A small is enough to sample it and I recommend it as its part of the Chicago experience. The workers are quite friendly, but it isn't as much of an attraction as it is a shop. I think if I came in the morning it would've been better cuz perhaps I would see the popcorn being made. Their caramel is a lot crunchier and a deeper toasted flavor and their cheddar is cheesy but not overwhelmingly cheesy. I think our ratio was a bit off but that's fine, apparently they scoop in layers. The popcorn lasted for 4 days, with the caramel going strong but the cheddar not as crunchy from day one ( I went later on in the day). Overall come here to get a bag to try! I'm a huge fan of Garrett Popcorn! My experience at this location yesterday was poor. 5 stars for food and 0 for service and experience. Let's just say, I left without popcorn. I wasn't the only one. There were less than 10 customers in line ahead of me. It should move fairly quickly. Not surprisingly, many customers were tourists or newbies. It's hard to choose. I get it! My issues was their process. Most places have a well functioning process. Not here. I'm not quite sure what one of the employees was doing. At one point, she helped, but then stopped. The employee scooping and packaging the popcorn was very slow. This location has ZERO urgency. I had 30 min left on my meter, I left without popcorn because there were still 3 customers ahead of me after 25 min. I also noticed, instead of fully filling the bags, the bags were packaged FLAT!!!
