I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction and grave concern regarding the recent "THE WORKS" service performed on my vehicle on [Insert Date of Service]. This experience has not only left me feeling misled but, more importantly, put my safety and the safety of others at severe risk. I paid $101.83 for "THE WORKS" which explicitly includes an oil change and a tire rotation. The inspection report I received after leaving your facility revealed two critical failures: Undisclosed Safety Hazard (Nail in Tire): Your multi-point inspection identified a "Foreign Object" (NAIL) in my front passenger tire, necessitating a "PATCH TIRE." This critical safety issue was listed under "Declined" services at $69.95, but was never communicated to me before I drove my 6,000-pound vehicle off your lot. This is an egregious oversight that directly endangered me and anyone else on the road. It is a fundamental responsibility of a service center to immediately inform a customer of a known safety defect, especially one as serious as a foreign object in a tire. My subsequent drive, unknowingly with this hazard, was a direct result of your failure to disclose this vital information in a timely manner. Failure to Perform Paid Tire Rotation: The "THE WORKS" package clearly states "Tire Rotation" is included. Your report indicates this service was not performed because "DIRECTIONAL TIRE FACING WRONG DIRECTION," which would require a "MOUNT AND RE BALANCE TIRE" at an additional $195.00, also listed as "Declined." This is unacceptable for two reasons: Prior Service Error: My tires were previously rotated by Ford through a "WORKS" service just five months ago. If they are now facing the wrong direction, this indicates an error during that prior Ford service that you are now attempting to charge me to correct, or using as an excuse not to perform a service I've already paid for. Unperformed Service: Regardless of the reason, I paid for a tire rotation that was not delivered. You cannot decline a service I've already paid for based on an issue that may stem from a previous service or without my prior knowledge and consent. Furthermore, the inspection report is riddled with numerous other "Critical" items listed as "Declined" (e.g., drive belts, front and rear differential service, transmission fluid exchange), many of which I had major services performed on less than five months ago. This raises serious questions about the accuracy and integrity of your inspection process and reporting. I am utterly dissatisfied with the safety lapse and the failure to provide the paid-for service. I require immediate action to rectify these issues, including: The immediate and proper repair of the tire (patching the nail). The proper completion of the paid tire rotation, correcting any previous errors at no additional charge to me. A thorough explanation for why a critical safety issue was not immediately disclosed. A review of the inaccurate "declined" services on my report, particularly those for recently serviced components. read more

In short, Gary Smith Ford did approximately $1000 damage to my car's paint ( per several body shops), thoroughly disrespected me when I tried to negotiate for compensation, and gave me $600.00 to get me to leave the dealership. Maybe you will have better luck, should you decide to use them. Details below. I took my car in for an oil change. The technician swung my door into another car in the parking lot, chipping and scratching my paint. I watched this happen. Not sure if the other persons car was damaged or if they were even notified. He admitted he damaged the car and took it over to determine repairs. They eventually offered to fix it, but they would have to paint the entire door and blend to the adjoining panels; and it still might not be perfect. I decided not to risk further damage or a botched paint job. So I asked for compensation for the damage instead. Here is where things went bad. The tech called and initially told me it would cost them $600 to paint the car. I knew this was low because I had already called another local Ford dealer and other body shops to get an idea of the repair cost, but I didn't really care. However, the tech called me back after talking to Frank, their service manager, saying they would only pay $250 for the damage. At that point, I decided to go to the dealer to discuss in person. I went to Franks office and tried to explain the situation and why I didn't want to paint the car. I could not explain because he repeatedly cut me of and made rude comments. It got so bad, I told him I would wait until he was finished talking so he could calm down. He even said quote " I had a car better than yours" when I tried to explain the sentimental value of my car. After arguing with him for 20 minutes, I eventually asked him what a fair cost for the damages was. He said $600.00. I told him that was unacceptable after they tried to cheat me, and were so disrespectful. He then told me to get out of his office. I told them I would take them to court and report their behavior, then I left the office. After that ridiculous situation, I asked to speak to the manager of the dealership. At this point, I did not care about the money but I wanted to report Frank. The technician explained the paint issue and the manager seemed accommodating at first. But he kept pressuring me to paint the car. I explained to him why I did not want to, and that my issue was primarily with the poor service from Frank. Instead of apologizing, he made excuses saying Frank was old and he dealt with upset customers constantly, as if that justified being absurdly rude. He did say he would talk to Frank, but he also said he "could see why Frank was like that", implying I was the reason Frank insulted my car and kicked me out of his office. He then went on to say I was being "combative" because I called him and Frank out for being unprofessional. Keep in mind, I did not yell or insult them at any point. I just tried to explain why I didn't want to paint, that I just wanted fair compensation for my cars damage and to be respected. He then ordered the technician to "cut him a check for $600.00" then dismissed me from the office. I apologized for the situation, even though I maintained dignity and professionalism and they didn't. The manager tried to be polite at that point, for whatever reason. Never before have I been in a customer service situation where I was the only one maintaining composure and professionalism. If they act like this when caught clearly in the wrong, how can you trust them with your car behind closed doors? If you made it this far, congratulations. I'm writing to formally express my frustration and disappointment with the experience I had at your dealership. I arrived clearly stating what I was looking for, including all my requirements for purchasing a $100,000 vehicle. I was assured there would be no problem. Unfortunately, that assurance could not have been further from the truth. Instead of transparency, I was met with deceptive tactics. I was presented with a "4-square" offer that had nothing to do with what I had communicated. I should have walked out then, but I stayed -- giving your team the benefit of the doubt. After five hours of wasted time, I still had nothing solid to work with. Only as I was leaving did the salesperson claim "all the numbers just came in." By then, the trust was gone, and I had no intention of purchasing the vehicle. On top of that, my friend was looking at purchasing a truck from your dealership as well. He was told by the salesperson that the dealership only had $1,500 over what they paid for it at auction. Yet when we saw the numbers, it was clear that wasn't the case. This kind of dishonesty is unacceptable. It's difficult to understand how this level of misrepresentation is allowed under your leadership--or how little accountability there seems to be. I recently took my F-150 to this service department for a recall for an EGR. Less than a hundred miles later my truck overheated. After looking into the process for the EGR replacement it turns out that losing coolant is sometimes a necessary side effect of the process. When I called the service department they denied doing anything with coolant. After putting more coolant in I took it to another shop that I already had an appointment with in order to have all the lubricants changed. While there, I mentioned the recall EGR and the problem with the coolant. The gentleman immediately said the dealership did something. Sure enough, while he was in there he said it was a simple fix and reconnected the line that was leaking the fluid and because he knew the service department manager at Gary Smith he would let her know. I never received a call from the service department saying they were sorry or even an email. read more

I have had my Mercury their service department several times recently. They have been exceptionally good. They fixed several recalls I did not even mention. They fixed everything I had a problem with. They bring you car out to you. They explain things done and they have been very fast at getting the car back. Very good service. read more

Amanda, in service, is the best service writer I've ever dealt with regardless of type of business. She knows what customer service is and demonstrates it. Brought my F150 on for service that another dealer had misdiagnosed. They changed the part the other dealer had fixed thinking it was bad. As it turns out, there is something else wrong besides that part. Unfortunately I'm going to have to go back to the original dealer to have it re diagnosed, since I've already paid them $1000. Through both times my truck was in the shop at Gary Smith Ford, Amanda kept me informed about what was going on in the shop and approximate wait time. Amanda told me they could re diagnose the problem and fix it, but would have to charge me, which I understand and which explains why I'm having to go back to the original dealer, otherwise I would be paying twice. read more

I purchased a used vehicle from here which had issues within the first 12 hours. Took it back to their shop, they had it two days, got in the car to go home and a couple miles down the road it just shut off. After getting the run around for two weeks, I called and found the car. It was at a local mechanic who had run the diagnostic and told Ford's rep the engine was blown. The dealership knew this for two weeks and didn't relay it to us. I am in the market for a new car. I want an expedition and trade in my explorer. I make an appointment as they ask to discuss prices and builds. They do tell me their current prices are 10-12 thousand over MSRP. I understand with the market today but I still don't know what cost of suv is. They test drive my car. We talk about the expedition and walk around it. We go and sit down and I am asked to sign a paper that says I will buy a car that day. I say no I'm not signing that. I am told they won't discuss with me what the cost of the car is or what my car is worth to them unless I sign the paper saying I'll Buy the car. I don't know how they expect me to say I'll buy a car if I have no idea what the car is going to cost me. It's no way a legally binding document but it's the point that they will sit there and scare me into "buying" a car because I signed a document that says "I will buy a car today". I was told make another appointment she. I am willing to buy a car that day. WOULD NOT TALK TO ME ABOUT A CAR PRICE PERIOD. I bought a part from them for my 2017 Ford F-350. They sent the wrong part. I called them and emailed them three times before they finally responded three weeks after the original call. I engaged with them through PayPal to return the item. After I shipped it back to them they refused at first to post the refund for the $115 part because it was past the 30-day return policy. Seems odd that they would lose their good name over $115 part and hold me accountable to a 30-day return policy when they don't hold themselves accountable to return customer communications in an semblance of a reasonable time. Turns out that despite the email, they DID refund me for the price of the part, but not for the return shipping, which is unfortunate, because they are the ones that shipped me a part that didn't fit my truck. read more

10K markup for every F-150, 5K markup for every Ranger and a 25K markup for each of the two GT500s. They repeatedly tried to sale me a vehicle I didn't want because manual transmissions are "rare" in Mustangs and refused not to mark up a vehicle that i would have had built for me. My service appointment started an hour after it was supposed to and they didn't accomplish everything that was asked for, unless it's physically possible to single-handedly rotate all four tires, complete the oil change and the 10K mile inspection in roughly 13 minutes. They won't touch the burning clutch because it's intermittent stating that it's Ford's policy. I asked the parts department about a spare tire kit and had to give them the part number. They stated that I'd have to pay freight shipping which they couldn't tell me how much it would be until I purchased the tire. Shopping for a used car. Gary Smith Ford is the most run-down looking PreOwned Car dealership in the county, among the national brands. Looks like it hasn't been renovated in 30-40 years. Not a big deal, just cosmetic. Found a car I liked, told them I was interested and had a pre-approved loan with USAA, and that I wanted to look around first, but might be back. They said fine. Came back in 2 days to buy it. About 30-45 minutes into the bargaining saga, they tell me they don't accept USAA car loan checks, and that I need to start over or go through their lenders. Funny they didn't mention it 2 days earlier. Then we negotiated what they called an "out the door" price -- their term. It was reasonable per Kelly Blue Book. Then 30-45 minutes later we get down to signing paperwork, and the finance guy is trying to rush me through the paperwork, wondering why I want to stop to read what I'm signing. 5 minutes before finishing all 5 forms, I notice they've added 7% on to the "out the door" price. I refused to pay their sneaky add in, and they refused to sell the car for what they had originally promised. They went all into why they can't sell it for less, but basically the salesman lied. Wasted hours of my time and my family's, arranging to meet me at the dealer to drive away the car. I've since heard lots of bad things about their service department as well from friends who have bought cars through them. Yeah, I will never set foot on their doorstep again! I took my car in early (7:55) for my 1045 appointment because I had wrrands to run. However I did not get a call that my car was done until 4:57pm saying it was done. I showed up to get my car at 630pm and were told that the service department closed at 530, and doesnt open at all on the weekends. I was without my car for an entire weekend because no one informed me that I needed to hurry up and come get my car. When I got there to get the car I requested to speak with the service manager come to find out the guy that was handling my car was the service manager. I informed him of everything that went on and how I really didnt appreciate his lack of customer service.
