I ultimately went with the lean brisket, a side of coleslaw, a side of collard greens and they also added in a piece of cornbread. My wife got the same, except she got the regular brisket which was much more fatty. I absolutely loved my food. Even though the brisket was lean, it was still very tender and of course the flavor was sensational. The sides were also solid. I liked that the coleslaw was chopped on the finer side and it wasn't too saucy. The collard greens also had great seasoning. I didn't try the cornbread but it looked pretty good. The only complaint we had was the texture of my wife's brisket which was a little on the mushy side. The flavor was good, it's just texture wise, most of it was like a big blob of meat and fat, rather than brisket slices. She wound up throwing more than half away. I've actually passed this place a million times and eaten at restaurants all over the area. But somehow I never stopped in at Mission BBQ. Glad I did! At the event, with our group around 50 or so people, they were able to create 3 different dishes for us to choose from. I noticed most people from our company picked their grilled cheese sandwich which I guess that's the dish they are known for. Since my stomach does not take cheese well, I decided to go with the chicken tenders. Overall everyone from my company seemed to enjoyed their food. My chicken tender was pretty good and I love their season fries. Most people picked the Fried Mac and Cheese as the sides and everyone said it was the bomb. Again, cheese and I don't go together well but I did managed to take one bite and it was delicious. Not sure how much these dishes go on their regular menu, but the food we tried were pretty good and hopefully we get to see them again in our next corporate outing so I can try some more different dishes.

This plate arrived looking like it meant business. Then my old nemesis arrived. The Tin Star. The metal tin this plate arrived on is a nacho heat assassin. By mid-plate the cheese had gone from melted to molten slag. By the end it was frozen solid. The Tin Star doesn't care about your $16. The Tin Star has only physics. Now the taste. BLAND. Here's what makes this especially frustrating. This is a BBQ restaurant. They had the rub. They had the drizzle. They used neither. The nachos tasted like someone forgot where they came from and what they were making. A light dusting of rub and a BBQ drizzle and this plate is a completely different conversation.
