It was crowded when we arrived at 18:00, but we were seated right away and our server, Mia, was very good. I was not that hungry and just ordered a pizza. It was very good! When I got home I checked my receipt because I thought that the total for four people was awfully high. I found that I was charged for two bottles of wine instead of one. Great portions! Visited after being reccomended this restaurant by the Sonoma Hyatt hotel and was very surprised by the large portions. The waiter also said that the meal can divided for two people before it is taken to the table. Everything was delicious, fries were really good too! Both the server and the hostess were incredibly friendly and efficient. My friend and I both enjoyed a fabulous cocktail that was super refreshing. The beet citrus salad was spot on. I don't think I've ever had one quite so good. The downfall was the gluten-free pizza unfortunately. The crust just wasn't very good. It was a dark rainy Sunday....we were able to get a table right away. We even got a parking spot not too far. The server was friendly, patient and helpful. The inside was comfortable and not too loud. We ordered cocktails, mussels, and the brick chicken w/ orecchiette. The cocktail went down easily. The mussels were perfectly cooked, and their chorizo sausage was meaty and flavorful. The thin sliced fennel added a nice depth to the sauce. They grill their bread so it was a perfect way to soak it up. I was really looking forward to the orecchiette, but it was my least favorite of the three items. It wasn't bad, but a $38 chicken pasta should be much more than we received. The chicken was not juicy, but the skin was crispy. We also ordered their chicken wings and truffle fries. The fries come with ketchup and a lemon aioli (which was really good). Their wings come with zesty buffalo sauce and blue cheese dressing. This blue cheese was unlike others that I've tried before. It had almost a smokey flavor to it, but it was delicious nonetheless. We had an absolute blast. This was my absolute favorite place to go to for their TO-DIE-FOR burgers (with the fries exxxttrrrraa crispy) and MIND-BLOWING wings! The service was always outstanding and everyone was more than accommodating to our family and guests if we were hosting. A few days ago, we finally returned from a hiatus of coming here , and we were sorely disappointed by the quality of Jackson's. First, we noticed that when we walked in, there seemed to be a smell that was almost stale and musty. It seemed almost as if I had walked into Applebees without the overpowering scent of cleaner lingering in the air . Then as we were seated, we were disgusted by the amount of flies and fruit flies/gnats that seemed to pester us at our table. Now I can usually understand when a restaurant has flies during the summer season getting trapped indoors but this seemed as if they probably have a cleaning issue as was noticed by the smell of the place. My sister spent most of the evening trying to swat the bugs away as we ate. When it came to food, the food still tasted amazing as usual, but it felt like quality of simple items were not up to standard. I couldn't even drink my water because the taste of it legitimately tasted moldy or as if it was in a basin that had been sitting for weeks. Even my grandparents caregiver who will only drink water at dinner wherever we go out and drink multiple glasses couldn't get past that first glass or sip. Then the bathroom was another story. I'm not very scent sensitive but I went to go wash my hands but I almost ended up vommiting because of the smell of standing water or something was beyond my threshold. I even noticed they seem to notice they have an issue but instead of fixing it, they try to cover the scent by using plug in scent diffusers which don't seem to be doing the job at all. Overall, the food is really good and the service is always above and beyond, but I think this place needs a good clean and that's coming from someone that used to work in one of the busiest chipotles where we learned how to clean to ensure there wouldn't be flies. read more

The food at this restaurant it is really good. We were fortunate enough to sit at a bar area that overseas to kitchen. Where we got to see the food being prepared and cooked. The head chef was nice enough to entertain us by giving us antidotes of the different dishes that were being prepared. This made choosing what we want to eat very challenging. We came on a busy Saturday evening without reservations but were pleased to have been seated right away. The restaurant is large with a lot of seating, including an upstairs area and another large area on the opposite side of their bar. We love to be seated near their incredible wood-fired pizza oven- it's such a thing of beauty. I love that their kitchen is open and viewable to everyone. We were greeted kindly by a lovely server we've had numerous times, I really should get her name. Having mentioned that we'd like to share the Caesar, the kitchen kindly split it on to two plates for us. Their Caesar is wonderful- full leaves of romaine, delicious dressing, and tasty seasoned croutons. They brought our truffle fries (and absolute must) shortly after, which come with a lemon aioli and ketchup. These truffle fries are just downright amazing. So many other places advertise "truffle fries" but end up having very little truffle flavor. Not at Jackson's, they have a great amount of truffle flavor and the lemon aioli is so good. Their pizzas are always great- it was because of Jackson's that my husband and I discovered the newest love of our lives: goat horn peppers. Their sausage pizza includes them and after we'd had it several months ago, we were able to locate some for sale at a local grocery store and we've been hooked ever since. hile staying in downtown Santa Rosa, we came here one evening for drinks before having dinner elsewhere. The place was packed around 5:30PM, but we found a couple of seats at the bar. The bartender was helpful and attentive. I noticed they had a nice collection of spirits, including Chartreuse, which is somewhat difficult to find, especially as "regular" bars, as mostly craft cocktail places seem to have it. The drinks we had were very good. If we ever come back, I'd definitely try a pizza, as they have a brick oven. read more
