This business ruined a rare, irreplaceable pair of vintage Alexander McQueen silk python pants--a one-of-a-kind piece of art--due to their blatant carelessness. The front desk employee, Rebecca, failed to check the care tags or inform me they do not handle real leather, despite this being a basic expectation for any dry cleaner, let alone one claiming to service "high-end" garments. When confronted, Rebecca's response was nothing short of insulting. Instead of taking accountability, she lied about being the owner (a pathetic attempt to dodge responsibility) and had the audacity to blame me for not "specifying" the material--as if a reputable cleaner shouldn't know how to identify or handle luxury fabrics. Their "compensation" offer? A laughable $500 and store credit. These pants are worth exponentially more(thousands), both monetarily and sentimentally. Store credit is a slap in the face when they've proven they can't be trusted with a dishrag, let alone designer clothing. To make matters worse, Rebecca's deceitful behavior continued over the phone. She deliberately misrepresented her role to shield higher-ups from her incompetence, further proving this business prioritizes covering up mistakes over honesty or customer care. DO NOT RISK YOUR VALUABLES HERE. This establishment lacks the expertise, integrity, and professionalism to handle delicate garments. They will destroy your belongings, gaslight you into feeling at fault, and offer pennies in return. Rebecca's misconduct and the company's refusal to fairly reimburse a literal work of art speak volumes about their ethics. I love the turn around times! I have taken multiple pants to get hemmed and the turn around times are max 2-3 days, if you ask for a next day rush 9/10 they can get it done it for you. I brought 2 pairs of trousers to be dry cleaned-- probably the easiest things to do--and they didn't meet expectations. They are probably clean, though there were a lot of fibers on one of the pants. The main issue is that both were horribly pressed--creases and wrinkles in multiple areas. If a dry cleaner can't press pants, there's something wrong. read more

Here's a short version of what brought me to Garnett Lewis Cleaners. If you are one to get squeamish reading about blood, I urge you to read no further. I was at a wedding and during the festivities I got hit in the forehead by an oversized Jenga block while gallantly trying to save the groom's sister from what would have been severe harm. Blood began to literally squirt out of my forehead almost in a Belaggio fountain show type of way. Fortunately this same person I just saved happens to be a nurse and sealed up the geyser of blood my forehead had become. I made it through and with no stitches, because well, that's how I roll. Unfortunately my suit was a bloody mess (pun most certainly intended) and it did not appear as if it was going to make it. I did some research on Yelp of course and Garnett Lewis Cleaners sounded pretty great. It wasn't until I parked in their lot and was about to enter that I thought to myself how sketchy it looks to be bringing a suit covered in blood to the cleaners. Then I thought, how dumb would that be to do if you actually did something bad that caused that at didn't at least attempt to burn the evidence first right? Funny enough, the only question I was asked here was "is there anything other than blood in this stain?" I began to wonder if this was a cleaners or if I came across my own version of Winston Wolf from Pulp Fiction. Turns out the reason he asked this was so he would know what chemicals to use to remove the stain. They didn't make any promises and I was preparing myself to buy another suit, which I was really hoping I wouldn't have to. When I returned to pick up the suit I was amazed; it was a miracle, it looked brand spanking new! Now if only they could tailor my suit a bit too that would be perfect - it's been getting a little tight lately. The price was very fair too. If I could give zero stars, I would. I am livid with this owner. I have brought a bunch of clothes and money into this business. You know what I got back? Three ruined sweaters for a whopping loss of 900-1000 dollars. Two Vince sweaters and one James Perse sweater, all magically destroyed with zero responsibility and zero attempts to make it right. Maybe it's my fault for giving them a second chance. Then a third. But I simply was astounded that this business, which to be fair, does do a lovely job on shirts, pants, and dresses, could completely destroy three beloved items of clothing so brutally. I'm not talking little holes, people. I'm talking gaping tears in my sweaters that aren't fixable. You know what the owner claimed? Moth holes. You know how I store my sweaters? In closed plastic bins. And funny how the sweaters had no holes before arrival, but magically they appear and it's somehow my fault. I am disgusted and furious. I have lost one sweater that was a gift from my mother and cost almost $400 with seven, count them, SEVEN holes in it upon pickup. (Oh, and I had to find it out when I put it on to wear it, not like they bothered to tell me.) The second and third sweater both got gaping holes right in the front, despite their claims that one of them they "didn't even put through because they saw the hole on it". Let me tell you something y'all- I wore that sweater the DAY BEFORE I brought it in and there were zero holes. Last time I was there, I demanded the owner call me back and explain himself. Shocker that he hasn't bothered. I've had to give all three sweaters to Goodwill at this point as they are irreparable. STAY FAR AWAY IF YOU VALUE YOUR CLOTHING AND MONEY. I have been going to this cleaners ever since moving into the neighborhood. The staff and owner here are friendly, and even remember me by name, and what clothes are mine. Frequently, by the time I walk from my car to the door, my clothes are already hanging up waiting for me to pick up. The prices seem to be reasonable compared to other locations nearby, no matter where I go, men's clothes are always cheaper to dry clean. I do wish they posted their prices somewhere to review. I personally have never had any problems with this cleaner, and they have never ruined anything. They have actually gotten rid of stains, that I thought had damaged the item permanently. They always ask ahead of time if there are any stains, and ask me to point them out, and they mark them. read more

Solid dry cleaner, reasonable prices. They dry clean on site, which is rare. Shirts came back well pressed and without the typical creases down the front (for some reason other dry cleaners don't hang them right on the hangers and cause a post-pressing crease). And they even got a stain out of my wool pants that had been there for like three months! The owner was there at both drop off and pick up and was super helpful. Dry cleaners are notoriously difficult to deal with, but I felt like Garnett Lewis Cleaners was top notch while being reasonably priced. read more

Things started off well. At first, they did a good job pressing my expensive shirts and folding them. Then they got sloppy - pressed wrinkles into shirts got to point one shirt was actually wadded up in package. Owner nice guy on phone would apologize things would get better then worse. Noticed none of shirts were starched - even though it was specified. Owner said fabric could not be starched (these are $400 sea island 100% cotton - called the BS, had my worker take directly to another cleaner and had the shirt starched he claimed wouldn't take starch. ) Disappointing - I don't like dealing with dishonest businessmen. He claimed my shirts were too large to put in bag, think he had other excuses also - can't remember them all. Lots of excuses. Now I take them to Reids Cleaners - half the price and they are folded perfect and starched. It is unfortunate - originally the shirts were done great.. then he just tried to pass off any slop and blame anyone and everyone but his establishment for doing a poor job that another cleaners can do well. I am sure for the simple easy stuff he does just fine. He just isn't an upscale careful detailed oriented cleaners. read more

I am tremendously impressed with Garnett Lewis Cleaners. I took a very light grey wool blazer in to be cleaned. There was a large red sauce stain on the sleeve from (possibly) wine-induced mishap at an Ethiopian restaurant. While the sauce was delicious, I didn't feel like looking and smelling so savory all the time. Garnett Lewis got the stain completely out. I mean, COMPLETELY. I am thrilled. Ruined expensive silk drapes!!! Don't trust. We've used this cleaners a few times with average results but a few months ago I called inquiring about cleaning my silk drapes. I asked if they could perform this service and expressed that if they didn't, no problem. The receptionist said she was almost certain and said if the cleaners had any issues that they would call me on the following Monday. I called Monday to check and they said it was no problem. I picked them up a week later and the silk panels had shrunk by about 4 inches in every direction and the blackout backing was much longer causing the garments to curl inwards. They no longer functioned as they were too short to block light. I was very upset and was easily able to get in touch with the owner. He claimed they were dry cleaned regularly but they clearly had been washed. The entire texture of the silk was ruined... exactly like silk I had accidentally washed in the past. The owner was friendly and willing to try and stretch them out but at the end of the day only offered me a refund if 80 dollars for the dry cleaning. The panels cost over 1000 dollars. Very disappointed. I took them to another dry cleaner who confirmed the damage was due to machine washing. I would look elsewhere for anything you don't want to replace. read more

However, I recently had the pleasure of working with Biren, the owner, at Garnett Lewis. They spent a tremendous amount of time working on a special occasion dress for a customer of mine. While we couldn't save that dress, I will only bring my things here now. And so long to hand washing!
