I do not recommend for curly hair. My first time going, and I am very disappointed. I booked a curly cut and nothing they did seemed different than a normal hair cut. She did no consultation with me to ask how I normally do my hair, what I wanted it to look like, or show her pictures on how I wanted it to look. She gave me a blow out instead of diffusing my hair, so she didn't take into consideration my curl pattern when cutting it. Overall, very sad with the outcome and the $165 price tag associated with it. I'm just gonna go home and rewash it so I can have my curls. read more

I really don't like to write bad reviews but unfortunately I had such an upsetting experience trying to go to Antonio's salon. I scheduled an appointment about a month ago for Monique. I was really excited for her to do my hair and her earliest apt was a month away so I waited a month to have her color my hair. Two days before the appointment the salon reached out to me to tell me they had to reschedule my hair apt because they had a new girl make the hair apt and she needed more time and her assistant in order to do my hair for a new time client. I was extremely upset naturally because I had waited an entire month for this apt and when I proposed two to three new times that worked for me, both of those times could not be accommodated. It was an extremely upsetting experience because both Monique and the staff seemed to just be like sorry can we rebook you with someone else? Instead of let's try and make this right and either fit you in somewhere else in the next week or two etc. I didn't feel they really cared and I had to wait a whole month just to be canceled on two days before. Also I put down a $100 deposit. The problem is if I want to get my hair done by anyone else now- most likely I'll have to wait weeks to be seen by anyone else I would choose. Overall just a waste of my time with pretty rude customer service- very disappointing experience. I don't like to leave bad reviews but I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else. I get the feeling they don't really care since they really did nothing to try to make this right. I would definitely avoid the headache of this place. read more

I' absolutely love the salon it's big, clean, they provide just about every service you can think of and my favorite hairstylist of all time is Don. He kills it every time. He's fast, perfectionist, recommends you what suits you best! Also teaches you how to style your own hair n the salon has hair products for purchase. Extremely rude and financially irresponsible receptionists. Charged my CC 2 times when my deposit was supposed to go towards the haircut charge. Anna said it was because I didn't remind them. A subtle and passive blame. Then said to put the charge towards my next haircut. You are supposed to apologize that it was your mistake and move on toward a refund. They are responsible for deposits towards clients haircuts and to keep track of it, not me. I asked another girl for no deposit next appointment, but she said "I guess we can't take you as a client anymore." No compromises or mindset towards a solution. I've been getting my hair done here for years and they don't know how to treat loyal clients. The hairstylists are very talented otherwise, but bratty front desk girls with attitudes. I went in for full head blonde highlights and Moe ended up frying my hair. He makes you as blonde as you want to be but doesn't tell you that in doing so 50% of your hair will be gone. I had been getting highlights for years from other salons and this was the first time I have seen my hair so thin and dry. I didn't realize it until I got home because he styled it to cover it up. When I put my hair in a ponytail a good chunk of my hair came down like bangs... I haven't gotten bangs in over 10 years...my hair had just completely broken off that it looks like bangs. read more

I'm so glad to find such a gifted colorist as Nicole. I could see her passion for hair coloring and she has a nice, bubbly personality to match. I get compliments about my highlights all the time. I first discovered Nicole when she worked at a salon in Millburn so needless to say, I was very sad when I found out that the salon abruptly closed down while I was on vacation. I searched all over for Nicole, calling different salons in the area, and was glad to find her ending up here at Antonio's in Livingston. The salon is spacious and the people who work there are unpretentious which I like. If you're looking for a new colorist, I highly recommend you give Nicole a try. I've been getting laser hair removal treatments with her for a few months now and every time I go I'm greeted with genuine and accommodating employees in all areas of the salon! Her new machine is super quick and makes it very painless for a treatment that normally hurts a lot. I saw a bad review for her laser treatment and was in shock because she is THE BEST. Never had any problems with any of her treatments and she always informs me of things to be aware of after I get lasered. I went to antonios to get rid of the triangle effect my last hair cut had given me- so the stylist gave me the ouidad hair cut- let me just say I have 3b hair and I have no problem with volume. But this hair cut thinned out my hair so much from the midshaft down that I want to go to devachan and chop it all off now. Not only that but the stylist was very shy with product and tried to tell me how to style my hair wen she clearly wasn't doing a good job at it- 1 size does not fit all. I like ouidads gel a lot but I do not recommend the carve and slice technique. I didn't feel they had a true understanding of curls. read more

My sister convinced me to go to this salon as per her co workers recommendation. At first I was skeptical because this place is far from my home in queens and the yelp reviews weren't too good. Regardless, I set aside my reservations and tagged along for the ride. Boy was I glad I did. Amanda was my stylist and did an amazing job cutting my hair into layers and blow drying it. She left me with great volume and I am absolutely obsessed with my new hair cut! She listened to me and consulted me before during and after to make sure I was satisfied. I recommend this salon the customer service was great. I was seen at the time of my appointment which means everything to me. The haircut and blow dry cost me $65. Amazing salon, super welcoming. Everyone there really knows what their doing, what's best for your hair and how to make you leave the salon looking like a celebrity! I went my first time to get very subtle balayage highlights and loved it. Tori is the colorist that did my hair and she was amazing and SUPER sweet. I originally wanted to go more blonde but I told her to do her thing since she knows best and the results were beautiful, better than I wanted! She didn't let my hair get brassy or anything, it's a very soft caramel type of balayage with some very dark blonde streaks here and there. If you want your hair colored I definitely suggest Tori, although I'm sure the others are just as wonderful!! Can't wait to go back to go lighter, it's super addicting once you get it done the first time!! I was a client of Tina's from a prior salon and followed her to Antonio's many, many years ago. Throughout that time, Tina has always done an amazing job on my hair. I have very wavy hair and always blew out my hair and struggled with "bad hair days" on very rainy or humid days. Fortunately, Tina was selected to be a Quidad stylist. So, as my luck would have it, I now have the option to get a Quidad cut in the warmer weather or if I'm traveling to a destination where my hair won't cooperate. Tina taught me how to properly style my hair and I could not be more grateful! I am stopped by people very often telling me they love my hair and ask what Salon I go to. I wasn't paying MORE for another stylist who I don't know (never offered to give me the same rate) or taking a later appointment which I couldn't even do because I had an event. I left a review for this business a few months ago, and I see it has been removed. I received the worst haircut of my life here. The woman who cut my hair made snide and nasty remarks the whole time I was there. She asked me if I cried when I got my haircut before because it "was so bad" and when I told her what I wanted her to do, she kept saying how she thought that was "unattractive". She was so rude that for the first time in my life I didn't even tip. She commented on how surprising it is that I'm so gray and she pulled the little hair that grows in front my of ears and said "where did this come from? have you always had this?".
