After waiting MONTHS for my 12yo sons tooth to be extracted so he could get his bottom set of braces on, these IMBECILES canceled his appt without my knowledge, had me drive from Shelby to Gastonia just to tell me and my baby to leave. Today on 4/23/26. We arrived 30 mins before our appointment time of 12. Filled out all of the documents required and still had to wait an additional 35 minutes after 12 to be seen. Following this their practices for not allowing parents to sit with their minors is crazy especially after the death of the child ok Greensboro at a dentist office you would think they would arrange something different. Worst experience ever! Call on April 7th and scheduled 3 appointments for new patients. Appointment was set and confirmed for May 12th @ 8:30am. Showed up for the appointment time and they only had half of my children's information in their system and no appointments for that day! Completely incompetent office staff! I would give them zero stars but this app makes me make a selection. I was offered to bring the kids back at 1pm but I would rather find a new office instead of dealing with this one if this is how they operate. read more

sometimes this place does an amazing job on my teeth and sometimes they don't. when i first started doing dental work here it was good, they listened to what i said, even accommodated my medical issues with the dental work they had done to me. I had braces done at this location too and they were good except after they took them off i had a plan set for my teeth, fillings, partials. have told them multiple times i don't want them pulling my baby teeth out because i couldn't be able to eat without them. then they had me scheduled for fillings just to tell me they planned on pulling out teeth that day. why can't my words be listened to. they have mistakenly made appointments for me. they have called and messaged me several times about appointments JUST TODAY. about a appointment for more fillings when they said i was done with fillings last time i was there.. so which is it? they left a spacer/rope thing in my gum between my tooth and gum from doing build ups on the front teeth and i thought i got it all out but there was more and it looks infected. they in fact didnt get it out. made an emergency appointment for this place for them to get it out.. let's see if they do that tomorrow. thanks for reading. if you have a choice to go anywhere but here for dental work.. DO NOT GO HERE. front desk is rude. The doctors don't listen to what the patients preference is. thank you! they do not check to make sure everything is removed. They wanted me to bring him in for an evaluation but not fix the tooth..He was just there two months ago, so how is he not up-to-date on his evaluations when they told me see you in six months. I'm going to keep this short and to the point. I had a 10:30am appt, got here at 10:36 completed the paper work in office only to be told they couldn't see me because they have a 10min grace period and I didn't give them the paper work until close to 11am. I have been a patient here since 2008-09 and never had this issue. I've never shown up and not been checked in because the "health form" wasn't completed within the 10min grace period. I even recall completing the paper while in the chair, in the back. The excuse was because it's been over 6mo since I was here. Makes no sense. They told me I could come back at 1:30pm and I respectfully declined as I have another appointment to get to by 3pm in SC and my appointments here usually take a while. I had to file a Medicaid Fraud complaint against this office after the office manager removed my CareCredit payment from my account--that I had paid to insinuate that I was using Medicaid. I never asked to use any insurance. I sat silently on the phone as the office worker had a conversation with herself, *me silent* her: "yeah, uhuh, uhuh, so I'll do a refund of your payment". I never asked for that, nor did I mention that I'd be using Medicaid AT ALL. When I said that someone had referred me, she flipped a switch. The conversation was heavily vengeful, and I don't even know what goes on in THEIR WORKPLACE, but this Office Manager is in a constant state of CSR VIOLATIONS. If they didn't like the person or something, fine, but she made unilateral account decisions that I asked her not to do in a way to try and force me to use Medicaid--which I never asked to use. She aimed to hurt me in any way possible, and even me sitting silent on the phone couldn't stop it. She was having a fake conversation wtih me to make me seem like the combative one. n if it meant losing my prepayment of $2,500, which I stated was from a closed joint account. We still haven't received the refund, but she told me NOT TO CALL BACK (yelled it). $2,500 is how much we're talking about here. The funds are unaccounted for as of now. Other workers of Gaston Dental told me she behaves like this quite often. If she isn't of sound mind to work with accounts and payments, she should be FIRED, period. When I was on the phone with her, she began (again, I'm silent on the line) having a conversation with me that was not even happening--so that others around her could hear and make it seem like I was asking for it. (me SILENT, her "yeah, uhuh, uhuh, OKAY, I'll do a refund." It was SCARY. She then got combative as if I were compaining, but I was SILENT ON THE LINE. She was literally having a conversation with herself for histrionic purposes to show the other staff she something was happening that WAS NOT. (Don't get me wrong, I ended up mad, but it wasn't until the last moment on the phone--who wouldn't be shocked at this sick, delusional behavior?) She then put the office manager on the line, which I attempted to reason with, but she came on with the aim of hurting me, as well. It was as if I had two high schoolers with a beef messing with my financials. DISTURBING & SCARY. Then, the Office Manager came on the phone with a HOSTILE attitude like she had thought I was complaining or was worked up that I was a referral of a coworker they didn't like. BOTH, PROBABLY. She claimed, "since you're using Medicaid, we can't keep the CareCredit payment. I never asked to use Medicaid; I never even mentioned it. Nor does it cover my needed treatments--it doesn't even have full dental. I tried to tell them this, but they both ganged up on me and told me that they were doing it no matter what and NOT TO CALL BACK. Several days later, I never received the refund. If they don't like one of the coworkers, that is their business. But, they aimed to "show them" by scamming me. This is the perfect example of Medicaid Fraud/Fraud with a damage total of $2,500. I have the conversation recorded and am planning on filing several complaints and possibly suing the Office Manager and company for the total damages. Don't use this office. It also looks more like a methadone clinic than a dentist's office. It's dirty and disgusting. The first time I came there, they were badmouthing my old dentist, Dr. Picot from Southend Dentistry. I thought this was unprofessional, but I had no idea what was in store for me. DON'T GO HERE. THERE ARE COUNTLESS OTHER OPTIONS, GUYS. Gaston Dental is not accommodating at all! I am a single mom who works 12 hours shifts. It takes 6-8months to get a dental appointment. I came early and checked my 3 Children in at 215pm for a 3pm appointment time. Updated the paperwork, insurance ect. Left and came back due to my own overlapping dental appointment at 230 ( this time frame was unavoidable) I informed them of this prior to leaving and asked for grace as they know how hard it is to get these appointments. They told me I couldn't leave my kids there but I could wait in the car when it was their appointment time. My children (17,16,13) waited nearby and walked in at 305pm. They told me there was 10 min grace period. Again they already saw us all but because I personally was 4 mins pass the grace period they refuse to see my kids. They would rather not perform their annual checkups and make sure their teeth were healthy! Because of 4 minutes!!!. Again my kids were in the building at 305pm. Not to mention they left school early for this appointment! I will not be returning!! read more

Great dental office! Clean, kind, and they accept Medicaid! I love how professional and caring everyone is.

The wait time alone is awful it seems that they over schedule everyone! They use the papoose method to restrain kids that don't like having dental work done. My children were terrified to go here, even to get their teeth cleaned. If you happen to have a child that gets upset they won't let you go back with them. For younger kids they only "clean" their teeth with a toothbrush and their toothpaste. My oldest son was told he needed an emergency procedure done and they didn't have time to do it so was sent elsewhere just to find out he really didn't need that at all. Again my oldest had braces and after three months took them off because they said we weren't keeping our appointments which was not true because they kept rescheduling him. We would show up to get his new bands and all on and they would send us home saying they couldn't do it. Thankfully ow we have found a wonderful dentist. I don't advise anyone to go here. read more

Terrible. Let me waiting in pain in the waiting room for 1 hour. I left. That is so disrespectful to new patients and not how I do business. Also, the waiting room bathrooom was stopped up badly with everything and piles of toilet paper -- it looked and smelled like a porta john. Not one person checked on it while I was there. It's horrible!! I have children an they can't sit for hours just to see a dentist. They are anxious an full of energy and ready to play. Well there's nothing here for kids! No toys, they have a chalkboard but NEVER NO CHALK. The waiting is always LONG & FULL! Staff is NEVER around to answer any Questions. To check in ur waiting at least 30 min to do so. I'm changing dentist because everytime I've came with my children they have always had something to say!! We are always spending 3-4 hours up here just so 2-3 of my kids can been seen then I have to reschedule the other ones because I'm tired of sitting here. They wanted me to change my daughters diapers in the floor!! I said no, then they told me to go to my car an do it!!
