Beware. Awful experience. Well, maybe those around me had a nice dinner, they moved quickly. My family came in on our vacation, super excited to eat here. Looked great. 9 people. In my experience in restaurants for 14 years working in them, I have never seen a restaurant not prioritize a larger party to get them out and make room. I guess they didn't get the memo. We waited a long time for drinks, an hour for our appetizers, and after over 2 hours our dinner wasn't even out yet. The manager talked me into staying saying the food was ready. Well, that was another 10 or so minutes, we told them to pack it and we would appreciate something being done. When the bill came, he took only 50 dollars off! So now, our bill is still over 200 dollars, and we are taking it home to eat cold in a hotel after hours of waiting? With babies no less? And then when I asked the manager what the idea was with that, he was super nasty. Said well that doesn't please u so what do u want me to do. I said you know what, I'll pay for what I ate. Take this back. I couldn't believe it. Absolutely never again. I don't want things for free, but not only was it an awful experience, but it was an awful attitude by the management. My poor waitress was probably the only pleasant part of the experience. But unfortunately not enough for me to ever recommend this location. So disappointing. Enter at your own risk. read more

We had dinner here last night. The cocktails were great while we waited for our food. Scallop appetizer were awesome. For dinner the salmon was ok but the pizza was really great! Came for quick bite and drinks before lake cruise. We were seated right away and the staff was friendly but it did take about 50 minutes for our food to come out. We ordered the avocado and feta salad, steak frites and the brisket pizza. The food was great. The drinks were not too good. We had a mojito and a watermelon margarita. read more

Noticed some neg reviews re: service... gaslight definitely listened. Service was on point last night. Our primary server, Alex, was helpful and chatty without being obtrusive, and several others checked on us for drink refills, etc. Food was decent. I agree with the other reviewers re: toppings being a tad heavy, but the crust, albeit thicker than typical wood fired pizza, was tender and perfectly cooked. Salad was good also. Just tried out the new Gaslight in LG. Right off the bat...Free parking, on site! Great start. We were greeted right away and chose to sit outside on a lovely evening. We could see the lake from our table. Shannon was our server, she was great. Very polite, knew what she was doing and attentive. We started with Brussels sprouts and scallops for apps. Both were very nice. For entree I had hanger steak/frites. Steak was delicious, cooked how I requested and tender. Fries were nice and crispy. Hubs had a burger and fries, both good. Plenty of food! Decided on a whim to eat here during our long weekend. The service was very good, I believe our waiter was Alex. He was very accommodating and attentive. The decor is nice, low lighting ambiance. To be honest, most of what we ordered was good but average restaurant fare. I had scallops, my boyfriend had the personal pizza. However the highlight of the entire meal was the brisket macaroni and cheese. We both commented on how it was literally the best mac & cheese we have ever eaten in our lives!! Highly recommend going there just for that. I believe you have a choice of either barbecue brisket or barbecue chicken on the top. One appetizer dish split between the two of us easily could've been our meal. Hood size portion and delicious! Like I said, worth it! Next time I would get it as my main dish. read more

We had a really good dinner and drinks there on a beautiful Thursday night. We started with their drink menu, which included many IPAs and our server was very knowledgeable about the subtle differences which informed my companions decision on which to drink. I had the Rainstorm Pinot Noir, was glad to see it on the menu. We enjoyed the Brussels Sprouts appetizer, then we dug into the personal sized wood fired pesto shrimp pizza and the rack of lamb dinner special. Very delicious! My husband and I went here because the online menu said gluten free . I have celiac. We arrived at 7:45 with a reservation. There were plenty of tables .Waited at hostess stand for over five minutes with no employee in sight . We were finally seated in the dark. My husband couldn't read the menu it was so dark. I asked our waiter about the menu and he said not much was GF but he would " work with me" . We ordered the steak which was " my safest option" and drinks . We waited 25 minutes with no drinks . DO NOT come to the Gaslight restaurant if you want quality service, good food, and/or exquisite atmosphere. Had to ask for bread 4 TIMES just to be presented with 5 mini slices of rock hard cold bread. The food came within 1 and a half hours. By that point, we had to leave to get back to the parking meter, which affected my meal considering by the time I got back, my steak salad was lukewarm. We had to ask for utensils and napkins. Our waitress had no explanation for the delay. If no stars were an option, I would give it none. Do not recommend. read more

I was up in Lake George for the weekend with my lady and we stopped in here for a late dinner on Friday night. The menu at gaslight is awesome. We did a spread of small plates/appetizers to sample because everything sounded so good. The first app we tried was the pan seared scallops. They were so fresh and cooked perfectly. Next was the lamb carpaccio - melt in your mouth tasty. We also had a delicious burrata and a duck liver pate. Both were awesome dishes. Loaded with flavor and fresh. While we were eating we got friendly with some of the staff who pulled up to the bar with us. We were tasting drinks and having shots. Very fun atmosphere and very solid service. They also have a pizza oven so after we finished our small plates we ordered a pesto shrimp and prosciutto arugula pizza to soak up some of the booze we'd been drinking. Also delicious and made for a hell of a snack back at the cabin. All in all very satisfying start to our weekend in Lake George and I really hope this place takes off. Give it a try. read more

Arrived with 14 people for lunch before the place got busy. Took 30 minutes to get our first drinks. Waiter told us the cook was in a bad mood and only wanted to cook burgers and fries. Nothing else was available. We put in an order of 3 fries to feed our kids. After an hour and no food we just asked for our check and left. Waiter never came back around for drinks or anything. Went here with my family as a Anniversary gift for my parents and one time for a date. Our drinks were served timely and the waiter (Gabby I think) was phenomenally nice and upstanding! Tried this place out as it had a "good" rating. Needless to say, I'd wait till they work out the kinks. Although the food was decent. The wait staff were running around like chickens with their heads cut off. We were told there would be a 20 minutes wait when there were multiple tables open. We were seated within 5 minutes. This seemed great but then it all fell apart. The water waitress is rude and should have her attitude checked. I almost left by the second eye roll she gave us. Three different people tried to take our drink order. I'd say they need to work out their organization. We only had one waiter who actually took out food order after the owners asked us if we had been seen. They must've known we were not too happy as they came over to ask us if we have been waiting long about three times after that. Overall the food when it finally came out after 25 minutes was good, it's a new place and in my opinion they're trying too hard to please. I had the absolutely worse time ever. This is my absolutely worse restaurant experience. I went Labor Day weekend and it was horrible. We waited for 40 minutes before they took our order, then after 30 the waitress came back and told us about no pizza dough, WTH!!! This place is known for pizza. So I ordered the salmon and that took 1 hour and 10 minutes. People at other tables got up and left because it took so long. The salmon was horrible tasted like rubber, so dry, no flavor. I would have been satisfied with Cotton dipped in BBQ sauce and that would have tasted better. If I ever go back to Lake George, which I definitely will, I will not go back read more

Would like to start off and say I came to Lake George just to get away by myself. My hotel was next to this place! I asked if I could sit at the outdoor bar. Jeremy the bartender welcome me and made sure I knew I had to order food while sitting there! Everyone was very welcoming and most I had conversation with! The cook came over to me and had a great conversation. Little did I know he was the owner as well. If I could give this establishment a 10 I would. I went to the Gaslight restaurant last night for the first time with my daughter. We had the Mushroom Risotto for an appetizer and it was delicious. For our entree's my daughter had the Salmon and I had a wood fired pizza, both were done to perfection. I hope that people will give this young restaurant a try, it is worth it. Two more things,the bar is small but cozy and Alex our waiter was attentive without being overly intrusive. I will definitely be back ! read more

The owner was apologetic and accomodating because the timing of the service was not on point, the drinks were not refulled promptly, the wait staff and hostess were cleatly inexperienced, then speaking to the owner i found out they were only open 3 months. We finally got to Gaslight. Shannon was so nice and accommodating and sat us right away. The food was delicious, and the service even better. "Avoid at all Costs" Our first time in Lake George, our first night in town, and we happened upon the Gaslight Restaurant. From first impressions, the outside dining area was packed, so we thought this must be a great restaurant. We went up to the receptionist, and got a table inside, which was o.k. with us as we did not want to wait over an hour for a table outside. The inside of the restaurant was quite dark, little lighting, and depressing. We were a party of six, one being an 8 yr. old child. It was explained to us that they were very busy, and it may take a little bit of time for them to get to us. We didn't expect a little bit of time would be 45 minutes, and that was just to get a glass of water. Eventually they took our orders and another hour passes. When our food finally arrived, the only dish that was somewhat palatable was the child's cheese pizza. All the other dishes were bad to horrible. For example, I ordered roast chicken ($24), and what actually appeared before me was what looked like a bowl of soup with a chicken leg and an artichoke with stem sticking out of the bowl. The chicken was tough as leather, and had absolutely no taste whatsoever!!! The liquid in the bowl was like water. It was unbelievable they called this food !!! Our waiter kept apologizing all evening for the delays. Our bill was over $200, for food that was unedible. You would think they could have at least adjusted our bill and maybe not charged us for one of the meals, since our wait took all night. We do not recommend this restaurant in any way. read more

If I could leave zero stars, I would. My husband and I chose this place specifically because their "Entire menu is gluten free with a few exceptions." As soon as we arrived, there was one other family waiting to be seated and the outdoor area was almost empty (which is where everyone was going to be seated). Everything was complete chaos, and the hostess (who apparently was a manager) was running around as if she had a million things to do, but it didn't seem as if she was actually doing anything at all. After we were finally seated, we ordered drinks and then waited to order. I ordered my dinner along with some appetizers and my husband, who has Celiac, asked if he could have a burger on a gluten free bun. On the menu, the burger had asterisk next to it meaning it had a "gluten free alteration available", but he was told that they didn't have gluten free buns and that they could give him lettuce instead. Yum. How can you offer a gluten free friendly menu with a burger and not offer a gluten free option for one of the most essential parts of the burger? But ok, not a big deal.. he quickly then chose to order a pizza with a cauliflower crust, as he mentioned to the waiter that he cannot have gluten. We ordered the "pommes frites" which is just a fancy name for horrible French fries with an aioli sauce that was not so great. Our food arrived and we began eating and I notice that my husband's pizza looked a little too good to be gluten free. We waited for our waiter to come back (who had not returned to see if everything came out ok) so my husband could ask if his pizza was the right crust, which it was not. The waiter apologized and offered to take it back and make him a new one with the right crust, but by then my husband was furious and didn't want anything else. The waiter sincerely apologized and left, and didn't return for a while. We asked one of the servers if we could speak to a manager, and the woman who appeared to be the hostess came over and apologized and said that the waiter felt terrible and that they were going to comp the pizza. So just to get this straight, they were not going to charge us for a pizza that my husband was allergic to and could not eat.... oh, thanks! She sat there patronizing my husband and went on to say that they learn from their mistakes and said she wasn't sure of what else she could do. First of all, my husband had an allergy, which people die from. It wasn't as if they brought him the wrong drink, it's a little more serious than that. This isn't just a learning moment or something to take lightly. Secondly, it's not about the money, but the fact that they didn't offer to take an appetizer or even a drink off our bill was a slap in the face. I know that the waiter felt horrible, but my husband will now be sick for the next and last two days of our vacation. I just felt that aside from the horrible and awkward service along with the mediocre food (at best), the way they handled this situation was not appropriate or professional at all considering the severity of the problem, and the customer service was awful. read more

Trendy looking place but poor execution and pricey. Didn't seem crowded, plenty of room outside. Waited a long time for drinks. Ordered several appetizers but everything came out at once, which is unfortunate. You order apps with intention of grazing on them before your meal. Then I order a Chardonnay and was told they were completely out of all Chardonnay. And the waitress recommended a special, a rose or sangria. I said sure to the rose but when it came out it was a pint glass with what looked like sangria. I questioned it and she insisted it was rose and I said no it can't be. Then a gentleman came out and asked why I didn't like the drink and I explained that I wanted white wine but was told you were out so she offered the rose and this isn't a rose. He said this is a rose served with sangria. I said I don't want a sangria. He said they have Chardonnay. SMH. Pricey and poor service. read more
