Forestville Club is a special place to connect with locals and people from all over west county. It's family owned and ran. They just recently added Don Julio Reposado to their tequila selection, which makes it top tier for me. Nevertheless they are stocked with lots of choices and beers on tap. I absolutely love love love the bartenders here. It's clean, lots of parking and they frequently have live music. Next event is on 1/17! They even have pool tournaments here, which is pretty cool. Fun location, but it ends there. The lady bartending that noght was very rude all night long. I was there as part of the main music entertainment. While the stage was pretty good, the staff was not helpful with music setup. You'd think it was their first time doing it. But this place has been around for decades, has great history and surely has hosted litterally 1,000+ bands over the decades. There was no need to be rude, unhelpful or disrespectful to the band bringing in a good drink-buying crowd. Very disappointed And of course no 2 drink per diam as part of the pay and respect for doing what musicians do. Thank god our fans were having fun and buying the band drinks. Sad sad sad. One of the most disappointing gigs I've ever had. It didn't have to be that way. And the band really wasn't asking a lot from the club. They werent even paying for the entertainment that night it was free to the club because a friend of the band was putting on a birthday party and paying the band. Kind of a hike to Forestville for most of the county but if there's a band you like playing this place is tough to beat. Great sound system and large dance floor. Everyone seems so surprised when they fall in love with this joint. As a native Forestville kid, I grew up with an ugly windowless brown building kitty corner to Carr's Drive-in. It always looked kinda sketchy to me. After turning 21 I absolutely had to see what was inside, and by that time I think the inviting mural of the surrounding hills and forest had been painted on the front of the establishment. Kinda dark inside and can seem huge when there's only a few people in there. But Wayne will take good care of you and he makes a mean vodka tonic. Couple pool tables in the back as well. read more

Great local bar, especially on weekends. Local bands, and a few National Acts play there for pennies compared to elsewhere. I have never paid over $10 to get in, and it is usually $3 to $5, and only if there is entertainment. Heck, they usually stop charging folks after the first few hours. I like going there because there are several areas to hang out, including a large pool table room. You can slink into a dark corner table with your date for privacy, sit in the middle, or at the bar, or hit their big wooden dance floor, or just hang out in the pool table room. They have a full bar, and decently priced drinks. The bar tenders have all worked there forever, and thats nice, because they know how to make good drinks, and how to keep things "going". Deb is usually there on the weekends, and she rocks behind that bar! She is pretty to look at, nice, and can be tough. If you are rude, she will still serve you, but will not take any crap from anyone, saving her smiles for polite folks. The jukebox is modern, which is nice between band sets, or when there is no band. The sound varies, as each band is in charge of their own. If you see a band here and it sounds awful, it is not the clubs fault! I like the way they let the bands run their own shows. When my favorite bands play here, the crowd consists of mostly the bands fans and friends. If you want your band to play here, you will need to bring people. Local regulars are few, although they will join the fun when they like the band. The only time its sad here is when a touring band plays and expects the bar to fill up with locals. read more

If you're a fan of dive bars and are looking for the Holy Grail, Forestville Club might be your spot. Set in a sleepy town in the Russian River Valley (Forestville), this gem has been around for as long as any local can remember. I'm not a local to this area but, asked a few of the patrons when I was there this past weekend and it's basically their only option in town. Once you enter this relic, you immediately feel like you're transported back forty years, let's call it mid 70's. The panel siding on the walls, the old Budweiser signs, and antiquated carpet all help contribute to this feeling of nostalgia. There's a big stage to your right which features live music on the weekends (which we just missed). But, if I had to guess would seem like more of a practice studio because there are so few people in this little town. The pool tables in the back were busy and filled with smoke. Yes, I'm pretty sure you can still burn one down in there. The bartender was super sweet. A townie for sure. She poured us a couple 7 and 7's and went about her business. $4 bucks for a drink? Yes please! Amidst the darkly lit bar I saw a jukebox in the corner just waiting to get played. Guess what kids? It was 80's hair metal hour with yours truly! Iron Maiden, Poison, Motley Crue, Winger...you name it. I filled this machine with some of the greatest power ballads the world has ever seen. What did I do next you ask? Proceeded to head to the stage and practice my "power kicks" made famous by none other than David Lee Roth, or "Diamond Dave". In most establishments I would have been asked to stop but, noooooo, not at Forestville Club. In fact, they embraced it and that sweet bartender told me I had a nice voice. Wouldn't ya know :) Moral of the story. Spend a quaint evening in wine country and head to Forestville Club if you want to cut loose and not have any judgement. Not a pretty scene... creepy, it's like watching COPS. I can't stand that show. Classic hole in the wall in a small town... but I hear the grateful dead guys used to jam here because they lived in the area! They have 3 great tables and only .75 cents. Every Wednesday night at 8:30 p.m. there is a "POOL TOURNAMENT". Come check it out, it's only $10 for dudes and $5 for ladies. The bartender is GREAT and she pours a mean drink .She will even look you in the eye and say "Thank You"(and she means it) with a smile on here face.. :) OH, and every other Thurs night is OPEN MIKE(mark) night with Tony (also a Pat's of Guernville bartender) pouring a mean drink. Weekend nights are left for "LIVE" music and a great crowd to boot. I'm a west county resident and this place sucks. I've only been once and will never return. The volunteer club I belong to held our annual party there. The bartender was incredibly rude. We were charged a different price for every (same) drink we ordered and it wasn't happy hour. There was a cracked-out woman full-on grooming herself in the restroom as if it was her bathroom at home. The bartender stiffed my friend on his change...for a hundred dollar bill. He bought a Grey Goose, she gave him $3 change. Refused to believe he gave her a $100 and not a $10. She wouldn't even look him in the eye and when he tried to argue with her she walked away without even acknowledging him. He nearly called the cops. Then she has the audacity to go over to the Mexican buffet we had brought in and made herself two big plates. We told her that it would be $15 per person eating (the price we all chipped in for the food) and she cussed us out. The party was such a shit show that we bailed and went somewhere else. I've never been so disrespectfully treated in any kind of establishment. I'll never go back. read more

This place needs major cleaning or updating. Very dark and dank in there. Bartender Deb needs to learn manners and not change price on drinks as she is drinking as well! She also needs to learn how to make normal mixed drinks not just beer or jack n coke type. Not a place for live music with lights since will blow the breakers over and over. This place is old very dark and devoid of young tanda but that's ok if you simply want somewhere to have a good tasting mixed drink. Kind of loud but what bar isn't? I was at the club years ago. The drinks were larger and reasonably priced. I went for midget mania on oct 22 2016. The drinks were made in small low ball glass full of ice and they were weak. The bartender who said she was bar manager was talking a lot and not always attending to those Of us who wanted drinks. The bartenders were also drinking. There is no food there other than chips. Not even bowls of nuts or pretzels. I had several drinks but switched to diet sofa so I could wind down and drive. She charged me $2 for a low ball glass of Soda and the glass was full of ice. The syrup was weak in the soda. I told her I wanted to drink soda because I would be driving and she refused to give me a larger glass she said she would only charge me $1. I was there with one friend. We spent $50 on the tickets for the wrestling and over $100 in drinks. You'd think I could get good service and a full glass of soda. Been to many dive bars through out California and this is near the bottom if the list. Rude bartender and poorly made drinks. We ditched the bar after we became tired of the bartenders babbling on the phone. My guess is the were chemicals at work. We played a game of pool. There were some decent cue sticks and the tables seemed to be in good condition. After about ten minutes, I hear "He's fallen done ar the end of the bar." Sounded like someone needed help so I went back to the bar and there was a "regular" sprawled on the floor. There were three of us trying to pick up Mr Soused but he really didn't want to have any part or it. I suggested they pull over the desk chair and we could plop home down on a wheeled conveyance. The guy had a room and a bed at the bar. I lifted him into the chair and went back to playing pool. As we left we noticed someone else escorting our drake new friend to his room in the back of the bar. Can not recommend this establishment in any way. read more

There are some places that look sort of divey but are really not. The Forestville Club isnt' one of these - it looks like a dive and actually is a dive. It steadfastly resists the West County push toward trendy wine touri$$$$m. It's dark, smelly and reminds me of an X song "honest to goodness the bars weren't open this morning, they musta been voting for the president or something", actually two X songs the other is "The Have Nots" which is just a list of LA bars. They have cheap beer, it's a craft beer free zone, and wine too, from a box. The potato chips are excellent, only a couple of years past expiration. It's big and very retro, carpets and paneling. They might have a pool table but it was too dark to tell. In a few years they can apply for status as a historical site. If in Forestville a visit to the Fville Club is mandatory. The bartender does his job and one plus is that even in the morning there is already cast of characters parked at the bar. Eric Lindell plays there pretty often, check out a show. One more thing, I met my wife in a bar like this, the Melody in New Brunswick, NJ. read more
