. It is not the same at all. The average star level would be a 1 or 2 if you removed all of Vo's scores. I took my daughter's car here for an electrical issue at 8am on a Tuesday. We didn't hear from them till we called at 2pm to see if there was an update. They said there were no issues with the car and we could come pick it up. We said we wanted to leave it there overnight to make sure the issue didn't resurface, as my daughter needs the car to drive to work and I we don't want her to get stranded. No call the next morning. We called at 11am to see if it was still fine. They hadn't looked at it yet and said they would look at it now. No return call again. We called at 1pm and they said we needed an NEW ENGINE! No, not engine but a new "motor". We asked for an explanation. These are the reasons they provided. 1. They said we had no oil in the car. - My husband has been changing the oil in the car for the last 6 years. My daughter checked the oil last week. There was oil in the car. The car has NEVER not had oil. 2. There was a valve cover leak. - News to us. This was not an issue before we came here. We have never had visible oil around the oil cover. 3. A cylinder is misfiring. - This is a sign that a spark plug or the coil needs to be replaced. I don't know if they thought we didn't know anything about cars because we are women but they are definitely wrong. We immediately went up there to pick up the car. The car was still in the garage with the hood up. There was a large blue oil drain in front of our car that was supposed to bone dry. We drove away and there was a cloud of white smoke. What the heck! We came there was an electrical issue. The car has NEVER had this issue. We pulled over and drove in my car to the auto part store to pick up a quart of oil. No issues after to put oil in the car. I ran a diagnostic on the car because we have a micro mechanic diagnostic reader. NOW the car reads that there cylinder 1 is misfiring. Luckily we know how to change spark plugs and coils. After we fix the damage they did to the car, we're taking it to Hyundai to finally get the electrical looked at. A wait of money and two days of time. We are out $80 for their mandatory diagnostic fee, Vo didn't have this, the price of an emergency quart of oil and the spark plug or oil after we perform the test to see which one is having the issue. 5 stars to Mr Vo, 2 stars to the new owners, I haven't had the new guys do anything major except for a simple oil change here and there but we were loyal patrons when Mr Vo owned it and ran things. He never fixed what was not necessary to fix at the time and would give us a priority list with low pricing that was always honored, of what we needed to pay attention to and when we needed to bring it in for that service. He never took advantage and would even let us get our own parts without the markup and install them for labor only. He was a very fair man and will liked. I miss him greatly. I give Mr Vo 5 stars. The new guys, maybe 2 stars. I believe they have much to learn about customer service. They just don't have the passion for it that he had. read more

Fast, friendly, and efficient! My family and I have trusted Vo and his team for years. They are reasonably priced and do not try to sell you anything. They will only do the work necessary. They are honest about what you need and do not need. Vo has also gone out of his way to take my father home when his car was going to take a while. However, the shop needs an update. It's old and their bathroom often lacks hand soap and/or paper towels, hence the 4 stars. Took my car up here last week for oil change and headlight but I also told them about a sound issue I had (IF HE KNEW THEY COULDN'T FIX IT WHY TRY) they ran some test to my battery so when I got my car back all of sudden my car wouldn't start now I had NO ISSUES with my battery prior to them doing this "diagnosis" lol then was told "well you had a weak battery anyway" I won't be back after this. On 4/3/21 I had VoTech change out my brakes. Unfortunately for my wife, she had a flat as she was leaving the neighborhood. She promptly turned back to the house and I prepared to change out her tire. I attempted to take off a lug nut. It seemed a bit tight so I gave it all I had and the bolt promptly twisted off. In the end, one bolt came off without having to struggle to remove it. End Tally: 1 nut came off properly, 1 nut was cross threaded, and 3 twisted right off on just the passenger side rear wheel. If you like pictures, check out the image below showing the 3 that sheared off. I attempted to contact Vo. I was told Vo was on vacation and the 2 customer service people just ran me in circles and appeared just to want to get me off of the phone. They were not helpful by any stretch of the imagination. I got out my torque wrench and tested the drivers side rear lug nuts. Every nut was maxed out at 100 lbs, the maximum my torque wrench goes. Every nut was over 100 lbs. I put the one good nut on and got the cross threaded nut into the mess that used to be nice smooth threads, and then I limped her very, very slowly to a service station nearby. I asked them to check the torque on the driver's side and to let me know what it was, and then to replace all of the lug nuts and bolts. I got a phone call from the repair shop shortly and their torque wrenches showed 150 lbs on each nut. I looked up the max poundage on these nuts and it was 76 lbs, Not 150 lbs. I am now assured that my lug bolts and lug nuts are on, and torqued to the factory specs, NOT OVER 2 TIMES THE LBS. It cost me over 2x the cost of VoTech's brake job to get the repair done for VoTech's workers overtorquing. Just save yourself some headache and go to a facility that cares about the quality of their work, not the quantity. I warned you. read more

I had to have my starter replaced and was referred here. I dealt with Vo and I used all my powers to discern that he's a nice and honest man. I mean, he hugged me when I came to get my car...lol. I loved it! He was nice and professional during all four of our conversations. Anyway, I was charged a very fair price for having the starter replaced. I care about that, and that the job is done right. I got both of those things. This place is open on Sunday and I really like that. It was very, very busy! That is probably why I had to call him to be told that my car was ready instead of him calling me (I'm not mad). That's also why I had to wait a tad bit too long to pay and get my car (I am not mad!). Know what? I couldn't care less that the waiting room needs a good cleaning and a complete make-over. DO NOT COME ALONE if... -You are a college student ,young people. -Don't know much about car's body parts, auto repair. MAKE SURE.... -You check and take pictures of your car and all the parts CAREFULLY before and after you come here. -Check the receipts CAREFULLY when you pay for them. (the products, contents, everything MUST match the services you got). And KEEP THE ALL RECEIPTS. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR CAR for more than one day to get fixed or any reasons when you can't track the process. Otherwise, I still recommend this location for really short term and cheap services such as oil changes, flat tires,.... He may offer you a good deal . Details: In 2018, I came to VOTECH AUTOMOTIVE for car's inspection. The owner Mr.Thien when looked at my bumper and said that I have to REPLACE the whole bumper, it CAN'T be fixed. Because the screw holders are broken then the bumper is opened. On April 16-17, 2019, I came back with my car to VOTECH AUTOMOTIVE, and paid $650 to REPLACE the bumper ($880 for other services ). After talking to him many times to confirm the deals, I dropped my car 4 days out there. On April 20, 2019 I came back and pay for it, he printed me a receipt that shows only " Bumper Repair " ( not even included other service which is fine ) that time I was ok, I thought that's the way their business runs. After a few days, I noticed that the bumper had been replaced was MY OLD BUMPER . The screw holders are still broken, some scratches and not even fit the car. I came back and asked him for that, and he ALREADY CONFIRMED that's totally his fault. He asked me to leave my car here again for 3 days and he can "REPLACE" the bumper for me but just for the cheap one which costs $126 because he already painted my old bumper and it costs him over $400 ( I didn't ask for that ) or he can refund me $150 for the difference. I didn't accept that deal and I asked him to give me a full refund AND "OPEN THE BUMPER as it used to be" then I can drive my car to other places to get REAL BUMPER REPLACEMENT. because I don't want him to think that I was making a " free deal " on his business. He said if so he has to open the whole bumper then I can't drive. Because he already lost some money for Car Material ( painting ?? ). The second option is he can keep $200 as I pay him to put the glue on my OLD BUMPER. I can keep the rest and when the bumper is opened in the future, I can go to the another place to replace that. Then, He asked me to leave my car here or " WE HAVE TO MEET AT THE COURT " . He kept saying that and forced me to get out of his PRIVATE PROPERTY after talking to the police officers. Never ever again. Can you mess up an oil change? Well, this place can. Making a mess out of my car. Somehow, during the process, oil was all over the bottom of my car and on all the pipes. Clearly did not know how to take out an oil filter without drenching the whole engine compartment with old residual oil. Came back to have them clean it up, but they reacted defensively and negatively. All I wanted, was for them to wipe it clean. Brought a car here I just bought and they give me an invoice for repairs I need. I was aware of one of the repairs and agreed to everything thinking the car I just bought would be good to go for a while! Boy was I wrong! I asked for them to repair the drivers side seat as well since I could not reach the gas pedal, but when they called me to come pick up my car, they had not even looked at that. That was the least of my worries though! I barely got the car home! The car was vibrating and shaking which it wasn't doing before I took it to them. My first thought was an ignition coil or spark plug. I called them back and they told me to bring it the next day, but it wouldn't have made it back, so I called a mechanic I know. I would like to elaborate, I am not a mechanic and I know you do not only change 1 ignition coil or spark plug, because others usually follow. The price they charged was so high for labor, I thought it was all ignition coils and spark plugs! Back to my car, my mechanic looks at it and they had swapped the snap pieces for coils 4 and 6. They had replaced a knock sensor as well which comes with a wiring harness, well they didn't change the wiring harness even though it comes with the sensor! After they touched my car, I had to spend a ton more money to repair what they screwed up! I thought about taking it back to them, but I don't trust them to touch my car since it was worse after they touched it. Oh and my original code was for camshaft left and right. They supposedly replaced them but now my check engine light has returned with a p0011 code which is camshaft! Absolutely ridiculous. PAINFUL TO BE CHEATED BY THE NEW MANAGER / OWNER Until today, I had been a regular customer of Votech Automotive for the past 7 years. The previous owner, Thien Vo, was a nice person who never tried to cheat people by doing unnecessary repairs. Recently I noticed the the management has changed and a new guy named Hakim is running the shop. He claimed to be the manager because Thien is on long vacation/semi-retirement. My minivan was making noice when turning right. I was told by Hakim and Carlos that the left CV joint needs to be replaced and the sound will go away. He replaced the left CV joint and charged me $280. He also replaced brake pads and rotors for all 4 wheels for $600. I was told that no voice will come now when turning. Just after the minivan was repaired, I noticed that the sound was coming even worst when turning either right or left. Also, the brakes were making noice upon pressing the brake pedal. I went back to Hakim and told him the problem, he asked his mechanic to inspect and gave me list of new parts replacement to get rid of the noice upon turning. The list included a number of items including the right CV joint. and the repair cost want $1900. I politely asked him, "Why didn't you/your mechanic gave me this list 3 days ago? Its a case of "mis-diagnosis" of the problem. If he had given me this list of issues ($1900) 3 days ago, I would have decided to sell the car as is without any repair. Hearing this, he started shouting at me with a very aggressive body language. He didn't take responsibility of the mis-diagnosis and kept saying that I don't know what my mechanic told you to fix 3 days ago and I am not responsible. When I asked him to check the brake sound, he sent his mechanic to test drive. When his mechanic came back and stopped the car, a loud sound came as I complained about, and I am sure that other customers heard that too. Hakim was standing there with me and we both heard the sound but he didn't admit. I requested him to check the brakes himself but he said "NO" very bluntly. Both his mechanic and Hakim refused to take another look on the car and I was asked to leave the property VERY BLUNTLY. HAKIM, THE MECHANIC AND THEIN'S SON WERE VERY DISRESPECTFUL. It was the most painful thing that the son of Thein Vo was behaving equally bad or even worst. Later I found out from others reviews that the shop is sold to Hakim and he is the new owner. What a pity! Thien's son, who could have been a new owner, is working as just another mechanic in his father's shop. OVERALL, THIS NEW OWNER IS KEEPING ALL THE LOYAL CUSTOMERS IN DARK BY SAYING THAT THEIN VO IS SEMI-RETIRED OR ON LONG VACATION, JUST TO KEEP THE CUSTOMERS COMING. HIS SON IS ALSO PRETENDING THIS. I WILL NOT GO THERE ANYMORE AND WARN ALL MY FRIENDS ABOUT THIS SCAM. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED TO SEE THE DOWNFALL OF SUCH A NICE REPAIR SHOP JUST BECAUSE OF THE BAD BEHAVIOR OF THE SATFF AND CHEATING THE CUSTOMERS. Tried to call on status of car, message said it was no longer a working number, so asked Mike about it and AT&T trying to fix. I decided to do a business license search (see attachment) and I'm afraid to say Vo no mo. Some guy named Hakim is the owner. Car was fixed for what about what I would've expected to pay Vo. Too bad they couldn't be honest about new owner (which I specifically asked if Vo still owned). Don't go here if you can help it! We went in for a air conditioning issue. Chris told us it was our radiator. We had not prior issues with it over heating or any symptoms that it was the radiator. But he insisted that was the issue and the radiator was leaking coolant. We told him we would discuss fixing it because we didn't believe that was the issue. He said he would look at the other ac components to determine any other issues and call us back. He never did. We tried calling and they wouldn't answer the phone. But when we called from a different number they answered. At this point they already had my car. We paid the $650 for a radiator and recharge to the ac. Less than 3 days later my ac doesn't work again. I also noticed that they didn't put my car back together right as there was wires dangling from the front, my fog lights don't work and not my fender is broken. Which the front bumper is required to come off to fix the radiator. If they even really did that. I bring it back and now it's the compressor that needs to be replaced and it's going to cost me $850. He never offered any compensation for diagnosing the ac issue wrong. Even though we told him it wasn't the radiator. They just want the money. They don't fix issues here. And if they do fix something best believe something else is going to go wrong. I didn't go back. We don't have money to spend like that. read more

Had my maintenance light come on for my transmission Saturday afternoon and because I drive for work during week, I had to get it done right away. I looked online for shops that do transmission services and there were literally no other shops open, so I went to Votech by chance... and I'm very happy I did! Never fails I get totally stressed because I have an older SUV every time that dash light comes on I dread it. However even though car repair is never fun these guys make it bearable. I honestly would have given this place zero star if I could. My family has been doing business with VoTech for a very long time and never had a problem, until I came in to do a check up on my wheels. I told his son that I wanted to balance my tires out and the next thing I see, one of the techinician started draining my oil, thinking that I don't know anything about it. I over heard the owner telling him to close it up and forget about it. I proceed to confront him about the situation and he said that none of his Technichian drained out my oil. I'd like to recognize Votech Automotive as The Best auto repair shop in Gwinnett County. They saved me $500 for a needless repair my dealership was going to charge me a repair they claimed was "not covered" under the warranty for a 1 year old car. These mechanics were able to determine the repair was completely unncessary and there was no problem with my car. Furthermore, and more importantly, they didn't charge me 1 cent!
