Garrison is a treat! Beautiful wine cellar, cool barrel room. Tasting fee includes a charcuterie plate and a small tour. The grounds are nice with a little pond. We found tiny frogs in the grass. The tasting fee of $50 is pricey, yet the wines are good. We bought two bottles at $150 each. Worth the trip off the beaten path to taste here. read more

One of our favorite tasting in Walla Walla, they are appointment only and a bit further away from the downtown tasting rooms but it is well worth it. The drive alone through Les Collines Vineyard up to their barn was beautiful. We were warmly greeted by Laura and she took us down to the barrel room for barrel tasting and was very knowledgeable about the whole process and history of Garrison Creek. Back up in the tasting room there was a small plate of cheese and crackers as we finished our tasting with delicious wines. Since it was a private tasting with our family only, Laura even let our son sit on the fork lift when he definitely enjoyed. Overall, the experience was great and well worth the $25 fee that is also waived with bottle purchase. Garrison Creek Cellars was one of the wineries we visited when we were in Walla Walla. When visiting this winery, you'll want to book an appointment in advance as they do not accept walk-ins. The facility and grounds were very well kept and manicured. During our appointment, our hostess gave us a tour of the facility and we sampled some wines. She also put out a plate of cheeses and cured meats for us, which was a lovely gesture. The tasting was $20 a person and you get to sample: - Tempranillo (white) - Merlot - Malbec - Cabernet - Syrah This is such a small boutique winery that if you want to purchase their wines, you'll have to be put on their mailing list, as they do not offer wine club membership. You do have the option to purchase their wines during your tasting appointment if they have them available. I really wanted to love their wines, but I didn't. I find their wines too fruit forward and ripe for my palate. I prefer my wines to have earthiness and minerality notes in them. Service was fantastic, but I don't think I'd be back. If you are a wine lover and love cabs and merlot, this place is worth checking it out. read more

Such a great experience every time we have the opportunity to visit. The wines, while limited production and allocated, are wonderful expressions of the estate vineyards. All of the team have a depth of knowledge and as a working winery and vineyard, you are participating in much more than many tasting rooms can offer. Wow, so glad I made a reservation for this place after the great reviews. Lauren I believe was a great hostess, she gave us a wonderful little tour and was friendly and knowledgable, all of the staff were great. I loved the intimacy of this tour and the grounds are amazing, so tranquil and calming and the architecture is beautiful. No expensive was spared here but it wasn't pretentious or unfitting of the area (unlike a lot of Tuscan or Italian themed wineries) this was just stunning. The wines....amazing. The Syrah was fantastic, as was the merlot, tasting from the barrels was a special treat. There's a reason so few wines are produced here and I appreciate their wine making philosophy, if the grapes aren't good for that wine, don't make it! I highly recommend this delicious and beautiful spot. FYI: Reservations required, plan on an hour there, $15 tasting fee, wines start at $65-$$$$. WORTH IT. read more

Make the journey off the beaten path to this winery! Set in the center of beautiful Les Collines vineyard which provides grapes for many of the best wineries in Washington lies Garrison Creek. It is a stunning property set at the base of the blue mountains. The extraordinary barn that hosts the tasting room and production facilities is equally as stunning. Known for its very small production of exceptional Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and other wines, it is open by appointment only so please call ahead for a unique barrel tasting and tour. After your barrel tasting you're then treated to a tasting of their currently released wines along with a small charcuterie plate. Their wines are some of the best in Washington whether you drink them upon release or set them down for years. You will want to take some home with you , especially since the releases are limited! We've visited Garrison Creek several times in the past to purchase their wonderful wines and take in the views. Kai, their very knowledgeable GM, has hosted us several times and we always enjoy our visits there. This time we had a special request: to help us plan our son's proposal. Thanks to Kai, gracious and kind as ever , it went beautifully! Our son and his fiancé will forever share this memory with our family. Beautiful winery. I wanted to love the wine after others raved about it, but I was left unimpressed. Bottles are overpriced for quality. Walla is home to many wonderful vineyards with if not more impressive wine. Also, our tasting felt rushed and felt slightly unwelcoming; maybe it was just that day (08/2019). This was the first tour/tasting I've experienced! We tasted all reds and they provided some cheese and crackers which were much appreciated. The wine was lovely and very fruit forward and bold, which is my thing! One critique: It would have been VERY nice to get an email explaining how to arrive. The gate is locked and not very well marked. Then you have to wait for a shuttle to lead you in. It also would have been noce to have more conversation with the server. Quite possibly one of my best wine experiences. This place is quite beautiful. Excellent customer service. Our tour, barrel tasting, and bottle tasting all performed by a wine maker and was very private. They even give you a cheese and cracker plate with your tastings. However, there are things to know if you want to come here. Notes: 1: They are by appointment only, so call and get yours scheduled. 2: They are off the beaten path a little and their sign on the road is very small. It's very easy to drive past. 3: Be prepared to pay a fair price for their wines as they run in the $60 range. However, their wines are well worth it. read more

Garrison Creek Cellars is the winery for the famous Les Collines vineyard. Since the vineyard is the main moneymaker, they have the luxury of holding onto the wines for an average of 5 years before releasing. Exceptional wines that are drinkable upon release, but very age worthy. They are open for tasting by appointment only, but is worth the effort and drive out to their beautiful tasting room in the middle of their vineyards. read more

Visited this small winery based on several recommendations by local wineries. We were not disappointed. The wine was my favorite of all I've tasted so far in Walla Walla! The winery is reservation only, but we were easily able to book one same day. The tasting was $10, refunded with bottle purchase. It began with a barrel tasting of Malbec, followed by a tasting of Tempranillo, Cabernet and Syrah. All were wonderful. The man who gave us a tour was a student at the local viticulture school and very knowledgeable about both the vineyard and wine making in general. The wine itself was unique in several ways. Garrison Creek only uses 3% of the grapes harvested from the popular Les Collines vineyard where it is located. The rest are sold. The Garrison Creek wine is only stored in new French oak and aged in that oak for over 50 months. I found one of the results of this to be a fabulous Syrah which already seems aged to perfection. I won't give anything further away, but take my recommendation and visit this lovely winery for yourself. read more

I usually don't bother with appointment-only wineries as there are so many great spots in Walla Walla and I always feel compelled to buy. I'm thankful that a friend on our trip booked an appointment here - it was so worth it. Very personalized experience and great wine. The drive up through the vineyard to the winery provided a nice break from the normal tasting room experience. The staff was beyond friendly and knowledgeable -- they actually worked at the winery vs. just being tasting room staff. $15/pp tasting fee waived with purchase. Bottles around $70, which is north of what I usually care to spend but the wine was very much in that "special bottle" category for me and the tasting fee was waived, so ended up taking one home. Overall, a super pleasant experience that I would recommend to anyone visiting Walla Walla. read more

This is a private winery, and requires you to make an appointment. Fortunately, we went on a wine tour and she made the reservation. All I can say is W-O-W. The wine makers do it more for a hobby. It's half-owned by the guy who is the "M" in MSNBC. This matters, because unlike many of the newer wineries, they don't need to make a profit. So, they can hold off on selling the wine, until it is ready. And wow, is it a step above all the rest. The co-owner, David March, is a HOOT! And he explained the wine making process really well. And there's nothing like barrel tastings to see how the wine finally tastes after it's been aged for the right amount of time. The building itself is phenomenal and has a story behind it. The wines here are $55/bottle (there was only two available at the time.) Strongly recommend! read more

Long story short - he was nothing but helpful and accommodating, and made for an awesome moment for everyone involved! It's an absolutely beautiful setting with mountains in the background, and a beautifully refinished main building.
