I was looking for a new mechanic in the Oly area and part of what made me pop in here was the Pride flag they have hanging outside. Our family cares about having safe places for members of the queer community to patronize, so this got me in the door. We were able to get both our cars in for routine service quickly. This included a free all-points inspection with photos and info (e.g. brake pad thickness) and broke everything down by degree of urgency. Service was prompt and friendly, and after I discovered transmission fluid was leaking from one car when we got home, they apologized and got me back in right away to correct the issue. Parking lot is tight and there's no night drop (fenced lot), but they have a nice waiting area and their lobby shows how involved they are in supporting the local community. Found this place because I felt ripped off by the Jiffy Lube in Tumwater and I didn't want that to happen again. I found they had a Groupon for 8 Synthetic blend oil changes for $99. Can you believe that? What a deal! Anyway I showed up first thing in the morning and they were already at work. I sat in the waiting room and they let us have the remote so we can pick whatever show we felt like and time went fast because I was only there for 30 minutes. While we were waiting I enjoyed the coffee from their Keurig. I handed the guy my punchcard and they marked off two oil changes, since they had given me full synthetic. I didn't know the difference and the guy who checked me in was a mechanic and not the regular office guy, so that's where the mistake was. That's okay though, lesson learned- make sure to ask for the synthetic blend. The punchcard lasts for two years, so I'm gonna get one for each of my cars because who can beat that deal? read more

this was my experience with harrison /division location. cody lied to me about what my car needed. replaced something that was working. told me he fixed the piece that was bad and sent me home. my other mechanic discovered the piece does not work and i was lied to. I came in with a misfire on cylinder four and spark plugs replaced 30k miles ago- and for context they should last for 90k in my vehicle. I was told that the plugs were coated in carbon and needed to be replaced and that the last person to work on the car had likely installed them wrong which is why they went bad so quickly. Carbon coated plugs can of course contribute to a misfire but they can also be a symptom of other issues- also given that they were replaced so recently I was hesitant but [[HIGHLIGHT]]I trusted Cody, who one of the shop owners.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I was also advised to get a fuel injection cleaning which was 130 dollars (upon doing some research at most shops it's 50-80). Two days later the check engine light came back on, I went back in pissed off and was told that it was likely the chemicals from the fuel injection cleaning fouling the new plugs and that they'd take a look. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was also at this point I made eye contact with the owner Cody who then left on a 2.5 hour long lunch break/test drive (depending who you talked to).[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] During this second visit I was told at this point my issue was in fact caused by the plugs being fouled AND that the misfire couldn't be pinned down to a specific cylinder- despite what the code reader at Oreilys said. I was told by Nic the technician that their code reader was more advanced and could tell that wasn't the case. I was sent on my way and told that if anything came back up to give them a call. Then yesterdag, three days after my second visit, the chrck engine light comes on again. I call the shop wanting my money back for the brand new shiny spark plugs I had been talked into which did nothing. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Cody picks up, I'm put on hold and then someone else picks up saying Cody is headed home sick with food poisoning.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I come in once again to get the code read and am told that without my knowledge the coils on cylinder 3 and 4 were swapped to see if the misfire would follow when I had come in a second time. I wasn't told this was happening and it also contradicted what I was told previously about their high tech code reader. All in all I now have brand new shiny spark plugs that I was assured with 100% confidence would fix my problem. And I would like my money back. I understand paying for diagnosis but my situation was misdiagnosed and could have been avoided entirely if I was taken seriously. Not to mention the wildly different accounts of what has been done to my car by different technicians. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Around 20 minutes later I begin getting a massive flood of text messages from Cody's wife, telling me about how I'd been in 2 times with my Subaru and how this was all a normal part of the diagnostic process etc.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]She even claimed I was on video seeing my spark plugs before the replacement. I have a Chevy- I'd been in three times.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They had replaced my plugs before doing any of the diagnostic work shed claimed the charges were for, and the only time I'd seen those plugs was after I'd checked out the evening of my first visit but again being carbon coated really meant nothing. She also informed me that the 400 dollars I was charged for all of this was nothing to her and her buissness- and if that's the case I would love that money back because while they might be sitting pretty financially I'm a college kid who works part time and 400 dollars does in fact matter to me. New transmission, new torque converter, new alternator in under a week! Not only that I'm very impressed with the workmanship!. I've been turning wrenches my whole life but these days just don't have the time and capacity for the big repairs, needless to say I know a quality repair when I see it and it's priceless to know I have a trustworthy and competent shop by my side if needed. On Wednesday the 19th of February ,2025 I brought my 2016 4 -runner in for a quote on a rational noise. After going for a test drive with one of the techs he said it sounded like a u-joint. We asked him if they were positive that this was the issue and they said yes. Cody also reassured me that they have this special device that can detect exactly where the noise in coming from during a test drive.( I did not see the device he was speaking off, and I am not sure if there is such a thing) Cody gave us a price for the repair. Cody told us the price for 1 and said the the other u-joint was dry as well and would probably go out in a few months( but its hard to say )we went ahead and decided to do both of them at the same time because in the long run it would be cheaper if it id go out. He said it would take about 2.5 hours, He called us an uber and we went home. After 3.5 hours we called to see where they were at on our 4-runner, Cody answered the phone and said the issue was fixed ,but when they did a test drive they still heard it a little so they needed to put more grease on it. He said about another hour. An hour went by and Cody called and said that they were done with the u-joints ,but now they hear another noise coming from a belt something about a tension belt pully. I said nope never heard that before. I asked them to call me a uber to get back to the shop. When we arrived, there was a new tech that help us, We asked to speak with Cody, he said Cody was not there. They still had my car up on racks again with the hood opened. (I didn't give permission for them to open my hood for any reason.)so I was annoyed at this point. I said I'm done I just want you to get me my car. We asked to see the old u-joints that they replaced and his reply was let me go locate them. He came back and said, we don't have them, that they must have thrown them away. Before we could say anything at all he said you don't owe anything for today we aren't going to charge you. (We were a little stunned because who says that at an auto place?) we said why? his reply was that because they had our car longer then it should have taking (1.5-2 hours longer) that they felt like we shouldn't have to pay. I do have to admit I thought this is odd, I said to my husband I bet the noise is still there and they didn't replace anything. Well you guessed it, the noise was still there and there is no noise coming from any belt. We both left there pretty livid! Not only did we feel like they tried to scam us and get us to pay for this and that when they couldn't find the issue. They treated the inside of my vehicle like crap, I have grease everywhere inside of my car , seatbelts, steering wheel ,gear shift ,and my floor mates are covered in mud. I truly believe they would have charged us if we wouldn't have aske for the old parts.( Just my personal opinion) who knows for sure. I know that they didn't charge us for anything that day ,but I feel this business is nothing but scammers and liars. If you value your vehicle, time and don't want to just give your money away I would stay clear of Busy Bee Automotive. BTW, the noise was within our tires, they just needed to be balanced again ! read more
