Since the parts had to be ordered,there was a wait but with COVID etcetera not too long a wait. I live in Big Rapids so would need to drive to Reed City to collect my car. They called and left a message that the car was ready. I called back and they confirmed the car was ready. When I walked in I was informed that during the repair the broke another part and had to replace the part. When I went to pay at the check out, I had to wait several minutes?for them to locate my paperwork. The bill had jumped approximately 200.00. At no time prior to being told the total was I informed that I would need to pay more than the initial quote. After paying I looked at the bill to determine what was the increase. I was charged for both the part and the labor to replace the part they broke. I can understand to some extend paying for part (although I have been advised that typically I would not pay for their damaging a part). Hoever, I really think it was crossing a line to charge for the labor to repair a part they broke. Won't take my car there again.

I hadn't gotten the extra insurance, so I was in a bind. I checked Yelp, saw A1 Auto Glass was along my route, and called them. Steve answered right away, heard what happened, and said he could take care of it. I let him know where I was on the highway, and he figured I'd be there by 4:30. I pulled in right on time, and he got started. The crack was about quarter-sized, but he fixed it so well it was barely noticeable. It looked good enough that I decided to try returning the car without mentioning it. They didn't spot anything, and the handoff went smoothly.
