Visited this restaurant from a friends recommendation. It's a neat looking restaurant long galley style with a second level for extra seating. From the little table we sat at, we turned the chairs so we could face the kitchen area where the chefs were making fresh pizzas instead of staring at the bar tender with her chest hanging out (put them away, you're at work) or stare at the doorway. We weren't overly hungry but wanted to try it. The prices were pretty steep for a beer $12, and the cocktail was VERY expensive $19 after tax. Hubs decided not to order the beer but insisted I try a fancy drink so I decided on the unicorn after recommendation from our waitress. The drink was pleasantly good, not too sour or too sweet, however definitely not worth the price. Then we decided on a small bites, skillet prawns. The wait wasn't too long. We took a bite each and we were so confused at the odd flavor. It tasted like latex gloves and cleaner. Hubs tried a a second small bite of another one and spit it out. We probably shouldn't have stopped. Our waitress was really nice about it and offered to get us a new one or something else or a dessert, but we declined. She ended up taking it off the bill. It was crowded when we arrived at 18:00, but we were seated right away and our server, Mia, was very good. I was not that hungry and just ordered a pizza. It was very good! When I got home I checked my receipt because I thought that the total for four people was awfully high. I found that I was charged for two bottles of wine instead of one. I called and reported the mistake and they were able to correct my charge in a timely manner. I would eat here again based on the service alone. read more

I used to love going to the Emerald cup because we would go to this restaurant and the Barreto with honey and pistachios and the bread made out of pizza dough. It's just so delicious and fun to share with friends and the cocktails are always creative and interesting. The service has always been great and it's easy just to keep ordering food and drinks even if you're not sitting at the bar. I wouldn't say the space is cramped, but it can definitely get cozy when it's full and it's kind of warm like a fall day. read more

Great portions! Visited after being reccomended this restaurant by the Sonoma Hyatt hotel and was very surprised by the large portions. The waiter also said that the meal can divided for two people before it is taken to the table. Everything was delicious, fries were really good too! Beautiful spot on the main drag in Santa Rosa, a wonderful little city in wine country. There's a busy bar and tables on the main floor but we were seated up in the loft. Beautiful table, great servers, friendly, attentive service. For appetizers we tried the Mac and cheese, chicken piccata meatballs, garlic shrimp and broiled oysters. All the food disappeared quickly. There is a large wine and beverage list so we enjoyed a few drinks. Dinners ranged from Italian beef dips, to salads, truffle oil fries and more. The bolognese pretty good, it is under the bigger eats section but wasn't that big of a portion size. Service was okay. Both the server and the hostess were incredibly friendly and efficient. My friend and I both enjoyed a fabulous cocktail that was super refreshing. The beet citrus salad was spot on. I don't think I've ever had one quite so good. The downfall was the gluten-free pizza unfortunately. The crust just wasn't very good. It was a dark rainy Sunday....we were able to get a table right away. We even got a parking spot not too far. The server was friendly, patient and helpful. The inside was comfortable and not too loud. We ordered cocktails, mussels, and the brick chicken w/ orecchiette. The cocktail went down easily. The mussels were perfectly cooked, and their chorizo sausage was meaty and flavorful. The thin sliced fennel added a nice depth to the sauce. They grill their bread so it was a perfect way to soak it up. I was really looking forward to the orecchiette, but it was my least favorite of the three items. It wasn't bad, but a $38 chicken pasta should be much more than we received. The chicken was not juicy, but the skin was crispy. We decided to give Jackson's another try before heading back home from our vacation. Their garlic skillet bread was an absolute favorite so this time around we ordered 2 plates of it. It's amazing! We also ordered their chicken wings and truffle fries. The fries come with ketchup and a lemon aioli (which was really good). Their wings come with zesty buffalo sauce and blue cheese dressing. This blue cheese was unlike others that I've tried before. It had almost a smokey flavor to it, but it was delicious nonetheless. We had an absolute blast. We loved the playlist that they were playing also! Our waitress was very nice as well. Food was tasty - I had oysters (4 for $16) . We were looking for a local place after some wine tasting, I saw this place on a local restaurant search and some patrons at the winery gave their thumbs up so we decided to try it. We went for a handful of small plates rather than main courses, and this place upheld Sonoma's excellent culinary reputation! The truffle fries were "addictive". Hot and crispy with just the right truffle flavor and a simple but tasty aïoli on the side. The portion was bigger than we expected. The shrimp over crispy rice was solid, the honey ginger sauce had a good amount of spice and tang. The roasted cauliflower was excellent, and again the (harissa) sauce was the highlight. And last but not least, the mac & cheese was excellent. Another large portion. We split some at the restaurant, my wife had some leftovers that night, and I finished it off for breakfast the next morning. This was my absolute favorite place to go to for their TO-DIE-FOR burgers (with the fries exxxttrrrraa crispy) and MIND-BLOWING wings! The service was always outstanding and everyone was more than accommodating to our family and guests if we were hosting. A few days ago, we finally returned from a hiatus of coming here , and we were sorely disappointed by the quality of Jackson's. First, we noticed that when we walked in, there seemed to be a smell that was almost stale and musty. It seemed almost as if I had walked into Applebees without the overpowering scent of cleaner lingering in the air . Then as we were seated, we were disgusted by the amount of flies and fruit flies/gnats that seemed to pester us at our table. Now I can usually understand when a restaurant has flies during the summer season getting trapped indoors but this seemed as if they probably have a cleaning issue as was noticed by the smell of the place. My sister spent most of the evening trying to swat the bugs away as we ate. When it came to food, the food still tasted amazing as usual, but it felt like quality of simple items were not up to standard. I couldn't even drink my water because the taste of it legitimately tasted moldy or as if it was in a basin that had been sitting for weeks. Even my grandparents caregiver who will only drink water at dinner wherever we go out and drink multiple glasses couldn't get past that first glass or sip. Then the bathroom was another story. I'm not very scent sensitive but I went to go wash my hands but I almost ended up vommiting because of the smell of standing water or something was beyond my threshold. I even noticed they seem to notice they have an issue but instead of fixing it, they try to cover the scent by using plug in scent diffusers which don't seem to be doing the job at all. Overall, the food is really good and the service is always above and beyond, but I think this place needs a good clean and that's coming from someone that used to work in one of the busiest chipotles where we learned how to clean to ensure there wouldn't be flies. read more
