My husband and two dogs and I had arrived in the area for a few days away. We woke up on the first morning to find a screw in our tire, which had leaked a lot of air. Fortunately we had an electronic tire pump, so we were able to get to a tire place. I picked Gary's based on reviews and location. I was beyond impressed! They were friendly as heck and had our car in and out in about 25 minutes. We just took the dogs and walked over to a nearby coffee shop and had some coffee. We walked back and the car was done! And it was a good job--we went on to check out many places from Evergreen State to Point Defiance in Tacoma, feeling safe and secure the whole time. We are back home and all is dandy. I HIGHLY recommend Gary's for personal, friendly, and FAST work. Now I need to make those cookies I promised them...and send them! Oh--and there was no charge! If you need any work done on your car or are having any issues with your tires, come here! The staff are all extremely helpful, knowledgeable, friendly, and most importantly, they listen to you! The prices are fantastic! I went in with a nail in my tire, and they repaired it within 30 minutes. I was originally quoted $30, but when I tried to pay, I was waved away. A big fear with auto repair places is that they will try to take advantage of you with unnecessary repairs, hidden fees, or overcharging services, especially for women. That is NOT the case for this place! I will absolutely be coming back for any and all service my car will need in the future, and when it is time to replace my tires, I'll be back here as well! read more

I love this place... When Les Schwab couldn't do my Jeep's brakes because of spacers. They took me right in and replaced them. No muss no fuss. So I went to them next for a tune-up/oil change, strut repair. Again no muss no fuss. My clutch had been slipping for awhile. They repaired it. I have an older Jeep that has needed alot of work. And I have only been doing repairs when I could. It just happened that in 2023 I could afford to do all of the above repairs. So I did it. The pricing overall was excellent. And no it wasn't cheap. But beyond less than the Jeep dealer I usually go to for all my Jeep's services. read more

Like most reviewers I'd describe them as going above and beyond to accommodate my needs. I only required a new headlamp. Not only did they replace it, they replaced my license plate bulbs, checked and filled my tires with air, checked and topped off my fluids, and let me know of issues to watch for in the future. I always came here for oil changes, this is the second time I go for an oil change and they don't put enough oil in. I took it for an oil change Friday and my husband checked it today and it was barely at the "low" line. I had to leave work early to have them top off the oil. Horrible service! Not going back again. I got there and the person that took my car keys had a horrible attitude, didn't say hi, he just took my keys and walked away. The manager (Tommy), I think that who he is, didn't apologize at all after I told him that I had to leave work early to get them to fix the mistake they made. Horrible service, if I could give this place 0 stars I would. Don't waste your money or time by going to this place, they're expensive and they can't do a simple oil change. read more

Last time in was there arranging care a black man from Seattle came in with an emergency. He was on a road trip and had a sudden emergency rendering vehicle unsafe to drive. Came off freeway looking for help and found Gary's. Even though they were booked solid, they squeezed him in so he could get car repaired and continue his road trip. I called Gary's Point S one morning and spoke with Mark regarding a sound that resembled some type of rattle. He asked me a couple questions about it and told me to drop by the shop when I was able to that day, so I stopped by after work. I met Mark and he seemed like a genuine and friendly guy. He test drove my car with me and my boyfriend to hear the sound and I showed him a video that I took of the sound the previous night. He opened my hood and determined that the engine was perfectly fine, and that the sound is probably just something cosmetic, and not to worry about it. He said that if I go get my oil change with them when I need it next, that they will look under my car to see if the sound is coming from there. I was overall pleased with Mark's customer service and his willingness to figure out the problem. I will definitely be going there for my oil change and future car needs. read more

I've gone to this place for oil changes and tires and was satisfied. This was the first time one of our cars needed repairs. They bid $3,500 OVER what someone else charged for the work. These guys are awesome. They fixed my old Avalon a while back when the tire flew of it on the highway. The car was up and running no problem when it rolled out the shop. Recently my Chevy sonic has been giving me non stop issues with a oil leak. Come to find out the jiffy lube I took it to in Olympia didn't put the cap back on right. Gary's was able to take in that day and let me know about the issue causing me so much trouble. This was after I took it to Firestone multiple times for other issues and they couldn't find a oil leak. I'll only be bringing my cars to Gary's because they're no BS and get the job done right the first time. Other mechanics have me coming back to them a few days later. With all the good reviews, I had to see if they were true. So my car's in need of an oil change. I called over the phone to tell them i was about 10-15 minutes away and to see when's the soonest they can have me in. Mark said to come right on by, so I did. They got my car in faster than any other car service I have ever been to. The wait time was said to be between 30-40 minutes, but I was out before 20, and still it being my first time here, everything was fast! I brought a 2011 Ford F150 to get a pre-purchase inspection done. Mike, the service manager, told me over the phone that they were going to save me money by not continuing with the inspection because there were just so many things wrong with the truck. When I came to pick up the truck, Mike spent about an hour of his time explaining to me all of the things that they found wrong with the truck and what it would cost to get each thing fixed. He gave me price estimates for parts and labor so that if I did decide to buy the truck I would know what I need to invest in getting fixed and what it's worth overall. I did end up buying the truck, and because of Mike's thorough inspection and notes, I was able to get the price down significantly by showing what the truck needed in repairs. Mike only charged me for the amount of time they spent checking out the truck, and not for the transmission fluid inspection and all of his time explaining everything to me and typing out costs of parts and labor. I appreciate the shop's excellent customer service and Mike's attention to detail. He answered every question I asked with patience and his expertise. read more

A few weeks ago, I went to Gary's for an oil change. Per their website, this is what should be included: Oil Changes Include: *Drain old/refill *New oil filter *Lubricate chassis *Air filter inspection *Breather element/PCV valve check *Engine coolant level check *Windshield wiper blades check *Tire pressure check *Exterior lights inspection *Antifreeze/coolant level check *Serpentine belts inspection Top-off fluids: *Power steering fluid *Battery fluid *Windshield fluid *Transmission/transaxle fluid *Differential fluid I gave them my cell number and they never called to tell me when my vehicle was ready. When I arrived about 2 hours later to discover my vehicle was done, nobody was available to communicate what had been done. In fact, nobody seemed to care about me or my vehicle. I still don't know if they did anything that should have been included with the oil change. Actually, now that I think about it. I know for a fact that the wiper blades are in very poor condition. That tells me that they didn't check the blades and probably didn't check most of the stuff on that list. Strange place. I'll probably go somewhere else next time. read more
