I have been a local to this bar since I was 21. I even moved away for six years and I was still treated with respect and like a friend when I returned. You can order food from joeys upstairs and it's all reasonably priced and pretty good as well. There are four pool tables and air hockey Nd a loop around bar. Three of the bar tenders have been there for over a decade and are nonsense people. This bar is a great place to hang out and enjoy your free time if you like a beer or a call drink and chill vibes. It attracts a mixed crowed if younger and older folk. People don't get over served, there are almost never any fights, and they do not let people in when they seem to intoxicated. read more

I was happy to find this cute little dive bar in Santa Rosa. I just moved to the area so I am slowly finding new places. There are three pool tables ($1 in quarters to play), an outside patio area, and several TVs (all were playing sports on the night I visited). The decor is mostly dark wood with crystal light fixtures throughout. Their selection of liquor is extensive. The bartenders all had great personalities. Trish and Drew were CHARACTERS! This is my favorite casual bar to play pool....and also my favorite little late night pizza stop. They sell slices of pizza out front for only $3-5 and the pizza is absolutely delicious! They also have hockey table which is my personal favorite as well as a music box which my friends and I go crazy for!!! The patio is extremely spacious and pretty clean for a popular bar that has constant amounts of people coming in and out with little time for heavy maintenance. The bartenders are super friendly and they always know how to tackle multiple customers in a very quick and timely manner. My girls and I have been there the past couple years for their christmas eve nights which are poppin! I love this bar and cant wait to go back soon with my best friend for some pool!! read more

If this review was based solely on the food/drinks and customer service it would definitely be 5 stars. However, I had to take into account how divey and dirty this place is to give a full review. So I came last night with some friends and had some amazing pesto cheese sticks. Get these, they are bomb! And I have to say every person I interacted with was so kind and welcoming. But, this place is in pretty bad shape. It really needs some TLC to bring it back to life. Every time I go here the toilets are falling apart and the floor is flooded with water, as was the case last night. The outside area is also in need of some new furniture or at least a deep clean. I can say with confidence that I will be returning, but I sure do hope they can give it this place the proper love and care it deserves. read more

3.5, been here a few times drinking with a friend. The drinks are decently cheap, and the service behind the bar is friendly. The atmosphere is kinda divey but really if you walk in and see the place, it's just how it is. There's a pool table if you need it and the place gets food from Joey's Original Pizza. We snagged some appetizers, but unless you're going to design a pizza there aren't any real good vegetarian options. There's a TV if you want to catch some sports also, though what's showing might be limited since that's the only one. You can also play pool, coin operated machine with pool cues along one of the side walls. Music wasn't too loud and neither were the people. Decent place to just hang out with some friends if you so choose. Granted, wasn't the cleanest place you could end up in. But it's a dive. The reason why this place gave my friend and I such a bad experience was the bouncer. He had this attitude from the beginning that totally set a bad vibe from the moment we entered the bar and the moment we left. When you go to this bar, you could see a couple of pool tables and the bar area. Fortunately, we found some empty stools to sit. It took a little bit for the bartender to get to us even though there wasn't a lot of patrons. I got a Corona and decided to leave right after finishing it. This was definitely not my scene... The first thing you notice about this place is that they have too much security doing too much and it's a major red flag. It's cramped with low ceilings and smelly because it's crowded with young people, most of which are not very interesting. Because they have 5 pool tables that's the draw but it's not a good place to play because it's too crowded and no one respects the game and there's no protocol for rules or order. There is a bartender named Trish that if you see run. I use to be a regular at the bel but ever since this bartender has worked here I have stopped going. Have had many bad encounters with her. She believes that she can say whatever she wants because she is behind the counter. Not only is her attitude one of the worst I've seen in customer service, she has the audacity to say things like "retard" and "I thought you would ask like a normal person". I just don't see this place as a dive bar - not classified correctly in my opinion. Later evenings it's college crowd - not the idiot zone like some college bars, but decent young people not fighting or causing trouble. And earlier I've seen more 30s, 40s, and 50 something's - casual and trendy is what call it. There's plenty of parking, they have food upstairs and will come down, take your order and serve you. Reasonably decent bar area, pool tables, and comfortable outside seating. Plus it's in the bottom of a beautiful old Victorian building. There are plenty of TV's to watch different sports, a cool handicap friendly circle bar - it's great because the bartender's floor is below your side - so I get to sit in a comfortable chair instead of an uncomfortable stool. The bartenders are all cool that I've come across. The girls are cute, smart, and make good cocktails and Kevin is one of the best in the area. My only gripe is there is no draught beer - I DON'T DRINK BEER OFTEN BUT WHEN I DO - I WANT IT COLD AND ON DRAUGHT. read more

I come here every year for Halloween and get drinks and a few appetizers and sometimes a pizza. Their pizza is humongous, it's served East Coast style so its very thin and a stark contrast to what you would order at any other Pizzeria locally. I ordered their onion rings and mozzarella sticks. After having a few drinks the food cane and it was piping hot! The onion rings were over cooked so not my favorite, and their mozzarella sticks were to die for. I couldn't stop eating them, my biggest complaint was the slightly burnt onions rings and their cold marinara sauce. Marinara sauce is normally served warm with mozzarella sticks. Their pizza is delicious, very fattening but very tasty, it may not be to everyone's liking but their combination was tasty. I love their ranch, it's clearly house made and tastes delicious, I love how you can order food while sitting in the bar. The service is prompt, staff is very friendly and am more than happy to adhere to any request including extra sauce or extra napkins. They have me as a fan! read more

I visited the Belv for the first time in a couple years. Wow, how things changed. I was visiting my friend and decided to go out in Santa Rosa, she told me her and her friend were assaulted by one of the bouncers and I said hm no way. They have been in contact with a lawyer and will be serving them this week! Back to my point, I walked in and it's just a bunch of losers! Not talking about the costumers, I'm talking about the staff! They were so rude and had no education it seemed like! Bar tender lady made my drink wrong and charged me a high price. A high price drink for a wrong drink? A bar filled with loser staff? This place is terrible. I'm hoping they get shut down, new staff and new location? Let's make it happen people. 'The Bel' is for sure my fav bar in Santa Rosa, it's just such a fun and unique scene-in all the best ways. You walk in to a kind of interesting spot which looks like a total basement made into a huge bachelor pad. Any day of the week there's a total range of characters, plus everything one could want in a bar: friendly staff, good bartenders that know how to make a solid cocktail, Jell-O shots, air hockey, pool tables, an outside spiking section, inside with funny photos, and good food from Joey's Pizza's staff walking around. If I could give zero stars I would. One of the bartenders (she was seemingly older, brown hair and glasses) there tried to fight me. Generally they check ID in the front, they had done it in a different spot on 12/25. They were more inside that night, and I walked by and she started screaming at me. I had zero intention to put up a fight with anyone because I happily showed my ID. She ripped off all her bags after her childish tantrum and proceeded to try and fight. The security guard working at the time seemed so embarrassed by her. He let me in too, and came over to me and apologized for her behaviors. To have someone who gets so drunk WHILE WORKING? This behavior is putrid and puts off local business. I told the other bouncers and The Dirty Bird and from the sound of it, this is someone who is truly problematic. This place has great beers and is divey-ish without not being so much so. I love how eclectic it is as far as the crowd and the decor itself is strangely charming. Though, I don't remember the air hockey table in back or the outside patio being that popular - but again, it was a long time ago. Everything seemed just as I remembered it. My friends and I came in here awhile back. I bought beer and dropped $20 on the jukebox. My friends and I were playing pool and suddenly the security guard/bouncer comes up and asks us to leave. We weren't being disruptive at all, although I do have a loud helicopter laugh. We may have been talking and having fun but nothing that would warrant getting thrown out like that. The female bartender with the attitude... most likely mentioned in the other negative reviews lately because she always has an attitude... decided to write herself a $10 tip even after I tipped her in cash. My bad for not crossing out the tip area... I have too much faith in the world. Thankfully I bank with a credit union who will get my money back. I wasnt going to write a review but after reading others complaining of the same person I felt it necessary. This was always a great place to hang out. Not so much with the current vibe. I've been coming to Gary's for 16 years now and never experienced such rudeness from bartenders. They are usually friendly peeps. I elaborated that it was sort of like an ugly sweater but summer version with cut off sleeves... which I admitted after she got upsets to was a terrible compliment... I apologized and told her that I it was not well thought out and she continued to act like I had personally insulted her and refused to service me and shamed me in front of customers the rest of the night calling me "sports boy" for wearing a warriors jersey.
