Received a letter in the mail stating that I could get a new car with cheaper payments. Drove an hour away to make this happen and the guy told me it was not accurate and not even close to the deal I was expecting. payment was about $200 more than I am paying now. he did not offer to change that by any means. Maybe don't send letters to your customers if they are not any where close to the truth. I don't appreciate my time being wasted like this. read more

Changed my Rating from 5 to 1... they where super nice when selling me the car... now that I have a very small problem... door aliment... they seems to have the worst service department i have experienced... the women hung up on me in the middle of a phone call while asking if my extended warranty covered it or if I could have an estimate on repairs...she was angry I asked about the warranty I guess? Idk I also asked for an estimate to repair it also. Rude I called the manager and asked what I said wrong and if he could get me an estimate... still no call back. Garvey Nissan's Negligence Could Have Killed Us We would never, ever purchase another vehicle from Garvey Nissan. Our SUV has been in for service countless times, and the worst part is dealing with the utterly inept service department. Every time you call, your call just goes to voicemail. There are never any loaner vehicles available and communication is disgustingly horrible. There are so many better dealerships with work with, we would never transact with this third rate dealership again. Although our experiences have been atrocious, I'm now forced to leave a review because Garvey's most recent negligence could have KILLED US. Last week, we brought our (Garvey-purchased) 2021 Nissan SUV into a local tire shop to have snow tires put on. We were informed that the front ball joint was dangerously loose. This was never disclosed during our last service appointment at Garvey. We don't know if the issue didn't exist then, or if it just wasn't checked. Given Garvey's incompetence, we suspect the latter. We immediately called Garvey (straight to voicemail) to get the vehicle in for repair. When they returned our call, we were told to "drive at our own risk" instead of being told to immediately bring the vehicle in and being given a loaner while Garvey waited for parts. We loss use of the vehicle while the vehicle sat in our garage waiting to be fixed. They serviced the vehicle and supposedly made the necessary "repairs." Here's where it gets negligent and dangerous - we were given the vehicle back in a state that was not suitable or safe for driving. We picked up the vehicle and while driving it home, we detected a grinding noise. We took the vehicle out later in the day and not only did the grinding persist, the brakes began failing. We needed to press the brakes very hard for the vehicle to even begin slowing, and even then they were delayed and malfunctioning. After Garvey worked on the vehicle, the brakes were severely and dangerously delayed. The "ABS Malfunction" and "AWD System Failure" lights came on. After we felt that we could get into a terrible accident with the vehicle in its current state, we immediately took it home and contacted Garvey. We noticed the vehicle was leaking a goopy, dark oil from the wheel area all over our garage. Garvey took the vehicle back in, but never disclosed what they did wrong. They said they'd need to "mail" us the service documentation. They refused to apologize for their negligence or make this right in any way. WHY DID GARVEY RELEASE A VEHICLE TO US THAT WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE? Why did Garvey not test drive our vehicle before risking our lives? This demonstrates the Garvey ethos - risk the lives of customers in the name of incompetence and negligence. This is shameful and the fact that our lives were put at risk is unforgivable. This dealership needs to lose its affiliation with Nissan. We don't feel it's safe to purchase/service a vehicle at Garvey Nissan. The employees are inept and the fact that we could have been killed due to their negligence is outrageous. Would you take a risk with Garvey Nissan? read more

Update: We drove off with our new Nissan Rogue and LOVE it! We are so happy and Josh went above and beyond to help us! We give him 10/10! I went in looking to trade in my 2018 Nissan Rogue and had the BEST experience with Josh Eugair, Kody Bagley and their manager! I never once felt pressured and I felt like I was able to make an informed decision that was best for me. I test drove two beautiful cars with Josh and he made sure to go over every single feature. Josh helped me pick out the a 2021 Nissan Rogue which I may have by Monday! Yay! The manager even sweetened the deal by giving me Nissan chocolate bars. Absolutely terribly run business, I would suggest avoiding at all costs. I dropped my brand new 2022 Infiniti off at Garvey Nissan in perfect condition for an oil change and it was returned to me with a huge chip in the windshield and sulfur residue all over the paint on the rear. I kindly expressed my concerns to the service manager, George, who said he would return my call and he never did. This was handled extremely unprofessionally by said manager George and service advisor Lisa, who never returned my call after leaving a voicemail. Originally a local to Rutland, Vermont; I now live out of state and had to immediately leave to get back to work and Garvey Nissan has caused a large amount of worry and inconvenience for me on my travels. I asked if they could pull the surveillance of me pulling into the dealer and leaving to show that I did not have a crack pulling in and did leaving and George told me maybe. I asked for a follow up and George said he could maybe call me back tomorrow. At the end of the call he said he sees this is my first time at the dealer. Which it is not, but either way, it shouldn't matter and all clients should be taken care of and respected. I understand that this is my word against theirs, either way this is terrible customer service and Garvey does not care about their clients. Avoid this business and go to Valvoline. Garvey Nissan is poorly ran and lacks professionalism on all levels. You cannot trust them to take care of you or your vehicle. Sad to see this business go downhill similar to the rest of the Rutland community recently! We had issues with this company back in 2017 as well. read more

Not too many new Frontiers available in Vermont. Nate, at Garvey, went beyond helpful to find the exact model I was looking for. I have little patience for the purchase process but Nate, and others, made the entire experience quick and painless. I bought a new 2020 leaf from Garvey Nissan and when I took it to my first inspection I was told the tires didn't pass inspection so they sold me a car with crappy tires the car was dangerous tires they explained to me that these set of tires came from the manufacturer and that I needed to pay over $700 to replace them before they let me pass inspection on this brand new vehicle I know just because I'm a woman they took it vantage of me and this was a nasty crappy way to treat Women very very disappointed be very careful when dealing with Garvey Nissan you will get cheated especially if you're a woman warning do not buy a car from these people, I wish I had not. Garvey Nissan cheated me the tire should've been Brand New and should have lasted for years. TLDR: Between service, Sales and the General Manager noone knows up from down and a part they replaced a year ago that went bad but only has a 90 day warranty besides me paying for a extended warranty with the car. I bought a vehicle from Garvey Nissan in May of 2022 with a great experience. In August of 2022 my flex pipe went bad and they replaced it for me. I contacted them yesterday, August 14th 2022 about the flex pipe going bad again to see what they could do for me and the (unknown) associate in the service department stated that I had a 12 month/12k mile warranty on the part and the warranty would expire today August 15th. The (unknown) Service department associate stated that I would have to make it in by today, August 15th because that was the last day of the warranty. He also stated that the service department would have to look at the part to verify that it was the actual part that they replaced and then set me up for another date and time to service my vehicle. I stated, that I wouldn't be able to make it in till this Friday August 18th because I work and live a hour and a half away a few times. The service department associate transferred me to Shannon the General Manager to see if they would honor the warranty because I wouldn't be able to make it to the dealership in the 24 hour notice that I was given. Shannon stated that she would find out from the service department if they could help me with the replacement of the part and that she would call me back or have the service department contact me and noone did. I just contacted the dealership today at 4pm and spoke with Shannon and she asked me to refresh her memory because she was not sure what I was talking about from a day before. Shannon said she would have the service department contact me today. George from the service department contacted me and asked me if I got his voice-mail from yesterday and I said no because I did not get a miss call or a voice-mail from you or the dealership. Then George stated that the flex pipe was not covered under my extended warranty or covered under the 12 month / 12k mile warranty and that I was misinformed yesterday and that the part had only a 90 day warranty. I asked him sooooo..the dealership is not gonna do anything for me and he said unfortunately no but said they would do the work for me pretty much on my dime. I said, no thank you and stated I would go elsewhere and it would make no sense for me to drive a hour and a half to pay your crooked dealership to repair my car when I can go somewhere locally. I posted a negative review about a bad experience and Shannon, the owners daughter never reached out to me to discuss but instead blackballed me in secret and put a note in my file not allowing anyone to schedule service for me until she approved. No one there told me this--I called over four times in one week as I had a loose wheel bearing--which was fixed by BENNINGTON nissan within one time of calling. I had to cancel my extended warranty with Garvey and the company said what Shannon did was illegal. BUT she finally called me back after 7 plus days and over 4 phone calls to admit that she did this based on my negative review here. It seemed that if I was willing to remove my review she would in turn provide the service I had already paid for. This is a terrible dealership run by an unethical and powertripping "nepo baby." The reviews on social media are coerced and controlled by Garvey, I wouldn't believe anything positive posted there. read more

I would have left a zero-star score. Garvey left the cap off of my car when they changed my oil and four days later when I realize what it happened they asked me if I would drive it over to them for service. I told them that it needed to be towed because I was working. They "tested" the engine, told me that everything was fine and then were hesitant to put on the service invoice what had happened. Everything in their invoice began with the phrase "customer states." About three weeks later the car was running rough and acting different. It inexplicably didn't start one day. I contacted Garvey and asked them to buy it off me since they were 100% sure everything was fine with the engine and I would look for a vehicle I had more faith in. They told me again things were fine and "the engine was tested out" and then when I asked to speak to the owner, a salesperson person I have been corresponding with never returned my email. Dishonest customer service, don't purchase from them, don't do business with this dealership, don't even have your car serviced here. read more

We decided to head to Nissan first just on a whim, because it was farthest from our house. As soon as we walked in, we were warmly greeted by Kody. This was hands down the best experience I have ever had at a car dealership. Kody was SO helpful, and kind. He answered all of our questions with ease, and was a true joy to work with. One would think if you had a GM who no longer works for you because he failed to properly handle consumer issues such as mine.......I would have been treated with more respect! Initially had a easy experience dealership was easy to work with and were flexible with the purchase date for tax purposes. After opting for their skeezy "rust protection" and paying an extra $1000 I was still pretty happy, then after getting my car I looked underneath to check the undercoating, to my dismay I found 0 wax. Texted my salesperson and they assured me the work had been done, so I asked for a work receipt and "oh a mistake has been made". Then they asked me to take it back in for the work (mind you the dealership is not close to my house). So I just ask for a refund from my sales person and they straight up lie saying "the deal has already been processed by the bank and a refund cannot be issued" treating me like some idiot who doesnt understand basic finance. So i ask to speak to a manager about refund options and magically the sales person can refund me through a check they claim they will tell me when its sent. Has been 2 weeks since that text and have not heard from the dealership or salesperson about the check and have not received it. Extremely angry after bringing me through all these loops and lying to me on the way. Take your business elsewhere if you can, not all of them are bad apples but a skeezy experience for me, and not a pleasant one for my first car. read more

My daughter bought a car from Garvey thankfully with an extended warranty because from the very first month it was in the shop regularly with problems. A little over a month ago the engine blew because it was losing oil but none of the lights came in to indicate so. They had it for a few weeks before offering her a "trade". First they said trade at no extra cost to her. Then upon requesting the car fact we found they were dishonest about the car they were pushing her to trade for. They gave her other options that would cost her more $. I finally stepped in and said enough is enough. They sold her a shit car, they haven't made it right, they need to make it right without ore money coming from her pocket. They then took the trade option away. We are in the process of reporting to the attorney general, and the Better business bureau. If I could give negative stars, I would! Save yourself the hassle, go buy elsewhere! I went here to test drive a new Altima, I told the agent I had a Learner's Permit. He informed me I was not allowed to test drive one on a Learner's Permit, so I asked if he could drive to let me experience a drive in one; he informed me he was not 25 and could not; then I asked if another loder agent could. He asked his supervisor and then all the other agents were busy with other customers which seemed true. Then I told him about having to walk from the nearest bus stop (1.9 miles away) and told him I would wait. He told his supervisor who came over and told me they could not because I only had a Learner's Permit. This was a lie!!! So I walked all the way back to the bus stop. 3.8 miles in all for nothing because they were too lazy to show me the car!!!! read more
