When telling them not to drive on a specific side of my house, as they'd unplugged my internet cable 5 days ago and I just got it fixed today, they acted like it was no big deal. I tried to explain that my work from home job is to use the internet and I was out a week's pay, he turned his machine back on and said either "F*** her" or called me a "F***er". My two toddlers were watching from the window so I'm less than thrilled. I believe his name is Mike, as that's what it sounded like the others were yelling as he drove his truck into the lines on Monday driving through my yard. Was told they would not remove stump until it had not rained for two days. Came during rain storm and made ruts in mine and neighbors lawn. Destroyed flower bed because they were "chasing roots". Unfortunately I was not there when they did work and picked up check from front door as requested. Called owner about damage He said he would come out and look. That was a week ago. They may be doing their job, but they are rude and dont take in to consideration that people need to get through streets in their neighborhoods. They block driveways and make you park on the street. What if an ambulance, firetruck, or police officer needed to get through in an emergency? Streets and driveways should not be blocked unless giving notice beforehand to the residents and the community. read more

I would leave no stars if I could. I actually have not used Garth for service but my neighbor has twice. Both times my neighbor utilized Garth to cut a tree down, they damaged my property, did not notify me and just left. It's difficult to get Garth to own up to the problems he causes. This last job, Wednesday, September 19th, Garth decided to use my yard and driveway for their trucks which put many ruts (the ground was quite wet after overnight heavy rain) in my yard and bare spots.. not sure why Garth didn't use the driveway and yard of my neighbor. My neighbor asked the day before if they need to come into our yard to clean up would it be ok (there was no mention of DRIVING THROUGH MY YARD). I said yes as long as they notify me first because I need to make sure the dog is in the house. Garth didn't notify when opening my double gate, wedged the one gate open to where I had difficulty unhooking it. The other gate Garth opened too far and damaged some of my plants. Garth left without closing them. There was mud and grass clumps in my driveway. They almost broke my driveway marker. Garth damaged one corner of landscape timbers. Garth dumped the large pieces of the tree across the street in front of my house. Never heard a word from Garth. I talked to my neighbors and I had to call Garth. Finally got Garth to come over Saturday morning, September 22nd to discuss the damage to my yard. He said "sorry" and offered $40 to cover the cost of dirt and grass seed. I pointed out that there is a rather large area that needs repair and the cost of material would be at least $100. He didn't even want to cover my time to keep the area watered. Garth called me "crazy" and left. Waiting to see if he contact me but I doubt it. read more

I hate to give a poor review, especially to a mom and pop business. We all have bad days, however, my husband and I gave Garth and his crew more than ample opportunity to make right on the contract that we agreed upon. My husband and I were both home while the work was being done, however, when it came time to pay, my husband was on an important call so, I dealt with Garth for the first time. I thanked him for his service as it was obvious that his crew had worked very hard. I then asked him to remove the remaining debris as contracted from behind our shed and cut the remaining stump "flush" to the ground as contracted. He told me that my husband had asked him to leave firewood (he did not) and that he could not cut the tree stump to the ground because it was too close to the fence and it would damage his saw. Further, "lady, you got a steal of a deal. No one else would have done that work for that price". He wrote the tree as "flush" specifically in the contract and charged us accordingly. Since my husband was not present, I conferred with him later to find out if he had requested firewood. He had not. We decided it was appropriate for my husband to call him and request that he come back to complete the job. He came back this morning and only removed the very large tree chunks and did nothing else. I called him around noon and asked him when he would be coming back so that I could plan my day accordingly. He said he was already there and he completed the job and I should go out and look. I reminded him of the contract and said that I could see from the house that the stump was still above the fence and that he left the debris behind the shed. He said my husband has been dumping back there for years and it is not his responsibility. I replied that I expected him to rake his debris like he had for the other areas. I asked him again when he would be out to complete the contract. He said he had no idea, might be tomorrow. Around 3pm, the door bell rings. I run upstairs to answer it and see him in the back of a pick up truck taking off. I go back to see what he had completed and he cut the stump but, did not touch the debris. Upon further inspection, the tire tracks in our front yard indicate that he nearly hit our car with his machinery. We have had trees cut down before and I have no recollection of other services cleaning themselves off in our pool, leaving their cigarette butts behind, trimming trees that were in their way or trashing the yard and the neighbors yard like they did. Hopefully Garth will learn from this and treat others with more respect if they dare choose to use his services. read more

Complete Tree Service?!?! Try INcomplete! Three months ago I paid Garth Uhwat to remove some limbs from a tree damaged in a storm and to cut down some bushes in my yard. He said he would have to pull the stumps out later. So I waited... I told him we were having a fence put in and he needed to come out before that happened, and I waited... A month later the fence was put in and I WAS STILL WAITING! No phone calls, no communication, NOTHING! I called him two months after he cut the bushes and after finally getting him on the phone, he sent out a guy, but he DIDN'T TELL THE GUY THERE WAS A FENCE! So the equipment was too big and he couldn't get to the stumps. Still, no phone call from Garth letting me know what was going to happen next. So I called him and he said he was working on it. Fine. That was two weeks ago. Hadn't heard anything so I called him yesterday. Said he would be out today. Another lie. Since when is it the customer's responsibility to initiate all of the communication? This man is rude, unprofessional, inept, and as of right now, a thief, for taking money for a service that has not been completed. I will be reporting him to the BBB. If I were you, I would stay away from this terrible tree service, unless you have the time to make countless phone calls and wait for something that never happens. read more
